  1. From Paragon Wiki:

"The exemplar does not lose the benefits of enhancement slots gained above that level; however, all her enhancements may provide universally reduced benefits depending both on how high her actual level is and how far down she is exemplared."

    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Malefa...r.2FMalefactor

So you're good to go there.

On a side-note, however, If you're using an enhancement with a proc, it may be deactivated by malefactoring, depending on the level of the enhancement. For this reason, some players prefer to get the lowest level of proc enhancements possible, since the level doesn't affect the numbers on the proc. (unless all this has changed recently. I haven't really kept up with changes to the game made in the last-um-year or so.
  2. Heh I was going to comment on this after double-checking my memory about how Mids' "In-game respec helper" lists things, but then ran into an interesting bug that it appears you have already reported over on the TitanNetwork forums.

Anyway. I've always thought the Mids respec helper would be even more helpful if had an option to display things in the order you do them on a respec. i.e. list of powers in order chosen, then slots in order chosen, and then list all enhancements grouped by power. But as it is, still a huge time saver.
  3. I think all of you guys worrying about the stuff from Super Boosters being more expensive aren't just looking at the glass half full, you've somehow managed to overlook some of what's in it.

If you have been and continue to be a subscriber, then before you had to pay an extra $10 bucks or so for Super Boosters. Now, you can get it all for free (eventually) with the 500 market points you're allocated each month.

That hardly looks like an SOL scenario for those of us who haven't bought all the Super Boosters. At least not to me.

I suspected as much. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing, especially regarding IOs. I still find all sort of neat IO bonuses I didn't know existed. Which is why in the (hopefully near) future, I'll be posting a Kheldian build here so someone can tell me why I wasted slots here and should have put them there for such-and-such enhancement and all that jazz.
  5. Dechs Kaison:

I read your guide about a week ago. Great stuff. But unfortunately, most of your advice about dealing with mezzers is not available to me at my level, and even at 50, will not be available when running lower-level TF/SFs, but I'll do what I can. Ideally, I would be on a team where this is a non-issue, but I often find myself soloing of late.

Seems everyone who isn't level 50 would rather run AE farms that actually play the game.
  6. I think the title pretty much spells it out. Fighting enemies with lots End Drain (Freakshow, Mu)seems impossible on my Warshade, unless I'm in a group where someone else is tanking or giving an End Drain resistance buff.

Any advice for dealing with End draining enemies when I'm the closest thing my team has to a tank and we have no End Drain resistance, or when soloing? Hoping at higher levels I'll be able to lock enemies down with Gravitic Emanation long enough that it won't matter, but right now, I don't have the slots for it (level 29).

Should I just shun and avoid these villain groups until higher level when my Mez powers have more umph?
  7. Loving this feature, except for one little thing: I've made a menu for my Warshade to switch out buffs/trays, but I need it to switch key bindings between Shadow Step and Black Dwarf Step, depending on form.

When I use an Option line with "bind_load_file" in it, I get a system message saying the bind file was successfully loaded, but it doesn't actually switch the binding. I know it's not an issue with my bind files, because they work fine when I use a keybinding or macro to load them. They just don't work with pop-up menus.

Anyone else had this problem or found a way to fix it? My menu file included below:

    Freedom? Hardly

Reading this post reminded me of a little in-game feature I had forgotten about because it didn't seem to have much utility, but if enabled for free accounts will probably start getting a lot more use: The 'Friends' chat option, which will send a message to everyone on your friends list (not global). This, if available to free players, will be a pretty decent substitute for tells/broadcast.

Let's just hope it doesn't get abused and taken away. That's hoping for a lot, I know.
  9. Tunnel Rat-

First of all, thanks for taking a few minutes to answer questions on Ustream during the unexpected server downtime earlier this week. That was awesome. And I hope it means we'll be seeing a color tint-able version of the Elemental Dark version of the shield that someone asked you about.

I just unlocked the Incarnates Binary Aura and the animation on it is fast. Really fast. Like can't even tell it's supposed to be ones and zeroes fast. I saw a video on YouTube of the aura that was much slower. Is this an issue for everyone now, or is it just my hardware being screwy? I haven't seen anyone else in-game using this aura before, and I wonder if this is why. The much slower-animated one I saw a video of looked very cool.

If I need to file this as a bug, please let me know. Also let me know if a short video would be helpful. Wouldn't mind posting one on YouTube and including link in bug report.

Also, I would really dig it if you could look into editing the Kheldian costume change emote (I'm thinking specifically of Warshade, not sure whether Peacebringer is same way). As it is, you can clearly see your character model at the moment the costume actually changes, where most-if not all-other costume change emotes have some effect to completely hide your character model at that moment. Already I really like using this emote on my Warshade, but if there were some extra opaque tendril effects right on top of my character model so you don't actually see the costume change, that would be awesome!

Edit: speaking of Kheldian effects, could you consider dropping the eye effect on enemies hit by Starless Step? To me it seems like something you would expect from a buff and doesn't make a lot of sense on enemies.

Thanks for all your hard work. I look forward to seeing the Halloween you were talking about on Ustream. =)

    Sweet thanks for the tip.
This also probably explains what's wrong with my custom pop-up menu.
  11. Just recently used this to setup some macros for my warshade.

The idea was to use a macro to toggle on (or off) a form shift, switch power trays, and if switching to human or dwarf form, then to load a key bind file for Shadow Step or Black Dwarf Step, as the situation called for.

At first when I edited the buttons, I didn't do the last part about loading the key bind file. So later I added that, but the last part (i.e. "$$bind_load_file c:\cohbinds\autoblackdwarfstep_off.txt")keeps disappearing, presumably when I change zones or go in or out of missions.

Worked fine when I used normal, ugly macro buttons.

    Thoughts?

  13. I've stumbled across a couple of threads on the forums where people are offering to trade Permanent Costume Code powers, and since I was just awarded one in a Training Room stress test, I have some questions:

First of all, I can't find anything in the forum rules about this, and don't recall anything in the EULA (yes, I've read most of it) about any prohibitions, but I want to make sure:
NCSoft has no problem with us trading these codes?

Second, if trading the codes is okay, does anyone have any advice on making sure a code you trade for is legitmate and not just made up or already used? I would hate to trade the one I have only to get shafted.

Third, if I get satisfactory answers to the first two quesions, does anyone have an unused Ring Mistress costume code they would like to trade for an Olympian Guard? I might even settle for a Knives of Artemis.
  14. Of course I would expect a damaging IO proc to aggro. I just see no reason why we can't discriminate between a damaging IO proc and a recharge debuff.

But mostly I'm just irritated that after respeccing my Night Widow, it took a while for me to realize why I kept getting aggro with my Smoke Grenade. Really wish there were some in-game documentation to warn about this sort of thing for those of us who don't spend hours on wikis or forums researching this game's mechanics and just simply play the damn thing.

The -Perception and -toHit debuffs on Smoke Grenade are not debuffs?

I assumed (incorrectly, obviously) that since these debuffs on Smoke Grenade to not generate aggro, then other debuffs generally don't generate much (if any) either.
  16. Well I can understand a damage proc aggroing, but -Recharge?

Maybe I'm being greedy, but I'd like to see this not gain any aggro.

Anyone else notice this or heard any word from the dev community about it?

  20. I've seen a lot of problems with trench coat sleeves opening at joints and showing the chest piece underneath. It seems especially bad with the new witch chest pieces. Took several screenshots and posted them on photobucket. Not sure whether this is a factor or not but my video card is Nvidia 9600 GSO 512
