PvP Recipes
After about 100 kills i got 1 recipe.....
after alot of time in rv last night (which was the most fun ive had in a while) i didnt get squat.
Same here, tons of fun but no recipe drops
I made a post asking if we could trade bounty for the pvp IO's but somebody then responded by telling me a pvp IO is about as likely as finding a purple...I gave up on trying to get them and went on to working the MA.

idk bout that cause i had a friend that got one right off the bat (the first arena match between us). But i do know they are rare.
Just talked to a friend that got 2 so far out of around 50 kills. Going to give it another shot tonight and see what I come up with.
*crosses fingers*
Yes, these are really rare, but from what I've been reading, they are dropping. You'd think they'd be a little less rare if they are supposed to be an incentive to get people into PvP.
Arc 185502: Who Killed Snow Globe? a mini mystery Put together the clues to solve the case!
Arc 22832: And Hell Hath No Fury (extreme)
Will you be the key to the Knives of Artemis' survival? or the instrument of their destruction?

From the people that brought you the requirement to damage farm for multiple nights just to earn an accolade....
IMO 1 drop for every 10-15 kills would seem like a good ratio with a 10 min cool down. Not falling from the sky but not like the pvp equivalent of purples. Then anyone that jumps into the fray for a half hour or so will likely get a drop and they will be so happy
10-15 kills would make it a little too easy to farm by an organized team in the arena, and it might even be profitable. The last thing we need is people seeing that it's easier to just farm the drops than to actually PvP. Make it 1 every 50 kills or so and we have a winner. Since i14 went live I've spent all my time in CoX PvPing (probably amounting to over 300 kills) and I've only gotten one drop. Personally I don't mind, because I spent most of my in-game time PvPing before i14 anyway. However, if the devs wanna use PvP drops as an incentive to draw a couple more people into PvPing then they might want to increase the drop rate to approximately 1 every 50 kills.
1 in 50 still probably wouldn't work. It would just take far too much time for a new pvp-er or someone on a less than top flight build to rack up that many kills. I'm a moderately bad pvp-er on a decently IO'ed and accolade build and have racked up about 30 kills over several nights pvping at least a couple hours a night. No drops.
I know they're concerned about pvp farming (though they apparently actively encourage pve farming) but unless you're pretty darned good at pvp to begin with, it is by far more time efficient (not to mention influence/infamy/other drops profitable) to farm Romans at the Wall, or run lvl 50 missions (particularly if you're one of those ebil fire/psi doms or fire/kin 'troller farmers)
If you really want to use recipes to encourage PvP you'd have to make the payoff matrix better than PvE, which would probably require a drop ratio of 6-10% per pvp kill.
And dont forget about how small the current pvp population is. We have to supply the market with these new IO's. To make them extremely rare will ensure the prices for them will be through the roof.
So far not 1 recipe and my kill count is well over 100.
I have about 18 so far, they do take a long time to get though, quite a few kills. Javelins Volley drops way too much as well.
yes I got a few this weekend too - I think the pvpers see them drop regularly and the casual and non pvpers are like "ugh how much longer................"
Probably around 50 kills in RV on Justice and about 10 today in Siren's on Freedom and I've had one recipe.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
ive been farmin myself for 3 hrs and havent had 1 drop. is there some kind of stipulation to getting them to drop?
I finally got one last night. I am guestimating about 300 kills which is about what I was expecting.
1 in say 250->300 kills requires about the same time investment as 1 purple drop from my experience, which seems about spot on.
not true. i have had a purple drop from the first thing i killed after logging in. and some people have had the PvP recipes drop from the first couple kills. in fact i dropped one 5 mins after i posted my question. i also had another drop on another of my toons yesterday after about 20 kills. i think i was refering to if rep had anything to do with it(like being 1.0 rep or higher). i think after only a few days it will be hard to tell until someone sits down for a while and starts from scratch with 0 rep and figures this out.
One can certainly say you are lucky, but your experience is not the norm. I mean if it was the norm that would be happening to you all the time wouldn't it? If that happned to everyone then we would have no problem outfitting every character on all the servers with purples.
I seem to remember a post somewhere in the forums (probably the Market forum) tracking purple drops and the average number of defeated enemies per purple worked out to something like 1 in 2700. Which seems about right considering the amount of farming I have done on my fire/kin. That works out to about 3 hours farming if I did my math right.
Oddly enough, it took me just over 3 hours to get in the 300'ish kills in PVP before I got my first PVP recipe.
Hence my conclusion that they have this worked out to a similar average time investment as purple drops.
That's just my opinion but it is based on my experience combined with research others have done on purple drop rate. I am just making the comparision between PVP recipes and purples because of the desirability of both type of recipe.
Got my first drop today, then a second and then a third:
Gladiator's Armor: Resistance
Gladiator's Net: Endurance Reduction/Recharge/Hold
Gladiator's Javelin: Damage/Recharge
Guess my bad luck finally ran out. Worth around 20-30 mil each.
One question, do the PvP IO's exemplar like purps? I think I remember reading that somewhere but Im not sure.
I'm wondering if the shield wall unique is even possible to get. None have hit either market yet.

Is that the +3% def one? If so I know at least one person who's got it.

No it's the +3% resistance one. I did manage to get the defense one for a huge price lol.
This weekend after 36th and 67th PvP kill I received Pancea: Heal/Rech and Pancea: +Hit Points/+Recovery respectively.
All in all during a 4 hour session of PvP we saw approximately 10 confirmed (linked in bcast) recipe drops.

I give up on it, Its been 4 days now trying lastnight i had a bounty of 54,333 collected and not one drop, I got kill'd a few time and the ones that kill me G***B**T and M**T "willnt put names in" all got drops off me, I work my butt off lastnight
And a Gm was in the zone to tell the truth i think the drop rate is a lil to low why even have a 10 min timer on drops if your not getting any.
I PvP'd for a couple hours last night and racked up quite a few kills but so far no PvP recipes. Anyone have better luck then me?
