I did. I know it's just my opinion. I'm sure tons of people would love a set full of "magic" bullets with special affects and damage. I would just prefer a set that focuses on fast cast times and lethal damage with defense debuffs and resitsance debuffs. Lethal is a highly resisted type of damage, but if every attack did -def or -res, it would do just fine.

Anything else could be added thru combos rather than "magic" ammo. Again, just my opinion.

That reminds me; it's time to return to my Pulse Rifle/Poison petless Mastermind.

(Though so far /Poison seems too much like /Trick Arrow without the sticks. And my goodness do I dislike /Trick Arrow. Maybe I'll try /Traps instead. Or do one of each; why not?)

I always wanted to make a traps , but all my characters are based on some kind of concept and I didnt see anything that connects well with traps until now.

i ike the combo concept for dual pistols but i like the gunslinger's ammunition better.

why not have toggle effects for pistols. like toggle "incindiary rounds" for +fire damage or "Liquid Nitro gen Rounds" for "cold damage and chance to hold? that why we arent getting ranged dual blades and not another "lethal damage" set?

Hmmm....not a bad idea. Even though I'm not a fan of the magic bullet thing. If it was going to be done, having a toggle for each type of round would be a very unique and fun idea.

That probably one of the coolest ideas ive heard in a long time. Id eat that up.

I wouldnt go overboard on them though. Id say Fire,Ice, Poison would be the best easiest ones to do.


Incindiary rounds - Splits your damage into Lethal/Fire and adds 10% damage and some DOT.

Liquid Nitro Rounds- Splits your damage into Lethal/Ice, slow movement speed and recharge, and has a 10% to apply a mag 2 hold.

Poison Rounds- Splits your damage into 75% Lethal/ 25% toxic, does some -regen, and has like a 25% chance for -res.


I would freaking love this. Sombody draw up a good powerlist and dump this in the suggestion channel.

I think the best way to make it work would be to have one power called Ammo Diversification. This one power would give you the three toggles, but only one would run at a time. Toggling another one would automaticly shut the other off. Kinda how Combat Jumping turns off automaticly when you turn on Leaping and vice versa.

Again, I don't even want "magic" bullets....but this is a really cool idea.

Ya know, I hear alot of people saying Dual Pistols will be for Blasters and Corruptors. What about Defenders and Dominators? Am I missing something obvious that would take these ATs out of the running for Dual Pistols?

Defenders will almost definitely be getting Dual Pistols.* Dominators, however, would require reworking the set, since Assault sets are typically an (almost) even mixture of melee and range, whereas Dual Pistols will (probably) be (almost) exclusively ranged.

*This assumption is based on the Devs expressing the desire to give access to all appropriate powersets for all archetypes (i.e. Power Proliferation).

They just need to mix dual pistols with martial arts. Then watch as the dom population swells and becomes the new FOTM.

Oh, yeah! I would play that in a heartbeat. Matter of fact, if they proliferated illusion to doms at the same time, I have a feeling you wouldn't be seeing me on any other character for a *long* time. And that's a heck of a statement for me! <points at sig>

Man, I've been putting off making a corruptor ever since I started playing just because I was half-expecting pistols to come out. And, finally, here we go.

Got the concept, saved the costume ever since we had that option, name placeholdered. Just been waiting.

And now I will make one.

It will be pistols/dark.

There will be hundreds of them.

And I don't care.

They could do it without redraw from the secondary. Might require some animation work, but thematically it works since they would be from the same set. It is also not that I would expect them to do this, but it is the right choice for dom's to have a pistol assault set.

I think a combo sysytem for Dual Pistols should only have two attacks per combo. This would accomplish many things. For one, it would make it very easy to give the set at least 8 different combos. With eight combos and eight different effects, you could really customize your playstyle just by controlling the order of your attack chain. At the same time, players who don't want to be bothered by a combo system could just fire away randomly and still get plenty of combo effects.

I'd say make a combo for fire damage, toxic damage, chance for double lethal damage, -def, slow, stun, KB, and build up. With all these options you could really do whatever you want. Consentrate on control, or max damage, or a mix of both.

I listed eight effects because I think the best wat to do this would be to have eight attacks, each one equals an effect, no matter what the following attack is. For example...


Attacks A = KB
Attack B = Slow effect
Attack C = Toxic DoT
Attack D = Build Up
Attack E = Defense Debuff
Attack F = Fire DoT
Attack G = Stun
Attack H = Chance for Critical Hit

This way, you can always lead with the attacks that have the combo effects you want while using the attacks with unwanted effects as your second filler attack. Your attack chain doesn't have to be the same cookie cutter chain everytime to get the effects you want. You would also be able to choose a second attack based on what you want to do. If you want to slow an entire mob you'd lead with Attack B followed by whatever attack is a cone or AOE. If your fighting a boss you might lead with attack D or G followed by a quick animating single target attack.

I have a character who has been inactive for nearly a year now. Level 1, never been played, I made him just to hold the name on my server for the character I will one day make as a Dual pistols\psy blaster.

No Duel Pistol for blaster just for redside
