CoH makes my computer restart

Ok, so came back from being away all summer, go to load up CoH, everything is going fine until I try and login. Instead of logging in and bringing up server selection, it restarts my computer. Try it a couple of times, just to see if it is an isolated incident. Continues to occur with no successful loads. Verify does nothing, even re-installed CoH and that did nothing.

Haven't installed any new hardware or software. Only update to Windows was service pack 2, but the restarts were occurring prior, and continued after.

Forgot to include that I did what Zloth suggests in his/her Common Solutions thread to bring up the blue screen of death vice an automatic re-start and no joy. Also found CohHelper but can't get logs as my computer restarts.

First thing i would do is make sure my video drivers up to date, although you might have seen that in other tips, just checking. Second looking threw the log file i see a few strange items, download Malwarebytes and let it do a quick scan to see if theres any spyware. But basicly the cox is loading and crashing and it could be a few things. But if all the drivers are upto date, and theres no spyware, reinstalling didnt help. we could assume theres a hardware problem somewhere and youd have to bring your computer to a repair center, (not geeksquad) and have them check it out. Ahah. Drivers were fully up to date, but forgot that the newest drivers had actually enabled SLI for my cards under vista. I enabled SLI and I think that may have actually be when the problems started. Now that I've disabled SLI it's working just fine.

Id guess that the SLI enable caused both cards to pull large current on CoX startup.. more than your power supply could handle. You might want to investigate your power supply to see if its enough to handle your cards.

Not sure thats the case, run Crysis and Far Cry 2 just fine with SLI, and because CoH isn't getting to any point that has any sort of real graphics, was crashing right after logging in, couldn't get as far as in game.

It appears you are infected with at least one trojan, possibly more. Also, several unneeded processes, and several that need to be fixed.

I would highly suggest you goto this site, enter in your file and do what it says to clean your system.

Thanks for the Trojan heads up, got them, hopefully they stay gotten rid of. I'll be sure to double check after next start up.
