Dagnabbit. If I knew this, I would have changed my global handle last night.

Why? Well, I didn't know that I would be stuck with my initial character as a chat handle, and it's not something I want as my chat handle. The only reason I didn't change it that I was worried I might come up with something better or otherwise screw up my choice. Since it was made very clear that you could never change your name again, I didn't want to screw that up.

...and now I'm back in that boat. Though I might end up using the rename anyway for my mission architect usage, and regret it later.

*sigh*

How come there's no mention of the SG base portal in Talos getting moved?

OK, couple quick questions and comments:

[ QUOTE ]
Parodies and derivative works are not allowed.

[/ QUOTE ]
This concerns me quite a bit. I have one arc in the works inspired by an old TV show. And (at least) one of my friends has an arc in the works inspired by a movie. If these are "not allowed" I will be a very sad panda indeed.

How not allowed is "not allowed" anyway. If I were to publish an arc with some not-too-obscure references to a 1960's sitcom, will Niviene send me a polite e-mail asking me to take it down? Will Ex Libris delete all of my created missions and tell me never to be seen singing show-tunes in public again? Will Castle break my character's legs and tie me to the Portal Corp sign to be a victim of public scorn and a warning to others? Or will Positron ban my account and send a gang of hoodlums to my house to break my legs and string me up for public scorn as a warning to others? Or worse yet, will lawyers be involved (isn't parody protected from copyright)?

[ QUOTE ]
Bronze Reward Roll: This random reward will award both uncommon and rare recipes that are normally dropped from defeating enemies. The likelihood of receiving an uncommon recipe is 8 times greater than that of a rare recipe. This is consistent with rewards granted from defeating enemies. This reward table does not include purple reward drops, nor does it include temporary powers or respec recipes. The Bronze Reward Roll is the least expensive of the three random reward categories.

Silver Reward Roll: This random reward will award both rare recipes that are normally dropped from defeating enemies and recipes earned upon completing missions. The likelihood of receiving a rare recipe is 50% greater than that of a mission complete recipe. This reward table does not include temporary powers or respec recipes. The Silver Reward Roll is the second most expensive of the three random reward categories.

Gold Reward Roll: This random reward will award recipes that were previously dropped by completing taskforces/trials, very rare boss drops, and recipes that are purchasable with merits. The Gold Reward Roll is the most expensive of the random reward categories as the rewards granted are very powerful.

[/ QUOTE ]

This specifically states that purple recipes are excluded from bronze rolls. Are they possible in the silver or gold or will I still have to resort to "official" content for a chance at these. I don't play my 50's as much as some people but i do still take them out on occasion. While I have teamed with people who have gotten a purple recipe (and once with someone who got two in a single ITF run), I have yet to have a purple drop on me. I anticipate creating a few arcs and spending a significant amount of time running other player created content and it would be upsetting to find that I cannot have even a small chance at a purple drop in this now bottomless well of new content.

[ QUOTE ]
Characters (on active accounts) who have inventories, bids or items for sale in the Black Market or in Wentworth's Consignment House will no longer have to log into the game within 60 days to avoid item or influence/infamy expiration.
In-game Black Market and Wentworth employees will still give their friendly reminder, however if your account is "active", they won't take your "stuff".

People were using it for double Day Job earnings, which is an exploit (albeit minor one). Exploits don't get advertised immediately in case there needs to be a roll back and then you have everyone knowing about the exploit. So, exploit fixes get delayed announcement... if they remember to announce. It sometimes slips through the cracks.

So, not being in the original notes: on purpose.

Not getting around to announcing it: a mistake.

Purples don't drop in MA missions that give Tickets since all drops are replaced by tickets. Purples can't be bought at the Ticket Vendor since they don't want people buying Purples (at this time). I suggested in Beta that Purples have a very rare chance to drop when buying a Gold Roll, but, that didn't come about.

However, when an MA arc becomes Dev's Choice, it stops dropping Tickets and goes back to regular drops, which includes Purples. So, if you want the chance for Purple drops in the MA, play level 47+ Dev's Choice arcs.

