Galaxy Question

Is there any reason why Atlas has a Vault + Wentworth's and Galaxy doesn't? I prefer the comparative quiet of Galaxy but was just curious.

Ah, but Atlas has no Arena, and no Back Alley Brawler either, so there

Just because.

There is no Vault, WW, AE, Arena, Train or Trainer in the Shard Zones either. There are also no History plaques or Exploration badges there. Go figure! lol

WW and Vault go together. You don't get one without the other.

Anyways. Atlas does seem to get more things added to it than Galaxy.

Issue 2 - Atlas gets connected to the Hollows.

Issue 4 - Galaxy gets an Arena

Issue 7 - Atlas gets is how you get to Recluse's Victory

Issue 9 - Atlas gets WW and Vault

Issue 10 - Atlas gets Vanguard base

Issue 14 - Atlas and Galaxy gets AE

I would be far more likely to start in GC if WW opened a branch there than I am now.

This. The first time I started a character in Galaxy City and realized there was no WW there, I deleted and recreated the character, then started over in Atlas Park. I can't even find a story reason for there not to be a WW in Galaxy City. So... why isn't there?

There isn't an Arena in every zone. There isn't a University in every zone (they appeared well before Issue 9). There isn't a Vanguard outpost in every zone. Why should WW be any different. Personally I thought it was a mistake to have an AE in virtually every zone. I imagine this was done in expectation of a flood of players creating missions versus a flood of players looking to run missions.

Atlas was also favourable as it opened onto Perez Park in the middle of Hellion territory, whereas Galaxy opeend into Skull territory.

Hellions drop magic salvage, Skulls drop tech salvage. Magic salvage was an easy way to bankroll a new character back in I9.

I just think BackAlleyBrawler wants to keep it quit for the BackAlleyBawler.

My new warshade started in Galaxy, because that's where the warshade contact is.

Galaxy City has always been a redundant zone, sort of a spare Atlas Park to siphon off some of the load from the original. Consequently, just about everything there is like a poor knock-off of AP... functional, less traffic, but not quite as useful.

The exception to that being the arena, Galaxy City's one perk. Before WWs, at least, it was the only good place to buy insps if you were on a TF. That, and the one plaque there for the Atlas Medallion, are about the only reasons I go into Galaxy any more... Oh, and respecs... Let's not forget the repec contact lives there (Jack Wolfe??... is that the guy's name? You can see how famous he is.)

And none of the broadcast nonsense (and this is not an MA comment). Besides it's not like I need the market or storage before level 5 any way.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

The lease rates in Galaxy City are simply killer. I was going to open a sandwich shop there a while back, but I couldn't clear enough profit just to pay the rent on the building.

Personally, I blame the Arena. They build this fancy new stadium, and who do you think pays for it? That's right, local businesses. "It will create jobs!" my [censored].

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

Yeah, this. I usually don't get my first full load of salvage until right around time for me to move on to KR, so it works out.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

(I'm funded by the AE behind the shop.) lol

I like to market the large inspirations I get in the tutorial to start my toons off with a (sometimes) nice little bankroll. With no access to a WW in GC, I either have to hold onto them until I eventually get to KR, or run out of my way to AP to sell them. Other than that, I agree, there's no real need to add a WW to GC.

The large inspiration sell-off was the main reason I started my last few characters in Atlas rather than GC too. If I go back it'll be because Atlas has gotten too laggy but I haven't really noticed that yet.

But really, getting to the train station isn't that hard and WW isn't that far from the train in Atlas, just across a parking lot full of low level hellions. I bet you could level from 2 to 3 just making that trip.

Atlas Park has more stuff, because there are more players in Atlas Park.
