Soulbound Allegiance and Imps

The Devs don't care about the paying customers time spent in game to build their toons. Just go with it and praise them a lot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well given that the entire reason for this change is to prevent more people from spending big inf on a useless IO, I'd say that pretty much invalidates your claim of "they don't care."
And before you say something like "if they cared they'd fix the bug", you have no idea how deep in the code the bug goes. Obviously if it was the same amount of work to put in the warning as to fix it, they'd just fix it.

They must fix this terrible exploit!!!

A L50 toon that exemplars down is ... still a 50, but her combat level (I believe that's the right term) has been clipped.
An Imp is /never/ 50. An Imp is never summoned at 50. An Imp is, tops, 49. An Imp is not a 50 that's exemped down to 49. An Imp is, for all intents an purposes, a L49 toon that cannot have the stats of its powers modified by a purple because purples only work on 50s.
Exemplaring does not factor into this /at all/.
[/ QUOTE ]
an imp cannot get any recharge bonus, thus proving it is not a toon and can be affected differently. Fix it.

Raise Imps level back up to even with the caster.
Give imps inherent acc, def, res, and dmg debuffs to make them the same power that they were at - to the caster, only with the code seeing them as lvl 50.
Sure, there may be practical reasons why it's not that easy, but conceptually it should be that easy, no?
Just to add: I have to agree (*shudder*) with EvilRyu on this one. It's really not fair for one pet powerset among all the others to lose out on the purple pet set. Parents: sometimes your kids are being immature and just complaining. Other times, things are Actually not fair. Calling it what it is does not automatically reveal immaturity.
[/ QUOTE ]
That still doesn't solve the problem where exemping to any other level makes it so the imps don't benefit.
[/ QUOTE ]
What I am saying is this:
Fix the problem for level 50 Fire Imps. Exemplared folks and MM pets other than the Boss would still be SoL, for sure.

WRONG!
An imp can get recharge bonuses.
However, it's only power is brawl, and just like the New T9s and the various bought powers like the self destruct and mission teleport, Imp's version of brawl is marked to ignore all recharge effects/bonuses.

A reason why hack solutions are generally the worst solutions.
EDIT : And that would only fix it for fire imps.
They would have to go through and do it for EVERY henchman that never spawns at level 50, as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't apply debuffs; use the existing exemplar code. Masterminds always summon their henchmen at their level; when you get two tier-1 henchmen, they're ex'ed one level down, when you get three, they're ex'ed two levels down. Fire imps are always ex'ed down one level from the summoner.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, they would have to go through and do it for Every henchman and pet that never spawns at level fifty.
[/ QUOTE ]
That might not even work -- what happens if the toon exemplars? You create exemplars of exemplars? That sounds like one of those things that'd cause all sorts of unforseen problems.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not "exemplar of exemplar", it's a single exemplar. You have your level 50 Fire/Kin Controller. They summon level-50 Fire Imps, who are automatically exemplared one level to 49. The Fire/Kin joins a team to do the Manticore Task Force, and is exemplared to level 35. During the TF, they summon level-35 Fire Imps, who are automatically exemplared one level to 34. The character always summons pets at their current effective level; the pet power automatically exemplars those pets when they're summoned.
"But in our enthusiasm, we could not resist a radical overhaul of the system, in which all of its major weaknesses have been exposed, analyzed, and replaced with new weaknesses."

simple solution. make purple sets be allowed to be slotted and used at 48+. this would take care of everything all at once with only one change.
that wouldn't help the Exemplar problem at all.
That Would solve the lvl 50 Fire Control and MMs issues.

As seen on Test, with the proc BU slotted against the dummies in RWZ:
Imp: your attack strength has increased temporarily.
Just FYI and all that.
Edit for quick numbers:
Regular damage against a 52 Council boss:
44 18 18
Damage after proc text shows up in chat:
62 25 25

So you're saying it DOES work even though they are not 50??

Yes, it looks like we got this fixed. We're testing it now for inconsistencies. Once we're satisfied with it, we'll remove the text we added.

Again its still a weak cop-out just like all the other invention and pet stuff. First it was the taunt sets, then they gut all pets for recharge, and now this. Seriously if they cant work around the system then they need to hire someone who can. Its just not fair.

Whhhhhaaaaaaahhhhh.
I might not like all the things the devs have done, but I do know that 1.) they play the game, too; 2.) that they are trying to make the game better; and 3.) Paragon /has/ hired people who can tweak, fix, and massage 6+ years' worth of spaghetti code, which is no small feat.
Ok, I have been staring at concrete joist bluelines from 1921 too long today Castle.....
Do they now get the bonuses from the Soulbound set or not?
Just asking cuz I be confused....per normal

In most cases, they should.

While the Patch Note said that it was the Soulbound set that wasn't working, it appears to have been that NO Purple IOs worked in any pet summoned at lower than level 50. This was the case whether the pet was sub-50 due to mechanics as Imps and tier 1/2 MM henchmen are, or due to Ex/Mal.
Soulbound Allegiance is now working in Imps on the Training Room at L33 (with me Ex to L34).
Given that, it seems probable that now all Purple IOs will work in pets regardless of what level they are summoned at.

I have this set on a fire/kin. Could you tell us cases where it won't give the correct bonuses? It would help me decide if I should slot out of it or not.
You mean to say, that my fire imps are getting NO accuracy or damage boosts from that set?
They are effectively only slotted with endurence discount of summoning, and on summoning recharge time reduction?

In i14: Yes
In i15: No
They currently do not work as they should in pets, but they are now being fixed.

I believe it would describe the interior of his/her environment. Likely, it describes a location at which he works, and is thereby not able to leave... hence staring at random objects (like the ceiling). I could be wrong.
I would guess it means he's been looking at drafting plans to a building built in 1921. But that's a WAG type of guess.

Okay, bear with me as it's allergy season and between the meds and grasses getting it on near my brain, it's hard to think.
For an MM does this mean that only the tier 3 pet gets the Soulbound Allegiance bonuses, or not?
