I've been told that by other Canadians quite frequently, actually - that McDonald's there serves actual food, with taste and nutritional value.

In regards to fast food, if I have a choice... I'll go Chick-Fil-A nine times out of ten.
That other time? Sometimes, you just crave something you're really not sure you can properly identify as food. For that, I have McDonald's, KFC, and Taco Bell.
If you don't believe me about KFC, you haven't worked there (or at least the local ones - they're frightening).

Amusingly, the one in our local mall has by far the most efficient line I've ever seen.
There's an ever present and changing crowd of people that stays roughly the same size all day, and they generally get orders spot-on. Every time I go there, they've got my order prepped and ready in under 10 minutes unless for some reason they need to wait on something to finish (usually because it was popular).
...every other fast-food spot (ignoring some of the pseudo-resteraunt and Asian places that actually do your order when you ask for it and not sooner) there, including the Subway, tends to have longer lines and wait times.
It's kind of awesome watching them work it. Only place I've seen turn orders around that fast is the Coffee Beanery.

I haven't gone to KFC in literally decades - since biting into a chicken leg and having the grease squirt pretty good distance.
Chick-fil-a isn't bad. We've got Pollo Tropical around here, too, though some of the locations have a dickens of a time getting orders *right.* I mean, how I can say "plantains" and end up with mac and cheese, I'll never know.
What I wish was closer to me was Baja Fresh. Not driving to Tampa or the Miami airport for it, even if it was good.

I will not go to McDonalds except for chicken nuggets. Anyone who says McDonalds fries are good has serious mental issues.
[/ QUOTE ]Wait... you hate their fries... but you'll eat chicken nuggets at McDonalds?
Maybe I've been spoiled by Chic-Fil-A, but I'd take waterboarding over eating McD nuggest.
And McD fries are the only thing edible on their menu, either.

I'd say the chicken is the only stuff I eat at McDonald's, but I've already admitted that I occasionally get cravings for things I'm not wholly sure is actually food.
So my opinion there may not be of much help.
...but even I avoid the beef and fish products!
I'm positive McD nuggets aren't actually food

Well, I like their breakfast.
Back when I was a young lad my best buddy and I had a tradition.
He was at home with a cast up to his hip as a resutl of a car accident, and I was working at the airport starting around 0330am, and finishing up around 0930. If I hurried I could get to the drive-thru before 10 when they stopped serving breakfast.
I would drive up and order 6 bacon'n'egg McMuffin meals, large sized (so that they each came with a large coffee/juice and 6 hash-browns). I'd take that [censored] to my buddy's place and we'd each eat three of those large-sized meals. We were usually done eating shortly after 1030 and we were done.
Like, done for the day.
My brother and I also had a tradition for a while with the regular meals. We called it "Teh Disgustorz!" (and we'd pronounce it that way). We'd each get a double big-mac meal, large sized and ten nuggets.
Oh, god, what a meal that was... but you felt like total butt for the rest of the day, and most of the week.

I really like steak. I hate tofu, though.
The grocery store I buy my food at sells both.
Do you honestly think it's reasonable for me to bang on the manager's door and demand that, because I hate tofu, that any money that I spend on steak should be used to further enhance the store's stock and inventory of steak, and that it specifically not be spent on maintaining the store's tofu stock?
[/ QUOTE ]Dude that is a horrible example as it just doesnt work in the modern day and age. When you buy something from a store, say a game, or movie or even food. That stuff comes out of inventory and the cost of it is paid by the customer. So you buying steak doesnt help tofu in anyway. I would assume the samething goes with CoX.

The point, despite whatever temporal inconsistencies you may find with the analogy (and, by the way, analogies are by their very definition inaccurate), is that once you've purchased a product or service you don't get to dictate to the vendor how they spend the money that is now theirs.

No offense Bill, but if I was interested in nutritional value I wouldn't be going to a fast food restaraunt in the first place.
I'm looking for 4 things when I hit a fast food joint.
1. I want it fast.
2. I want it cheap.
3. I want it greasy.
4. And when I bite into it I want to feel my lifespan shorten.
When it's bad for you it tastes soooooo goooood!
God I love these forums..... only here would we take a thread about NCSoft's internal business decisions and turn it into one about fast food quality.

Paying money to NCSoft: The best part about this thread is that when people say they pay their $15 a month so they should be able to (fill in the blank), we'll have to correct them and say only 8.95 goes to Paragon Studios.

Guess what?!
When you buy something from a business or vendor, be it a service or a product you take away, the money's theirs now, and they can do with it whatever they wish.
I know, but there it is...

If you feel that you have a moral obligation to make sure that any money that you give any vendor for any given product is used in an ethical or moral way, then act on that.
You don't, however, have the right to tell them how to spend money that now belongs to them.

To those that have provided more to this topic than just where they choose to eat and quips, replied with people that probably have more business sense and knowledge of how corporations work than I do (Arcanaville, EvilGecko, ArachnosElite and InfamousBrad, the rest, shame on you).
You actually took the time to type a reply that made a lot of sense and actually helped me see the other side of the view point in a way that was easily understandable WITHOUT being sarcastic, rude or just plain not helping. I achknowledge that what I had said in the original post was tantamount to inane drivel of someone who doesn't understand how these things really work.
Thanks to you four I probably will be spending money on the SUPERSCIENCE booster pack because I realise that by buying such a pack, I am making NCsoft stand up and notice that this game IS worth reinvesting the money we spend on it back into the company and then some from various other projects. Yes I know some of that money is going elsewhere but I really do suspect now that money from other games is being funnelled in to help their AAA western title to become truly great.
The rest, carry on you discussion about various fast food outlets you eat at, atleast those four listed actually helped to change my mind and see it from another viewpoint.
As for why I haven't replied in a couple of hours, I've been at work, where I do really wish Blockbuster would stop spending money on utter drivel like Meet the Spartans and it's ilk and focus on genuinely brilliant titles like the Wrestler (plus stop sending us 2 copies of games you know are going to sell out the day of release dangnabbit...Infamous and Prototype may not be the worlds greatest games but they're a good source of fun...the Michael Bay of games if you will, take them for what they are and don't expect more out of it).
Edit: Although this does raise further questions, Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault were judged on their own merits when the descision came to cancel them, would it have been worthwhile, especially in Tabula Rasa's case where it had turned into a fairly good game, to not use funds from elsewhere to keep it going?
To be fair there's probably overheads I'm not taking into account, employing staff to be GMs and community mods (plus their own dev team), the cost of running the servers and untold amounts of other much smaller things which add up to be a lot bigger than I can probably imagine.
Tabula Rasa seemed like a waste, it had only be out six months to a year before being canned, other MMOs have survived on the same numbers Tabula Rasa had at the time of its cancellation and even at launch the game was nowhere NEAR as bad as say Hellgate:London was (god that game was awful).
Was it a case of releasing too soon, not being tested enough, the development costs spiralling out of control (as InfamousBrad has mentioned) causing the money to run out in the testing phase of things?
Though I imagine that Tabula Rasa also had the same problem as Age of Conan has, first impression blues. The two games both had very real problems at launch, Age of Conan now struggles to gain subscribers because the first impression on release of the game was pretty poor, it wont matter how good Age of Conan gets, it will still suffer with that first impression.
Tabula Rasa would have had that very same problem thanks it is rather unsteady launch, even when it became, thanks to the tireless work of their devs, a pretty solid MMO (though it still had some problems), it still had that ghost of it's initial launch hanging over it, word of mouth had already spread.
Perhaps it was best to put Tabula Rasa down when it did, rather than to keep funnelling money into it from elsewhere to keep it a float to suffer a slow death.
