Yes, however your implication that this is what is causing some of them not to work is flawed...the ones that aren't working are the ones that are the ones that are being assigned LESS than the ones that ARE working (1-4 are being used 5 times, 5-9 are only being used 4 times, and it's 6-9 that don't work in the submenus (and sometimes 5 isn't working either))

Thanks for assuming that was my point. My point is that this is an undocumented process that we don't know what rules apply.

Exactly how many of the options -are- working? How many aren't? Does adding an option in the top list decrease the amount in the submenus that work?

Now it becomes interesting. Once again, the ones that work are the ones numbered with the same numbers as the top level menus. Since I only used numbers for hotkeys, it makes it more obvious than it would be with letters or some other hotkeys that it appears the number of items in the top level is the limiting factor. Could it be that simple? let's find out:

Voila...this version works completely, even if you do have some annoying dummy menus. But is it really just how many lines there are in the top menu? So far that is the evidence...this would explain why it was so confusing early on...the first version had only 16 active submenu items, while this one has 47.

I must have misremembered having item 5 work before...but this gives us some insight into what we have to do to make more complicated popmenus function, at least for now.

Well, tomorrow I'll try out my "brutal" popmenu test. 36 main options (a-z 0-9) with 36 suboptions (a-z 0-9) each. The file is 1,408 lines long.

Loving this feature, except for one little thing: I've made a menu for my Warshade to switch out buffs/trays, but I need it to switch key bindings between Shadow Step and Black Dwarf Step, depending on form.

When I use an Option line with "bind_load_file" in it, I get a system message saying the bind file was successfully loaded, but it doesn't actually switch the binding. I know it's not an issue with my bind files, because they work fine when I use a keybinding or macro to load them. They just don't work with pop-up menus.

Anyone else had this problem or found a way to fix it? My menu file included below:

The binds are loaded, but you need to zone before they will take affect. It is a problem with the system and since it is unsupported, no fixes have appeared. Which is disappointing since I had made a healthy start on a hunting PopMenu switching around binds on the fly.

I just added the popmenu's for my Bot and Necro MM's. So much better now!!

However, I just noticed something odd, that may be related.

The popmenu button for emotes, on the chat bar, is greyed out and unclickable on all my toons now.

Is this a known issue, bugged for some, or did I mess something up?

I already had the Data folder, probably from vidiotmap, so all I did was add
texts\English\Menus\quickchat.mnu and then I copy pasted the MM menu's I DL'd courtesy of Kheldarn! Worked like a charm. So I'm unsure if it's related or just a bug I missed reading about.

The Chat Speechbubble icon is the QuickChat.mnu Popmenu.
You may want to reassign yours with another filename and top menu name and reload CoH, you will find that will in most cases fix it.

Notes for new Popmenu users:
1. It is an undocumented feature with NO support, which is why BindLoadFile doesn't work with it.
2. quickchat.mnu is the internal filename for the Chat windows Speechbubble Emotes Menu, be careful of overriding the original as you can lose it's functionality.
3. The Popmenu command uses the menu title and not the Popmenu's filename.
4. Buffing characters can set their numberpads to select team members then call up a popmenu of their buffs.

popmenu appears to have been disabled recently...I can't get them to work anymore. Or at least new ones, which is strange...is there a limit to how many MNU files the game will read at startup?

Whoops I did it again, screwed up my trials pop menu after updating for UG and keys and the new stuff, join still works and general shows with no selectable options, nothing under that, proofreading eyes appreciated.....

Yeah, those would break it. "Beginchat", not "Say". That will let you edit the line. "$$" is a no-no when designing a macro template, as that will try to execute anything after it. Put a space between the dollar signs.

Here is what I'm using for this one:
Option "Macro Disintegrated" "beginchat /macro DIS b HELP! I'M BEING DISINTEGRATED!$ $em whistle"
Option "Macro Powercells" "beginchat /macro Cells targetcustomnear terminal$ $powexecname power cell"

Notice the space between the double-$? That is to prevent breaking. Yes, you have to manually edit it on the character after using it, but it does work.

So, to confirm, there is no way to set the Option hotkey to a non-single character, like a numberpad key or F1 or something?

I have my reasons (mouse turning is borked in Linux), but I play CoH with a gamepad. I make it work, but I found popmenu today and thought it would be perfect for being able to make one button open a "travel power" menu that I could then select from using one of the gamepad keys, but it doesn't work since it doesn't seem to allow anything more than just the char with the amp be the hotkey. Is there a way around this restriction?

I really, really would like to have this work.
