The Devs' paradigm has always been that Vet Powers would be "nice-to-haves" not "must haves".
So while 10 HP pets with minor buffs as the 48 month Vet Award are technically better than hologram, do-nothing pets as the 36 month Vet Award they are still within the realm of "non-significant" as they should be.

I was rersponding to all these people talking about banning them in PvP and how bada$$ they will be when stacked on a vet team. These things will be dead so fast they are virtually useless.

A team of eight with various team buffs, like:
Manuevers
Shadow Fall
Artic Fog
Sonic Dispersion
FFG
mixed with Aggro magnets like pets
and single target buffs...
PvE may have just been caked
(or 8 Storm/Dark Defs spamming Hurricanes in PvP)

Just a nitpick, why is the reward available tomorrow? Shouldn't the actual 48 month of the game be in April which is the 4th anniversary of the game?

Seriously though I hope ppl don't take the dev generated background story of the pets to seriously. A lot of ppl are saying "Dude my toon wouldnt have either a fairy or some kind of bot following him/her around" Personally if you look at Vis Viva for example (see link in sig) the "look" of the wisp works. The toon's story involves contact with a dimension which never "cooled" like ours. He is powered by that "Living Force" (hence the name Vis Viva). The "wisp" has the look and with +rec the properties of a "blip" of energy from that Universe. Heck blip is what he would probably name the thing. I suppose one persons Faerie who has come from the Lost Lands is another persons blip of living energy from an alternate dimension

Yup the 25th of April but some people will get them early due to a bug.
Alas I am not one of the fortunate.

A bug? Will this bug work for ALL day 1 vets on March 5th? If I don't get mine until April 25th (cuz the bug works for some and not others) It's gonna kind of bug me playing it between now and April 25th. I know it's shallow but darn it; it will still bug me.

Nope just happens to some people not all are launch Vets it is a long standing bug though.
In my case I got the 36 month one two weeks late and the 39 or 42 month one a week early can't remember any more.
The 45 month one was awarded correctly so there is some variation.
So I wish you luck.

Nah, once I get to 48 months - in about, um, two years ... heh - my fire/dev blaster can have TWO of the suckers orbiting him!

Why? Just throw a Fireball or an AoE and they're toast. They're fragile and how many 48 monthers are in the various pvp ladders or zones at any given time? Can't be more than a dozen or so.

Killing a player with one of these pets attached to them "should" be more of a reward then killing a player without. Make the rep be like 1.10 points or something then just the standard 1 point.
But, whatever- these are "okay", nice and all- hopefully they will actaully attach somehow to the player like targeting drone does and not be left in the dust like the 36 month rewards.

I won't get my 48 month vet reward for quite some time (22 months), but I just have to wonder if a /Devices can have both the Targeting Drone and Buff Drone going at the same time?
One is a summon, and the other is a toggle, but can they animate together? Will we see people with two Drones circling their noggin? That would be kinda neat.
In reference to getting the 48 month rewards in March instead of April, if I remember right, they count from when your account was created and how much time paid/played. There's still some playing who were in the CoH beta. Even just 1 month in beta would let them get the 48 this month instead of next assuming they kept thier account active this entire time.
To those getting the 48, lucky [Censored]. 
To those complaining about these in pvp, deal with it. 1.5% isn't gonna make a difference. If it's really THAT big a deal, do as someone above said, spit on it and watch it die.

Very nice reward, only have to wait 30 months to get it. Not even sure why I look at these vet rewards anymore, I already know I won't be here two and a half more years
Still a really good reward though. I love vet rewards don't get me wrong but sometimes I wonder if they encourage people to keep playing or if they just crush our fragile little hopes :P
either that or just keep their accounts active for long periods of time while they all go play something else...
damm why didn't i think of that earlier, i probably would have gotton the 30 month or something by now >.>
