Please allow Wings!?
The valkyie wings clip with legs, already. I agree, though, wings and some kind of buttcape-area cape would be fine with me.

I just want valk gloves to not clip with every shield but the targe.

While I realize there was a bug with the Back Details availability while wearing a Magic Bolero and that the Capes should be disallowed to avoid load spikes and massive clipping issues. I would like to humbly request that Wings (which have no such clipping issues) remain available. I've made two costume with these that came out really awesome and I'd hate to have to refrain from using the Tailor with them for the rest of their careers.

I also had ideas for an angelic character which I may never be able to fully explore.
Since this costume part is very similar to Trench Coats, I would also like to request that Wing availability be allowed for them as well.

Agree 100%!
Could they disable capes without disabling wings, though?
Sure they could. There are already costume pieces you can't select if you choose certain costume pieces.
Look at Trench Coats and Jackets. If you use them you can't choose certain chest details.
So they could easily allow Wings with Bolero.
I'm with Blackavaar, I'm very disappointed at this development. I too had plans to use Wings with Bolero. They looked awesome together.
The problem is consistency.
Already, there's the Bridal Veil exception - I don't really think that there needs to be more exceptions to the "Only One Animated Piece" rule. (I don't think the veil should be an exception at all, actually, and think it should block capes like anything else.)
If they're going to have a hard limit on how many animated costume pieces we can have, they need to stick to it.
(Frankly, if they implement this, I want my Crab's trenchcoat back before anyone gets their wings.)

I've never heard of an Only One Animated Piece rule. Would it be possible to get a link to it?
While Capes do interfere with the Bolero, Wings aren't capes, and their movement is up and away from where the Bolero hangs.
Also by simply cutting off the Cape part, the Top of the Bolero would make a spiffy Jacket option, and the High Collar would go nicely as an addition to the chest options.
Wow, didn't even know about this and have atleast 2-5 outfits that use
the bolero and wings combo (the mini wings work AWESOME)
Please add wings back with the bolero.

Agreed.
love the off-the-shoulder neckline of the bolero and I really like the way it frames some of the Tops with Skin. The lacy bridal pack pieces look especially cool. I would love to see a short version of it.
And definitely /signed to the original suggestion as well.

That's a fair request. However, I recall it being from around the time Trenchcoats and wings were introduced, which means that it could very easily have been purged by now. I will look for it (later, not right now - I want to play, damnit, not forum delve ), but I cannot make promises on finding it.
I recall that the core of it was, however, that they didn't want one character taking up too much processing power to animate, and restricting characters to only one of "Cape, wings, or trenchcoat" was a way to do that.
However, the thrust remains the same. If we're making an exception for the Bolero, then frankly, they need to make an exception for Crab backpacks, trenchcoats, wedding tuxes, et cetera. Otherwise...

If it's that old don't bother. I was hoping it was a more recent post I had missed. I don't want take you away from your game time.
Also the core you mentioned does make sense, but if you don't mind I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll change their minds on this.
Tho on a side note I think that Wings would interfere with the Crab Backpack.
Of course you might be saying allow the backpack with other coat type items. Stupid me for not thinking of that first.
*is actually looking around for it right now, because his partner is slooooow* >_>
I was, actually, referring to coat items. My Crab's trenchcoat got cut off at the waist when I got the crab backpack, and I don't seem to be able to have any other animated pieces like it with that character. It would remain to be seen if a girlcrab could have an exception, but I am unsure.

The Boleros are animated? (I haven't played with the Magic Pack Costume items yet.)

Would this work? Ex Libris says that the animation department set that rule up. Something about performance.

Thanks Abrahms. I guess I'm stuck with never changing the costumes on the characters I've already created that have both cape and bolero.
I just wish I hadn't decided to wait till a couple reached level 14 to get the wings.
*Sigh*
Hmmph. Now I understand. I was confused because I always thought a Bolero was a SHORT jacket, shorter than waist length, and didn't realize you all were referring to the long coat that was part of the pack.
Happy Birthday, Tripp!

I would like it back as well. It looked good, I made several costume with it; but now I am forced to keep those costumes as they are _forever_ or else my winged characters lose their wings.
Put it back the way it was, please.
