[/ QUOTE ]Was that changed to what you say in your post, because I clearly remember getting a Winter Lord from a present while solo. Dont recall if it was last year or, before(on trial), but I definitely wasnt in a team, and(lol) it was definitely Winter Lord.

got a question... if the new universal travel power recipes arent available until the winter event starts, then how is it that there have already been several sold on the markets?

Could be that the European servers have started the Winter Event over there. Since the market servers are linked between the US and EU game servers, we could be seeing some that EU players are selling. The only sales shown on any of the Winter's Gift pieces are from today (12/15).

Repeat Offenders
Only disappointment will be mostly to the female toons. They still have not implemented hats with hair or any headgear for that matter with hair.
I can't even use the special helmet of the Arachnos helms I received for 51m. for any female toon.
Looking bald is just not normal for female toons.
Needs to be reconstructed similar to masks with hair.
Wish the devs would really look at this problem. It always gets ignored

Huh, you mean it's like all other events (except for this year's Halloween Event, which got an early start), in that it won't start until after scheduled maintenance for that day? Not a big surprise, for anyone who's been around for awhile.
Note that the Event might not be running when the servers come back up, though. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for them to flip the "event switch."

I thought the maintenance window was earlier this morning. For whatever reason, I couldn't connect during most of the 8 o'clock hour (east coast), but when I did connect just before 9 o'clock there was no Santa.

I logged in when the servers came back up, and no event. Did a mission, and just now exited... got the Frostbitten badge and the other log-in goodies, as well as a message that Father Time needs my help!
Event is on now.
EDIT: And a Build Snowbeast & a Candy Cane for my first opened present! 
Here's a quick question: when trying to get the Toy Collector badge (by opening 200 presents), must one open all 200 personally or do any presents opened by any member of a team count for all members of that team?

Get 40 candy canes, and talk to the elf in the Pocket D Ski Chalet. BAM!
Edit: also you need to be lvl 30 apparently. You can still buy the halo if you're not, but won't be able to add it through the tailor until you run your aura mission at lvl 30+.
watch out cause whats happening with the missing experience is starting to happen with the candy canes.
Same mission yet another year, is it City of heroes or city of baby sitters for Baby new Year?
This was old and lame last year, its just a joke now. Same with Valentines day. Can't think up something new for a holiday mission? throw in snaptooth.

Saved Baby New Year. Picked the Golden Rings temp power. Didn't get. Got nothing at all, and no notification as to why.
Ran the mission a second time. Same thing. I get offered the reward but then I don't get it.
Likewise... ran the BNY mish twice, selected Candy Canes as reward... got the salvage found message on both... got the "5 units of Candy Cane" chat messages... yet... there's not 10 unit in my inventory, there's only 5.

Anyone have any tips for skiing? I tried and tried last year and couldn't even get a bronze medal. I get dizzy just thinking about it:-)

Kinetics buffs can help, but things like Sprint, Super Speed, Super Jump, GvE Jump Pack, Mayhem/ Safeguard Jump Pack, any +Speed or +Jump buff (like from Empowerment stations or IO sets), etc. can help you stick those landings and make record time.
