I did this with a couple SG mates and we were splitting the profits. It was something we did for maybe 15-45 min about five or six times. It was good money at the beginning.

Thanks appreciated but unwarranted as the effort was less than impressive. I just wanted to get the numbers out there for those wondering.

My drop rate is approximately 100-110 kills per recipe (sample of 40 recipes) with 1 unique.

I believe it has been stated that the cool down is 10 minutes, didn't see any drops that contradicted this,.. mind you wasn't watching the whole time. Never have seen more than 2 drops in a 30 minute arena event from the same opponent.
Update: just had a panacea proc drop about 10 minutes ago,..sweetness
hrm...did this for 3 hours myself
150 kills on my Mastermind - 1 drop
180 kills on my Controller - 2 drops
nothing too fancy, but made about 40 mill between all 3 drops.
Are the rates different out of arena PVP? I must have been in BB for 2 hours and was getting 1 in 200.
Also does level range affect the drop rate?

Yes it does. You need to be within 3 levels.
Went to RV early Saturday just for the first time since Issue14 hit live. Was on my DM/SR Scrapper and got attacked by a Brute w/ a heavy and Veat. During the fight another hero came to assist but I managed to snag both kills. I got a PvP IO drop from the Veat so my drop rate is 1 out of 2
Too bad it only sells for 10 mil. It was the PBAoE Acc/Dam IO

due to the drop system as i understand it the first one will always come faster than the 2nd.
I almost think that the first time you are eligible for a new drop the rate is significantly increased. I noticed that when purples came out almost all of my eligible toons got one within the first 24hours. but since then the drops i've gotten have been much more spread out. On the order of once every week or two weeks rather than everyday as initial rates would seem to imply. This could be a result of behind the scenes tweaking by the devs or intentional coding. not really an easy thing to test.
It would be interesting to link WW/BM to the drop system so that high prices or low quatities would increase the rate and high quatities and low prices would decrease the rate thus balancing the market. Obviously that could make things get hairy as people try to play with the market to increase their rates. If the adjustments are small say no more than 5% then it may work out. It may be worthwhile if it's no longer a lifetime achievement to thoroughly spec out a toon.

I must be doing something wrong here... i've been trying to figure out the drop rate on blue side for days now. I'm using a lvl 50 controller against two lvl 50 defenders. Averaging 60-70 kills per match and have been in 7-8 matches and have still not seen any pvp drops. Any ideas. This was also a controller that was slotted pre IO days. And i haven't since used him to collect any other IO receipes.
That is certainly not the norm Posi.
I typically use a fire/kin to defeat a scrapper (lower resists) and I average about 1 recipe every 80 kills. I THINK I have gone that long before without getting a drop, but I have also received three recipes in the span of 15 minutes before (get one, switch to other character and get one, then switch back and get another.)
Keep at it, it should even out.

I'm right at 1 in 80 as well (per rough estimates).

I farmed for about 150 kills... 0 drops
I actually PvPed for oh say... about 100 kills... got 3 drops -- 2 came from RV, 1 from a 3v3.
It almost feels like there is some sort of code they put in to prevent farming for em, but your results say otherwise. =/
This is retarded, I've been using two accounts, using a Fire/Kin Controller vs an Ice/Ice blaster and still nothing. I'm going on 2 hours now and the only drop that I've gotten was a stupid Pneumatic Piston.

I'm getting an average of 1 drop per 70 kills using a fire//psi dom(killer)and a elec//kin(corr) killee.If I hit a dry spell I bring in a defender(killee) til I get a drop then back to the original setup. I do not know the reason why doing crossfaction seems to kickstart a more consistent droprate.Just posting my experiences.

If my calculations are correct the drop rate on these in my instance appears to be around one recipe per 93 pvp kills. Out of those drops 2 were uniques, or 1 of 14.
Just some hard numbers for those wondering about the drop rates on these.
