Actually, that's not a bad idea.

I get a lot of cardio at my job delivering pizza to three story apartment buildings with no elevators. I've actually LOST weight recently.

If you spend all day every day playing this game, then yeah, maybe you are getting fat. Do something about it. Posting on a forum doesn't count as exercise.

Unless you do it with wrist weights and a weighted mouse.

I have a high metabolism. I've been at about 155 pounds (I'm 6'3") for the last few years despite getting not enough exercise.

I dont know how anyone could just sit on their tuff all the time.

My life is very busy. Work at my studio/play in a band, work at home(yard work, home improvements), work on my hotrods, and the wifes car,( I race at 75-80 Dragway and south mountain every summer) MA for the past 17-18 years or so, nightly walks with the wife and new little one. I hate lazy and dont understand it. Been busting my rearend since I was a little kid.

I say get off your tuff and do something. The game can wait till you are rundown from a busy day. Thats what I do, although I havent logged on in the past 2-3 days. Been to busy with everything and mostly my new daughter. I have only been getting 2-3 hours sleep every night since the 14th of May.

Throw in laps in the pool when I get home, and yes you have it. My 5 -7pm playtime drops to near zero in the summer.

If you are at a certain age then ummm, not much you can do about at least a mild gut. I remember when I was in my teens and twenties, I always said I would never have a gut. I should had kept my mouth shut. I'm nowhere near over wieght, but I have a little gut. Mostly from when I used to drink all the time even though it was mostly wiskey

6'6 235 pounds, it's about right for my height.

QR: That's a joke, right? Eat well, exercise, etc. and you'll be fine. Or come up with a better excuse than, "The video games made me gain weight."

then go to the gym? its not that hard. i have been a weight rat since long before i played coh. I attribute that to be part of the reason i never did one of those insane 8 hour gaming days you guys talk about...id start going nuts about 4 hours in and have to take a walk.

Diet, exercise, or a combination of both.

Estimate your ideal weight. If you wish to maintain the same weight, skip this step. If you wish to change your weight, note the ideal weight calculated, adjusting upward or downward if you happen to know that you're unusually big or small framed.

Estimate your basal metabolic rate. If you wish to maintain the same weight, input your current weight. If you wish to change your weight, input your ideal weight as estimated above. This calculator is accurate for adults only!

The number of calories you eat daily should equal your basal metabolic rate plus the average number of calories you burn daily doing exercise. If you do no exercise, that's fine (it makes the math easy and gives you more time for City of Heroes), but make sure you get all the fiber, protein, and nutrients you need on the limited amount of calories you're allowed. Also keep in mind that exercise has health benefits other than maintaining healthy weight; it is protective against osteoporosis, hypertension, etc.

Example: I'm a 5' 9.5" 30 year old male. My current weight is 150#. I have selected an ideal weight of 145# because I'm unusually small boned and not very muscular. My basal metabolic rate at 145# will be about 1648 calories per day. I'm very active, burning an average of 300 calories per day exercising. I will gradually reach and maintain my ideal weight if I eat about 1648 + 300 = 1948 calories per day.

I've lost 65 pounds in the time that I started playing CoH. True story.

It's ok with me if the devs want to make a series of commericals that comment on that fact and turn me into the next Jared.

Thanks, Catwhoorg! I've been in a very long plateau and have recent gained back a couple of the pounds, but I'm getting back on track. Small ups and downs are ok, but I'll never go back to my old lifestyle. New habits are hard to break.

Plateaux (I think thats the correct spelling for multiples) are the bane of everyone who is trying to lose weight.

I try to add an exercise session, even just a 20 walk min at lunch, as my way to break through them, doesn't take much to tip the balance back to where you want to be.

Being the math geek I am, when I was losing the wieght I gained during (and after) my wifes battle with cancer, I plotted a point daily on a chart. A pound up or down didn't bother me, as you could see the trendline going the right way, the whole time.

That worked for me, other people really dont need to be weighing daily as they do freak out over any small gain, and forget the dozen small losses than went before.
