Prestige, what are some good locations/ways

No, YOU don't understand (hell, why are you arguing when you're the one that came in here asking how it worked?). The bolded part is complete non-sense, based on you completely misunderstanding what people wrote before to explain how it works. You're not 'penalized' less by having VG mates on the team. Your contribution to the SG/VG remains exactly the same whether everyone on the team is in your group, or none are. There's also no magical prestige added to the SG/VG on its own.

Whether you're teamed with the people from your VG, or teamed with random strangers, it makes no difference to the prestige earned by your group long as everyone that would have been earning prestige still is. Whether 8 of you are on one team, or spread over 8 teams, there's no difference to the earned prestige earned. Understanding yet?

You might want to check out this thread to find a better color that's readable on both forums. The one you're using isn't that readable unless it's in bold.

And the attitude of "I can use any color I want" will mostly be countered with everyone adopting the attitude, "I can ignore this self-indulgent poster and not help them out with their question until they learn common courtesy.

I lose prestige because its not going to me, its split over people that are not in my VG.

So... yeah... and im sorry that you dont get what im saying, and you just keep coming back and trying to say the same thing over and over, thinking that im somehow talking about an unknown bonus... when im not.

My point has, and always will be, that if i team with other people, im losing prestige to them. and if i team with people in my VG im losing it, but its going to my VG either way.

And you have to remember, i never said there was some bonus to having the people in my VG in my party, i just am talking about if they are in partys say.. not doing as good as mine.

and this being partly my contribution because im helping the team. i was never talking about the overall contribution to the VG and i was just talking about the best way for me to contribute. (not 8 people on 8 teams......)



and really that's all i have meant this whole time, but since everyone was more worried about the color of my text, and i had alot going on, i never got the chance to really explain it.

Why the fascination with text color? it's like someone just discovered how to do something on the forums and can't resist using it at every opportunity - especially since it takes extra tags to make it a color other than white.

Dunno what was said (OK, actually when I quoted it it appeared as black on white in my text edit box) but now don't even care enough to try to alter my reading habits to understand it - too much effort.

[/ QUOTE ]Or, their party is doing better than yours. It's a tactical choice, put all your eggs in one basket or diversify so that you'll have much better odds of finding a working team. At the end of the day, it makes no real impact as it'll even out over time.

the Prestige lost on individual kills is more than made up for by the fact that you're killing more enemies at a faster rate.

so by teaming, even if it's not with the people from your SG(they're still SGs on Villain side.. VG is stupid..) you're still getting more prestige in the long run.


in your examples, YOU aren't making the "full amount of prestige" your team is gaining prestige individually, it just happens to be that you're all on the same team.

The prestige YOU earn does not change.

I know, im sorry, i mean when i say me, is the whole VG (i use both VG and SG i cant help it, everyone i know in game uses VG, but when im on the forums everyone says SG) because i own it.

I know i myself am not making the prestige, but say... im one of the main guys on the team, killing the most people or however you want to look at it.
if im doing a lot, my efforts fall when trying to get prestige, if the people on my team, are in most part, not in my VG.

but if they where, and im still making most of the kills, it helps me a lot more (me being the VG owner still)




and im working on the avi, i just havn't had time, been in this post for my whole forum life....

THANK YOU for not using colours anymore. It's so much easier to read now.

And it doesn't matter who's making the kills, XP and Inf is equally divided among the team (drops are randomly assigned), as is Prestige. Drops are randomly assigned, I think.

I'm terrible at maths, so for all I know it may well be less Prestige to fight on a team, but if you have several members of your VG in the team, even if they're not the entire team, you'll be earning more Prestige, and the important part: [u]large teams defeat far more enemies much faster than a soloing character[u]. Time is money, and getting more done in less time generally makes more money. Of course, if the team is wiping on every spawn or two or just going slowly enough, you might be better off solo. It depends.

Actually, "trolling" doesn't mean "saying something you don't like". It means something more like "Making inflamatory posts in order to provoke an angry reponse."

I assume that if you take the time to type out a post, you want people to read what you write. At the very least, the more people that read it, the more likely you are to get a response from someone who knows what you are asking about and is inclined to help.

But the thing is, if you deliberately do something that makes your post hard to read, be it using annoy colors, writing a wall'o'text, or using grammar so bad it ought to come with subtitles, you're making us either jump through a hoop to read what you've written, or else ignore you. Many of us have a limited amount of time to spend on the forums. I for one have a full time job. The amount of time I can devote to any one task is limited. I will read and answer questions as best I can, but I will not jump through any hoops to do so. As you could tell from the response to your use of colors, I am hardly alone in this matter.

I wasn't telling you that I refuse to deal with your use of color to upset you. I was telling you that so you could decide for yourself if the use of color was more important to you than reaching at least one of your targeted audience members, and probably many, many more.

so... i reached who i wanted, talked about what i wanted. then made the trolls more upset, by still using my colors. and i myself am fine... with my colors, with this topic....



im not trying to reach some select amount of people.... so the people that cant respond, or don't want to, don't have to. its not like im going to care. ( i wont even know they are there)
if you look back to the beginning, i got a lot of answers.... and didn't say much, till my text became a problem, and not just a suggestion.....

not to mention like 5 times in a row, people said "blah, blah, blah.... red text" when there was no reason for that. (that's trolling, and trying to get post counts....)

Nope, we were trying to let you know that your chosen manner of expression was hard to read and annoying. Sure, that annoyed you, but that's not trolling. Unless, I guess, you stick to the "Trolling is anything I don't like or agree with" definination. If that is the case, well, no sense arguing, since you'd take that as trolling as well.

I do see that I was unclear about one thing though. I wasn't saying that you wrote in wall'o'text or horrendenous grammar.
