What would you say are the Phalanx's theme songs?
I think for all of them the Spongebob Squarepants theme is appropriate
For Sister Psyche:
Cat Power - Trouble Water It's a cover but a good one
Eels - Beautiful Freak
Hole - Credit in the Straight World
Sarah McLachlan - Full of Grace
It looks like I think Sister P is a little emo
For Posi:
Nena - 99 Luftballons I'm not really sure why
Arcade Fire - My body is a cage
Reverend Horton Heat - Bullet
Maybe I'm the emo one...
Even though you didn't ask; Manticore!
The Dollyrots - Because I'm Awesome
X - The Hungry Wolf
I've got several ideas for the villains...
Unless you hate these in which case never mind.
Statesman: Indestructable, by Rancid
BAB: Jack the Ripper by LL Cool J, I'm Bad also by LL, Aint No Love, by J-Z, the Message by Grandmaster Flash
Miss Liberty: American Girl by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Synapse: Speed of Sound by Coldplay, or Call me Lightning by the Who, or perhaps Mr. Speed by Kiss, Kickstand by Soundgarden. Rock is full of great speed songs.
Positron, TNT by AC/DC. Very indicative of what would happen should he step out of his suit.
Citadel, Motorbreath, by Metallica, Iron Man by Black Sabbath, 21st Century Digital Boy by Bad Religion
Inferno, Mother by Danzig, Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil
Manticore, 20th Century Boy by T. Rex, mainly for it's awesome riff, outlaw feel but also for the line, "Everybody says it's just like ROBIN HOOOOD!"
And the bad guys:
Lord Recluse: Boris the Spider by the Who, or One to Another by the Charlatans UK, which includes Tim Burgess screaming the very appropriate, "Be my spider woman, I'll be your spider man!" N.E.R.D. "lapdance" I know it's the Kingpin's song in Daredevil the Movie, but it's just a great villain song.
Black Scorpion: Electric Eye by Judas Priest. He's the spymaster right? I may be wrong on that, and it may be Ghost Widow. Either that or Bullet with Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumpkins
Scirrocco: Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. Lyrics match up pretty great. Another one would be "The Mystery of Chessboxing" by Wu Tang Clan. The sword sound effects and general bad mf tone works great.
Tyrant: I Want to Conquer the World by Bad Religion
Ghost Widow: Ghost by Neutral Milk Hotel, Witchy Woman by the Eagles, Sick of it All by the Distillers for a great violent woman justification song. Bad Reputation by Joan Jett
For Manticore, I was thinking along the lines of "Lawyers Guns and Money" by the late great Warren Zevon.
Although... for instrumentals... hrmmm...
21st Century Common Man by Tangerine Dream, perhaps?
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
I know it's a little too obvious of a nod, but "The Ballad of Barry Allen" by Jim's Big Ego seems like a pretty perfect fit for Synapse.
Also, Rancid's "Indestructible" works well for Statesman.
Maybe Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" for Silver Mantis?
Have you or someone you know been the victim of Nerd Rage?
Find answers, get help.
I like this one for Citadel.
For Positron- Classical Gas by Mason Williams. It starts off slow, then builds to a higher tempo that would be well suited for an action montage, then it just fades out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mguzKze1sYo
Another for Posi, but more of a joke type reference would be Can't Get Next to You, by the Temptations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Be4x2xdZ6fo
BaB I see as more of a Pulp style hero. Like modern version of Philip Marlow. To that end, I'd like to suggest the Theme to Peter Gunn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcflC...eature=related
Another option might be The Contender by Royal Crown Review. It's a swing song about an over the hill prize fighter refusing to give in. http://www.rcr.com/albums/contnder/lyrics.html That has a a link Real Audio clip. I couldn't find an online version of it.
Yet another could be Rumble in Brighton. There are a few different versions of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rcu5arCKwNk
My first short story (detective fiction) came out in Jan-2012. Other stories and books to follow, I hope. Because of "real writing". COH was a big part of that happening.
This is what came to mind for Back Alley Brawler, as it is retro and has a good rhythm for punching. Maybe it's something he'd play on his iPod while out on patrol on a day when busting drug pushers is getting old.
Fly Away
I wanna see these damn videos already.
i will have to come back when i have speakers a lot of these look pretty good.
Roxy On DA...Finally!
Brawler's been around a while. Now, the obvious choice is "Give Up The Funk/Tear The Roof Off The Sucker" by Parliament. But... I think, personally, he's more a Stevie Wonder kind of guy.

