Prestige, what are some good locations/ways
Your prestige intake is perportional to your xp earnings.

You'll actually get less prestige if you have multiple people (unless you are all in the same SG and all in SG mode) so soloing is the best way to get prestige. Take advantage of the monitor duty job as well, that gives a prestige bonus.
If your SG can get enough people to easily and quickly take down GMs, they're worth 2,500 prestige each.

Technically it's proportional to your inf earnings. (If you exemp and get only inf, no XP, you still get prestige.)

Solo hunt Bosses in the street. Bosses even con are worth the same as a mission completion bonus.
Unfortunatly, you are Villain side. Solo hunting bosses mugging civvies Hero side get more prestige when the greatful civvie thanks you. (Yet an OTHER red blue inequity)
Not sure if there is a bonus for breaking up a weapons/dope deal Red side, but there sure as heck aren't any greatful civvies.
Dr Tanaka 50 Stone/Stone Tank
Cool MacCool 50 AR/Ice Blaster
Cold MacCool 50 ice/ice Blaster
Alura Darkstone 41 Brute Dark/Stone
Dr Akanat 40 Brute Stone/Stone
and many more
Alright, so my best bet is going to be to group with just SG members. or play solo, and that will net me the most prestige i can get.
Thanks for the info guys, if there is anything else, please post or message me the info.

[/ QUOTE ]Not really... Whether the group is on one team, or spread out over 8 teams, the SG will earn the same prestige. There's no bonus for grouping with other SG memebers (other than if you've teamed together before, you'll likely work together better than a PuG, so you might end up killing faster).

Depending on the team, the loss in prestige earned per kill is more than made up by the rate at which the team can blow through mobs. Soloing is not always better.

lol.. i didnt say there was a bonus.
some one said that when i team, i lose prestige gained, unless i team with VG mates. (because they are also getting prestige)
so my best bet would be to team with them, when i team.

as was said above, on a good team, the prestige you'd lose on an individual kill is made up for in spades in the long run.
also
red text = bad.

[/ QUOTE ]There's no 'unless'. Say there's two in your SG online (you and another), and you two join two different teams and fight in SG mode. You both earn X prestige for your SG, so your SG ends up with 2X prestige at the end of the day. An alternative course of action would be you two play on the same team together, each of you earning X prestige for your SG, with 2X prestige earned at the end of the day.
2X = 2X
See what I'm saying? The reduction in reward per kill isn't countered by a SG member playing on your team instead of another, it has no impact.

Also, you'll get bonus prestige at mission complete with the "Monitor Duty" Day Job.
--------------
"Chew Electric Death, Snarling Cur!"
I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough.
Each mob is worth X prestige.
If you're on a duo team with someone who is not in your SG, your prestige will be X/2.
If you're on a duo team with someone who IS in your SG, and you're both in SG mode, YOUR prestige will still be X/2, but the other person is also getting X/2 so you end up with X.
As long as other people in your SG are in SG mode, the prestige will roll in. If you're the only prestige earner, then it's better not to share
You might want to stop using the coloured text, it's hard to read on this forum due to the background colours. Sorry, but it just makes it easier.
And teaming for prestige will be more profitable than soloing- yes, you'll get about the same, but on a large team you'll be defeating many more enemies much, much faster and earning more overall.
There's a number of ways to add a little more to your haul: Do Ouroboros arcs or Task Forces, since being Exemplared earns more prestige; get the Monitor Duty Day Job, which gives a bonus for every mission you complete while it lasts.
I use the red text to see where I wrote, and I also can read it better.
I still don't think you understand what Im saying what so ever, because you completely ignored what i wrote in the brackets.
When I team, it cuts my prestige, but when I team with people in my super group I don't lose that prestige, it just goes to another member.
so, I lose prestige (I being the VH that I own) unless I team with people from my VG and not people who are not in my VG, unless that group is killing enough monsters to make up for the loss.
Another question:
Is there an optimum amount of people on a team for good amount of Mobs on map, and good amount of prestige?
The "City of Heroes" and "City of Villains" forums are the same forum, with different background skins.
I use the Heroes skin and it is hard to read your text.

yeah, i know.
But that doesn't change the reason im using it, nor the topic of the thread (that, not being the color of my text) and no one forces you to read it, look at it, or answer it in any way. im not trying to be a jerk, but i can use whatever color i want, and then its your choice to take that, and answer, or not answer based on that. i guess....
Just a side note, i use both background, and like red on both.
1. I'm not your English teacher. Nobody's paying me to read your post. Furthermore, for every "me" who responds to explain why I don't like red text (for instance), there are probably 7 to 10 people who just left the thread. (I think the customer service number is 1 complaint per 7 unhappy people; it may be higher on the internet.) You're cutting your pool of respondents .
2. You asked a question (the topic of the thread). People gave you an answer. YOU ARGUED WITH THE ANSWER. Quite aggressively.
From 1. and 2. I think you're more interested in doing things your way than in actually learning anything. My dear father once shut me up by saying "Nobody ever learned anything with their mouth open."
... and that's why I'm not helping with the original topic.

Well for one i just said in my last post, that no one is making you read what im doing, i have no idea what your 1. is all about....
Second... what did i argue with? you make no sense what so ever, so please...
i was clarifying what MY statement was... not arguing a point about something that i didn't know, and its not my fault that you would get all bent out of shape about it.
when the response to what i said was that... of some one that didn't understand what i was saying (being that they thought i felt there was no drop in prestige when i party with people from my VG and only meant that the drop was null in that i get it from the other people in the group)
but hey, like i said (and for some reason..... you also said... after i did.....), no one is making you read this.
so..... between 1 and 2, you make no sense..
thank you everyone for helping me understand how prestige works (in a better way then i have found on wikis) and for those, who have nothing better to do, im sorry. but still thank you for what you did put in.
and don't forget, no one makes you post, so don't post nonsense, no one cares....

Would love to help but the Wall of Red is almost as bad as the Wall of Text.
Enjoy your day please.
I've never ignored anyone on the boards before, but that red text just hurts my eyes. It's just not worth dealing with.

Well I'm glad we have permission from you to ignore your posts, because I'm going to. Bright red text on a blue background is painful to look at for small periods of time, let alone extended periods where people are trying to search through you BS to find the question/point you're trying to make.
Your question was answered, and you didn't like the answer. Too bad. People say your words are hard to read, but you don't want to change it because "it's easy for you to read". Tough luck. You're typing in an area where MORE THAN JUST YOU are, and if you want people to answer your questions and take you seriously, you'll have to edit your ME ME ME tendencies to make it easier on the people you're asking for help. Refusal to help those whom you're asking help from will get you nowhere, which should be clear by this point.

I was just wondering if people could show me the ways to a good guide, or let me in on any secrets that might help me get some more prestige for my VG.
Is it better to solo in order to get prestige? is the AE the best place to be getting it?
"invite more people" isnt really the answer im looking for, because i do that as much as i can.
