Issue 15: Make your own damn story, you have the tools you lazy gits....oh fine, heres something we knocked out in 20 mins....add some merits and call it a Task force... voila

[/ QUOTE ]
Ironically, it's still better content than 90% of MA content

[/ QUOTE ]

I could go to sleep on my keyboard and write better content than 90% of whats in MA

[/ QUOTE ]
And yet, that stuff still gets 5 stars

I15 is yet another light issue with not much appeal. I14 has been the only big deal to come out since I have been playing (joined after i11).

I know the DEV team was minimal for a bit but they still charged us full sub. price during that time. Now with a rather large staff the game seems to be producing new stuff a bit more frequently. Unfortunately most of the new stuff is lame

The new costume patterns are weak.

Yeah, the MA is a cool feature but there is way too much crap in it. I am sure friends and SGs rate each others material 5 stars. The system is open to abuse.

The DEVS really should have wiped all ratings to 0 when i14 went live. That might have helped weed out some of the crap.

Dont forget issue 13 was actually called Architect and was the "meat" of that issue untill they pulled it out and gave it its own. It should have been in place last year so from one point of view we are 6 months into the year without any updates, merely what we should have had in i13.

i15 is a terrible issue, how they were unable to push out that mediocre TF/SF for the anniversary (you know, the name of the issue and all) is beyond me. Also on the patch notes it looks to me that they are including anything and everything (and half of it is listing the badges they are taking out) and double spacing to make it look like there is more in it

* Fixed typo in something!!!!!

I cling to the hope that i16 will be magical, they have got to have been doing something with their time and it sure isnt in i15.

i15: Here's some crappy costume pieces for free

[/ QUOTE ]I'm with this one. I'm usually pretty upbeat about COH, but after logging into test, I really wouldn't call this a new issue. You get the distinct feeling that they are holding back all the good costume pieces for the paid expansion. A couple TFs and some stuff they meant to include in the Architect do not make a new issue. I hereby christen this Issue 15: Leftovers !

[/ QUOTE ]
Um, yes, isn't that generally how it works? If you're told not to do something and you do it anyway, you get punished for it. Surprisingly enough, you're not actually entitled to just do whatever you want.

Yep, with i14 came the note that exploiting and farming is not what the MA is about, and actions would be taken against those caught.

[/ QUOTE ]

And if you're not told, then you may not know until it is already too late.

Does everyone who has ever used an exploit in a published mission know what they did? Every writer? Every player on a team? Every mission leader?

No. I know of too many exploits, some blatant, some not blatant, some accepted as simple design paradigm in very common usage by both farmers and SFMA writers, some live, some already fixed, to believe that.

In fact last night my duo teammate, when we were playing a mission, said that if he had ever seen “that” before he would have used it in his MA mission.

Well, I had just stopped us in our mission. “That” was an exploit. He didn’t know. We were stopping to leave the mission at my insistence. I had already reported the exploit to Mod08 a week ago.

My point? He didn’t know “that” was available as an option. If he did, he’d have been using it in his mission innocently. I predict some people are. Not everyone is an exploiter.

Hypothetically, if I had known about Batzuul Imps being an option when I was first working on an arc in Beta I might have written an arc for those, COT Behemoths, my Fire/Fire Tank Prometheus Unchained and his evil Praetorian Fire/Fire Brute sister Cassandra Pyre using the Cimeroran maps instead of what I did. Fire, family feuds, Greek gods, and betrayal instead of Crey, Arachnos, Council, Nemesis, Malta, KoA, Rikti, and Major Crisis.

And then suddenly… bam… I would have been an evil exploiter without even realizing it. I wouldn’t have known until someone told me because I didn’t test that first arc until I was done writing all the text details (not bright, but true). I would have noticed the Batzuul 5hp given they pop like balloons, but if they'd been like Rikti monkeys in difficulty then I wouldn't have noticed a thing. If they'd given disproportionate xp I wouldn't have noticed at all.

If hundreds of people had started playing my arc like it was crack when it went live... I would have wondered what was going on. I would have asked and found out and taken it down.

Exploit usage can be an accident. You can write an exploit into an arc by accident. You can choose an arc by accident. You can be on a team by accident.

The devs can even punish you by accident. Ask the level pacters.

It's not a slur against Native Americans, but against the US government which took back land that it gave to them. The American goverment is what the slur applies to. It's not racial in that sense. At least that is how I meant it.

If it offends, how about:

I spent two weeks writing my first MA. Believe me, I'm very glad I didn't use any exploits as a vital part of it, or any part of it at all. I'm extremely glad that the RWZ map wasn't yanked. If the RWZ map or the Rikti as a faction are ever pulled my arc is screwed, I'll have no choice but to unpublish because the arc is unviable without both of those.

That's one of the kind of things I'm talking about.

It's because of deliberate exploiters that we've lost access to maps/enemy groups. I had to scrap one of my missions because we lost maps that my arcs revolved around.

My mission didn't contain exploits, at least none I was aware of (and never heard otherwise). Was I ever in danger of reprisals? No. The maps/groups were pulled because of the actions of other people. I blame THOSE people, not the devs, for the loss of those things.

I am upset about the slippery slope of things being pulled from the MA because other kids can't play nice in the sandbox, but it's sadly the reality that all too often a few selfish jerks ruin the party for everyone else.

However, that doesn't mean you're in any sort of danger of being personally singled out if you do make an honest mistake.

Tell that to the people banned for using leveling pacts, because when the devs were doling out their punishments the game perceived them as gaining too many levels too quickly because they "gain" all their XP from the pact upon login.