[ QUOTE ]
I hope you hear inside my voice of sorrow
And that it motivates you to make a better tomorrow
This place is cruel no where could be much colder
If we dont change the world will soon be over
Living just enough, stop giving just enough for the city!!!!

Manticore... I'm going to confess. I'm going to go for a band because of a synergy effect.
http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/seether/remedy.html
Seether's Remedy is a bit driven, and it fits... and that makes Manticore + Sister Psyche
http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/seether/broken.html
Broken.
Numina. Besides the Numa Numa song... oh, come on, you were all thinking it... I dunno. She says Beatles to me, somehow. Something sad, but uptempo.
PERC Supporter
La Pucelle (BS/SR)
Miseria Bella (Sonic/Dark)
Wrangler Annie (SS/Elec)
Coldsmoke (Ice/Dark)
Saber Maid (BS/Regen)
and others...
Time for me to show my age.
BAB- 80's skullbusting?
Who do you love?
For Sister Psyche, I think it's gotta be something with more of a retro sound. She was born in 1930 or something...
Faded Flowers.
Something I'm just throwing out there because SOMEONE should have it for theme music... Tsunami Bomb, "The Enemy Within."
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
Yeah my thoughts are flowing...
I'll make a full set lol
Alright it may be too long but for Sister Psyche
Dream Theater - The Glass Prison
The lyrics are all about being trapped in your own mind.
BAB... I can't help it...
The Devil Wears Prada - Still Fly (cover)
Lol, metal brought the violent tone out, and its Still Fly by Big Tymers... Why more explaining do I need
Positron... Hard one
System of a Down - Toxicity
I really can't explain this one it just fit for me...
Statesman
Disturbed - Indestructible
Fairly self explanatory, hes invul lol.
Citadel... I can't resist
Styx - Mr. Roboto
Self explanatory...
Numi
Paramore - Emergency
The whole first verse is perfect, talks about someone just watching and never stop holding on. And the chorus talks about seeing bad things happen too much.
Just seems like Numi to me.
EDITED: I accidentally used html links instead of UBB code so they didnt show up

If you haven't already made your choice for Sister Psyche,
I've come across a possibility.
Boy Sets Fire - Across Five Years
Lyrics:
I said I'm crazy one more time
picked up the phone and wondered why
so many years of hidden dreams pushed down too far to ever win
locked doors
and hidden ghosts denied by myself with every joke
this was not
this could never be me
remembering so many times so many lies
so many lies
ran so fast the years passed blind
so much time lost killing five
whatever poison you may drink another list of no's persist
antique and out of reach
I lost my life and take it back
crashed this side of happiness
hit the floor or hit and miss
without the strength to follow through
walked right past this life in you
just one more kiss just one more chance
one more life or circumstance
one more call taking a chance on circumstance
Deals with thining yourself crazy, dieing and being reborn, feeling hopeless and finding "one more chance" which could easily be paired up with a recent marriage to Manticore.
(And a nice bonus point with the five year anniversary. . .)
Just my two cents.

Nope, not yet made choices for Psyche, BAB, Numina, Citadel, and Positron. I got a lot of really good suggestions so I'm looking at lyrics, listening to the songs, and seeing what sparks inspiration.
Not sure if I'll do vids for all the Phalanx first, then the Villains, or alternate.

hmmm question
are you going to post your song selections
or just wait till you release the videos
Point of order - BaB is one of the "Surviving Eight" (a bit of a misnomer considering that Ms. Liberty and several other heroes also survived the War) but is he really a card carrying member of the Phalanx? I've always assumed he was an independent since the Regulators more or less dissolved and he retired.
Positron - _She Blinded Me With Science!_, Thomas Dolby
Justin Sinclair - _South City Midnight Lady_, The Doobie Brothers

He does currently work with the Phalanx.
The thing about the Surviving Eight I've always found funny is that there are in fact, at least 9. Vanessa DeVore was a member of Alpha Team, and did survive the assault.
She gets glossed over though, cause she's a villain.

I think I'm a bit outclassed when it comes to musical taste here, but I think Light, by the Benassi Bros would make an interesting theme song for Luminary.
Name's are similair, the lyrics are bright, the Major is kind of like Luminary. A good fit, I think.
EDIT: And heh, Recluse should get "O Fortuna." Fits his BBEG station well.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