The last several times I was on test, I noticed that the story arc icon had changed and been replaced by a green book. Am I crazy? What does the green book mean?

[/ QUOTE ]

According to a friend, it's a new icon to denote a zone arc, seemingly.

[/ QUOTE ]

Specifically, I noticed that I only had it on Sister Arlia, the Pilgrim, and Senator Decimus Aquila. I assume that the only thing in common between them is being a zone-arc contact.

We'll always have Paragon.

Basically, yes, but that's not relevant. This game (and forums) is a PRIVATE venue. The management can make any additional rules however restrictive they want. They can't choose to ignore copyright and trademark, but they CAN choose to have far stricter rules than copyright and trademark laws require.

I can't believe this Patch Note went in unchanged.

You might want to find Castle's two follow up posts regarding Recharge Intensive Pet sets and the desire to prevent Recharge buffs from being inherited.

At the very least you should clarify that it prevents pet and pseudo-pet powers from being affecting by any source of plus or minus Recharge, including Enhancements.

Personally, I'd also soften the claim that pets will no longer get stuck cycling a small subset of their attacks, as many of them still do.

What is the rule for *inactive* accounts?

I ask because not too long ago I had my account go inactive for a few days because of a credit card issue.
Would I have immediately lost all my stuff if the character was longer than 60 days away? or is the rule 60 days of account inactivity now?

I noticed immediately that the mission nav bar has been changed. Also, the wording/explanation of your difficulty level in it has changed as well. It would be nice to see some documentation about this, even if it was just aesthetics.

Also, it seems (so far) that the Blackwand isn't null rooting anymore. Which is nice, as that killed me many times.

This icon has changed, the icon for Absolute Amazement IO sets has changed, and the Talos SG portal has been moved slightly. None of these are in the patch notes.

I've already reported during beta that this did not change the way zombies and grave knights cycle their attacks, especially grave knights. They still stay back and use ranged attacks unless a mob comes in melee or they are forced into melee range. They pull their swords and use ranged attacks. Zombies will start using ranged only if during a fight the mob moves out of melee range. They'll just stand there and use their ranged attack until the mob moves back into melee range.

So either this needs to be reviewed or the statement needs to be altered since the recharge 'bug' doesn't affect all pets.

In the absence of a definite redname statement, assume the worst. Because, unless someone thought of this and coded for it, I think the path of least resistance in the code would work as follows:
Toon A has not logged in for 70 days.
Account goes inactive.
Next maintenance, since the account is inactive, the 'clean out CH' subroutine runs and deletes anything over 60 days.

Also, as we have seen with taunt, they don't always know how everything actually works. So, even if we get a statement otherwise, I would still assume it works as I described - just to be safe.

How about a comment on the Mission Transporter power Icon changing to a gray button with a red X to stop confusion with the temp fly powers.

And by the way could you find an Icon that looks more .... teleporty?

I was under the impression that Bosses and EB's would now be dropping the recipes formerly included in the old pools C and D. Was this change not implemented, or was it in the patch and not the notes?

Additionally, I was wondering if the Basilisk's Gaze and other recipes that were not properly dropping now were.

Hi there,

Just wondering about the TF/SF/Trial timers, didn't see anything on the release notes on it being reduced to 18 from 24? Can someone confirm it's now 18 or is it still 24?

Thanks!

which brings up the question of why they wouldn't simply remove the cleanup routine. Why add an "if active" in there?

I've PM'd Niv about this already. It's very strange to get a patch note explaining for one type (in this case active accounts) without clear info on the compliment type.

The real problem is that in the scenario you describe any "hiccup" in billing can trigger the delete of certain items if they were on a character with some time since last market check-in. The way you have to cancel billing and resubscribe to change certain settings could end up tripping that, too.

Add me to the list of people who give you a Hearty Thanks for this. It was quite a chore logging into every character and then running over to WW/BM to monitor things. I have enough alts so that if even if I could log into 1-2 characters a day for 60 days, I might still miss one.

I know I've lost millions upon millions in sales and winning bids, so thankfully it's 'fixed' now.
