Discussion: IGN.com Talks with Positron
I enjoyed the WoW advertisement that was promentent on the page Coulda bought that space, huh fellas?
Oh and don't forget that PSW is overpowered!!! Neeeeerf it! (scratches belly and giggles)
I believe Barabeast that the reason ppl are getting upset is cause they enjoy this game and they want to be excited about the new issue. Of course how can ppl be excited about the new issue if the devs wont even tell us anything .
P.S i personally dont like there marketing department at all .

As long as "Fixing" PvP does not involve wholesale NERFAGE of PvE, as it has to date, I'm all for it.
Otherwise... the only "fix" to PvP I could support would be to break it out into a completely separate game.

Name 5 nerfs directly caused by pvp that had no pve reasons...
I seriously doubt you can, others couldn't in a thread about it earlier.
Actually don't here, this isn't the right thread, but start one somewhere it will be hilarious.
That's ok though we know pvp stole your baby and all that.
I agree the interview focused on the char creator too much
Nothing new except for the hint of changes to pvp that are coming. But he used the term 'new systems' and not power balances or changes or anything like that. Which makes me curious indeed.
bleh, there was no meat in that article only fluff.

[/ QUOTE ]QFT especially if it means all the pvp related nerfs can get overturned in pve.
Seriously though all these announcements you guys been doing are worthless. We havent heard one scrap of new issue 13 info. WE ARE GETTING VERY RESTLESS HERE!!!! If you are not going to post something new then just dont post those announcements at all since it just makes the whole thing worse for us. All I can say is the new marketing strategey of stringing us along like this sucks.

OMG WE'RE GETTING RESTLESS HERE! DEVS, Did you hear that? The small percentage of players that browse the forums are getting restless! Watch out! Or else!!!!
Seriously, if you're getting all antsy and posting replies like that, I think you're taking the lack of i13 news a little TOO seriously.
It'll be released when it's released. I doubt Positron or any other dev is gonna read EvilRyu's post and says "OMY HE'S SRS! We better get on this on the double otherwise we're gonna have an angry mob of people ON THE INTERNETS!!! AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT NOW CAN WE?"
Jeez, calm down when i13 comes out, all will be good, but for now I think we'll survive with what we've got currently. The game isn't going anywhere.
While it may not have contained any new info, at least CoV got an updated article on IGN's site and maybe we'll have some new people subscribing to the game. ANY form of advertisement for this game is a great thing seeing as how there's very little currently.

Please let selectable Arena maps be part of the PvP systems.

Yes and please for the love of god, add some sort of scoreboard or a personal Kill/Death Ratio.
Or BOTH

Anyone else think he talked a bit too much about the character creator? I think one thing that separates CoH from other MMO's is the sheer amount of different toons that you can make. Different AT's, different powersets for those, that all play in their own fasion. It gives great room for people to "find" the combination that clicks for them. (as well as stirring up that darn altitis!)
We've had the arena, pvp, cooperative zones, and cooperative missions for some time now. I wouldn't be surprised if the devs begin to address the idea of "pvp missions."
When we first got mayhems and safeguards, I imagined that pvp versions of them would not be far behind. In pvp play you could have the villains enter a section of a hero zone to complete their various objectives (rob bank, steal jewels, abduct hostage, bomb building, vandalize, resist arrest, etc.) and the heroes would be challenged to find the villains and stop them. Heroes could be rewarded for each villain they jail, and villains rewarded for each objective they complete. The mission could end when either a timer expires (say, 20 min) or the villains successfully get away after completing an objective.
This kind of play could be fun, but it would be a stretch to go with the classic pve reward system (xp, inf, inspirations, salvage, and recipes for defeats), so some new reward system would need to be created. Maybe the "merits" would fit into this. Designers must also take care to ensure that the scenarios can't easily be "gamed" by players ... say, where one side of the pvp contest simply yields to allow the other side to get all the prizes.
I don't mean to be ungrateful, but this:

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

Not that I don't LOVE the character creator....but is there a reason it was plugged practically every other sentence?

I've never been much or really even tried to pvp... from my understanding only the most "hardcore" players do. That being said I'm sure I'd be wiped across the floor as these folks are the ones who spend the high influ to get the best of the best of enhancements. Kind'a tells me it's a waste of my time to even try... Am I wrong?
If its broke, don't fix it... I like the chaos!

I'd actually consider PvP if we had something like this. Definately can't wait to try out DCUOs version of this.

Well, you have to do stuff that is fun and so on for you. When I try to get my sg involved in PvP, we head to an Arena and do some level 4 stuff, or make balanced teams and explain things to them.
There's nothing wrong with just getting together with a few friends and having a slugfest, not everyone can or wants to put in a bunch of hours per week of practice...
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!

I dont see how people get so confused about these articles. They are for gettin new players into CoX, thats about it. Its not about new info or exclusive i13 announcements.
