Alright so as of late I've been having the urge to re-build my first character, and with some lucky drops and a decent stockpile of reward merits, I think I'm ready to do this (except for part of the Hecatomb set, but I'll just fill in what I need with normal IOs and replace as I get it all).

The build is softcapped, recovers 3.1eps and will have 102.5% global recharge (including Quickness).

I'm just looking to see if there is anything I can do to tighten this build up a bit without making any major sacrifices.

Concerns that I have right now are the lack of self heal (I've never had heal self on this character and wouldn't know what to sacrifice and fit it in), low resistance to S/L, no travel power, though with the ability to purchase raptor packs I'm not really that concerned, and that my end bar is going to stay on the positive side things and not leave me gasping and dead from a toggle drop in the middle of a large group of angry Romans.

I'd like to join you guys, 2 of 2 Shield/Dark Currently 27, probably squeeze out on or two more levels by wed.

Thanks for the Trojan heads up, got them, hopefully they stay gotten rid of. I'll be sure to double check after next start up.

Not sure thats the case, run Crysis and Far Cry 2 just fine with SLI, and because CoH isn't getting to any point that has any sort of real graphics, was crashing right after logging in, couldn't get as far as in game.

Ahah. Drivers were fully up to date, but forgot that the newest drivers had actually enabled SLI for my cards under vista. I enabled SLI and I think that may have actually be when the problems started. Now that I've disabled SLI it's working just fine.

Ok, so came back from being away all summer, go to load up CoH, everything is going fine until I try and login. Instead of logging in and bringing up server selection, it restarts my computer. Try it a couple of times, just to see if it is an isolated incident. Continues to occur with no successful loads. Verify does nothing, even re-installed CoH and that did nothing.

Haven't installed any new hardware or software. Only update to Windows was service pack 2, but the restarts were occurring prior, and continued after.

Forgot to include that I did what Zloth suggests in his/her Common Solutions thread to bring up the blue screen of death vice an automatic re-start and no joy. Also found CohHelper but can't get logs as my computer restarts.

In fact if you're playing tonight I'll run with you till you have to log off, just let me know what server and I'll be waiting in Outbreak.

Roll a new character. Streep sweep or do the intro missions till level 5. Go to Kings Row. Do Newspaper missions till you get the safe guard mission. Complete it. Get the flight pack (raptor pack IIRC).

The first major story arc that you can experience is in the hollows, interconnected contacts telling the story of a zone. I'm not sure if you'll be able to complete it by level 14, but I think you can.

When you start, you are basically someone who has just discovered they have powers, whatever they may be. Did Superman save the world when he was 16? No, and its not that way here, though as you progress from stopping muggings, to protecting zones, you will, and you will encounter many different zones, with many different villains.

Considering the size of zones, even with sprint it shouldn't take more than a couple minutes to cross a zone, but when you get a travel power you can cross the entire city from Peregrine Island to Atlas in minutes depending on your load times.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of AI, so I can't really answer that one.

Personally, I've been playing since Issue 1 and the only time I haven't played is when I'm out of town or out of the country. The only thing I find boring about the game is farming after more than a couple runs.

I put them up, just in case someone wants them. If they sit for more than a couple of days, I vendor them, more so that I can put up other stuff, than because I don't want them up there.

Try cranking down your graphics settings. I had the same problem till I did that. Other than that, dunno.

And I guess after some of the things I've seen on the boards, I only doubt it because I've never seen it.

Rad/sonic is a beast, doubtful that emp could, as it has no internal way to boost damage, or debuff res/def/regen. Dark/ would probably be decent too.

You're only soft-capped to melee with one person in range, at 40% to ranged and AoE.

Honestly, you shouldn't consider your self softcapped unless it's with no one in range, as bad things happen and you can find yourself alone. You don't HAVE to be softcapped, but it surely does help, especially against anything with debuffs as you will quickly have no defense once attacks start hitting. I noticed a huge improvement in my SS/SD once I softcapped, especially on ITFs/Rikti Raids etc.
I can easily do the RWZ challenge with two mobs (Arcana's challenge elludes me still), the only thing that slows me down is endurance, especially when rage/hasten decide to crash in quick succession, and active defense fires.

How is this a technical issue or bug?

My guess? By reducing the amount of inf in the game it may cause things to be listed for less, thus in a way stabilizing the in game economy. Purely speculation though, unsure of the OPs intent here other than destroying inf.

This is true but only as far as it goes. I have an item that I have been flipping, buying it for around 4000 and relisting it for around 200k. Small time stuff but it makes seed money for my lowbies. The anybody who could buy it would have to either bid more and wait, or hope to get it at my price when all my orders were filled.

Good luck on that, I have a pretty good handle on how many come to market and I have no trouble keeping bids out there for them.

Price remains what people pay for it.
In the case of his mythical flipping endevor, you can pay 4001 and wait a bit, or pay 200k if you absolutely must have it NAO.

Here's a Protip for dealing with people who flip low-ish supply stuff- you can nearly always find their 'buy price' in the last 5.

eg:

5231
45,000
45,000
5231
45,000

Look around next time you're on the market, you can find a lot of niches just by paying attention.

If you're EEEEBIL like me, you can make some fast inf piggy-backing on their hard work. In the example above, throw in a couple of ten-stack bids for 5232.

As a pioneer in the LotG flipping field, let me note there is absolutely nothing stopping you from bidding 31 million and beating out this hypothetical eebil price fixer.

And there's no such thing as an "artificial" price in this game- barring typos, buyers pay what an item is worth to them. If the item is scarce enough and useful enough, that price can be very high indeed.
