A new Elf Maiden now exists in Paragon city .. Mai'Kesh Gysse loosely translated that mean "The Clan of the Death Dancers" a group of Elves trained as the Elf King's own personal body guard and his assasins. LOL She has already finished with the lowly forces in Outbreak and awaits the arrive of 9PM Tuesday in Atlas Park.

Hehehe Okay I switched a bit and rolled an Arch/MM I have another like that and the 30+ level version is awesome.

/e nods respectfully to the Catgrrrl Tank and smiles

THIS could be fun! Could be??? WILL BE!

*staggers in, all wobbly limbed and collapses*

Water... water.. just got done mowing the lawn, and I am DONE with work today.

I'd say your safe with Dr Arcanus, Pogo. I mean you're talking about a largely unused last name of an in game lore character. It's like trying to go after someone with Banner in their name because that's the last name of the Hulk's alter ego... If they were that strict on names, the only options we would have would be things like Captain aaffd;kda. And I know we don't want any more of those.

SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.

I dunno, since he wrote his way through medical school and starting writing books with longer lists of references and sources than most people's theses?

*shrugs* There's less debate on climate change than you think. What's at question is actually whether humans have anything to do with it or not.

You're perfectly justified in continuing as is, to be honest, but I'd rather be more cautious; after all, generating renewable energy, relying more on mass transit, buying produce locally, eating less meat, all of these lessen the impact one has on the environment--and, in many cases, can actually boost the local economy, always a good thing.

It's not like Earths are a dime a dozen. Why take the chance?

Stephanie Meyer wrote her way to fortune as well, but that hasn't made her writing any less atrocious.

Philip K. Dick wrote his entire life and still ended up a pauper, even though he's clearly not a hack.

Just because people buy your work does not mean that your work is worthwhile.

As far as Crichton goes, he's all right, but I'd no sooner place much value on his scientific expertise than I would Robin Cook's medical knowledge.

Worst case, we kill ourselves off. Earth ain't going nowhere.

I'm one of the old-timers with my "Won't affect me and I don't have no grandkids... but yours are screwed" opinion. If you make my life more difficult to green it up a bit, I won't do it. As it stands I don't recycle. I have a garbage bag. Everything goes in it. That way I only have to take one bag a week out to the curb. I'll be long dead by the time it's an issue.

Very true. Honestly, I would prefer to see us err on the side of caution where the environment is concerned. I see not erring on the side of caution causing more potential problems in even other areas of life.

For instance, what is filling back up the empty caverns that fossil fuels are in right now and what sort of effect will it have on the way the earth is active tectonically?

What happens when we use up all the fossil fuels available? Do we want to just say its not our responsibility and leave it for our children or grandchildren?

Yes a change away from possible global warming situations to renewable energy is going to be expensive, but in the same time frame, it can produce more jobs overall between construction and switching to lowered costs at companies so they now have more funds available to hire workers (hey, its the same idea behind tax breaks).

BP! You murdered us all!!!!!!!!

Wait? Are we discussing a serious subject here?

/e shrugs. Long as no one pulls out knives.

:P

I'd rather we work towards a more efficient stellar-friendly body type. Seems to me the current model requires a lot of support.

I'd like one in titanium red please. Get to work scientists!

I don't place much on his scientific expertise, but I place a good bit more on his sources. And in the case of State of Fear, I've read nearly every single one. That material is written by scientists, not writers, and usually, you can tell. The advantage of Crichton is that whether or not he's your favorite writer, he generates material that is relatively easy to read. Unlike Nils-Axel Mörner, one might add.

Actually, there's a crapload of debate on whether there is global warming. Much like the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, one only is familiar with the activity if you're involved in it. There's debate if its occuring, debate if it is anthropogenic, and debate if carbon emission is related to it.

I'm all in favor of conservation, reducing pollution, and protecting the environment. That's why I have a career in that field, and spend a lot of my time researching it. But these things must be done efficiently and ethically. Engaging in large-scale campaigns of deception and propaganda is not right.

And if you think propaganda is a strong world, that's what the British public education system calls Gore's "Inconvenient Truth." And they're right. Regardless of whether the AGW is a valid theory, nothing in that film resembles the truth.
