Totally different take...

We've seen what has already been worked on...

Server transfers, character renames...

Could it be... maybe just maybe... that when everything old is new again, you get to the top then you go to the bottom of the slide and you can begin again... as the other side?

IE: The much-talked for ability to play CoV with your hero that was stuck on Hero because you started there, or vice versa?

[/ QUOTE ]

That would be really nice but I don't think they would go that far just yet as the storyline for good and bad is still going on.....though no one knows for sure except for the dev team LOL.

If it was like that and if they brought out Incarnates, you would still have to get a villain born character to 50 because a fallen hero doesn't fully count as a villain in this game universe.

For myself, I'm really not sure if its the 5th Collum but another new group.....though they can be rated as a new villain group since they've only been around once but for a short time.

I also think that i11 will go into beta after or near the end of the Halloween Event like how Issue 8 came out last year

....again, one never knows until they are brought out

Hey, how about the ability to re-choose your powersets on your character. Through something similar to the respec trial. Now that would be cool. That would be consistent with the new moniker in the wallpaper.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree with this, though I don't know if you mean just in your AT or what. I was thinking that you could have "infinite" choices of powers, such as switching your AT, seeing as the new power sets are coming. Maybe this could be incorperated with some sort of respec trial, as you said, or a TF which has most of what everyone thinks, flashbacks, and time travel. I would think that the TF would be the most logical idea connected to the "false in-game" Paragon Times articles. For the TF we might use the Portals at Portal Co. to travel to alternate realities of Paragon where Outbreak ran rampent, or some sort of villian is trying to disrupt the timeline in the "City of Heroes" Paragon, and make Outbreak spread through the world, so that heroes would be too weak to stop him in the future. Again, this is just a guess, but it feels the most logical idea connected with the Paragon Times articles.

If we got to switch our powers, my grav/rad would finally not be so useless (with old Hami gone, she's poopin' around pointlessly).

I could also switch from ice/nrg to fire/nrg on my blaster...

OHHHhhhh. The possibilities! They are endless! *cream*

Don't the 5th column have their own symbol? You know, the red and black one with the skull? I highly doubt that this is the herald of the return of the 5th, as they simply have used the old symbol for us old timers.

Snakes in a bra?

AND provide a nice defense to drunkards!

You mean against drunkards.

Unless you mean that a woman would put on her "Slither Bra" before going out on the town to get piss-drunk, safe and secure in the knowledge that nobody will try to molest her while she's passed out.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not exactly. Technically, the Reichsman is an alternate-timeline version of Statesman, and he was the leader of "Amerika Korps", which is what the 5th Column "could" have been if the Nazis succeeded in WWII. The Reichsman isn't dead; he's in "suspended animation" in the Freedom Phalanx's HQ after having come through PortalCorp and attempting to assert dominion over our reality.

More information can be found here:

http://www.cityofheroes.com/gameinfo...herworlds.html

So, to build on the Reichsman theory, it COULD (and this is hypothetical) represent a magickal aspect arising from the "Nazi America" timeline that is in alliance with, but not subject to, the 5th Column as it exists in "our" timeline, and may not have been encountered before.

Or, we're wrong, and it's just heralding a death to all contacts as the first step in shutting down our servers. Issue 12: MUO?? DOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!

I do think most of us are reading into this more than the issue designers, but it makes for great speculation nonetheless.

People, Aztecs are not, I repeat, not from South America. They are from Mexico, and Mexico is part of North America. Their captial city was located where Mexico City now stands.

Here is a pic of Aztec art:

Here's some movies of the making of a Viking special that was broadcast on NOVA in 2000 (note the ships in the Equipment movie, the dragon heads):

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/vikings...ge.html#thumb2

And here's a Wikipedia entry on Jormungandr, the World Serpent:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B6rmungandr

Specifically this paragraph:
[ QUOTE ]
According to the Prose Edda, Odin took Loki's three children, Fenrisúlfr, Hel and Jörmungandr. He tossed Jörmungandr into the great ocean that encircles Midgard. The serpent grew so big that he was able to surround the Earth and grasp his own tail, and as a result he earned the alternate name of the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. Jörmungandr's arch enemy is the god Thor.

[/ QUOTE ]

Here's a pic from Wikipedia of a lindorm (a Norse dragon with no legs or only two legs):

And here's the artical on Norse Mythology from Wikipedia. Please note the connection between Norse and Germanic:

And yes, dragons in Norse Mythology sometimes had ears. And woodcraft was a favourite form of art among them.

Ok, we now know the wallpaper refers to:
President G.T. Marchland, the immortal cybernetic leader of Grandville and his army.
Now to see what he does in i11

Looks like i11 may also involve adding a new island for the villains...

Not yelling at you, but story-line writers in general..

Enough of the damn alternate and parallel worlds, it's a cop out to a better storyline. It's used incase the viewers/readers/players don't like the new path, the director can simply say.. oh well it was just a dream, things will go back to normal next week.

Wikipedia article about Colombia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colombia

I agree with an earlier poster about the Nazis using South America as a haven after WWII (so much area to hide in, and with the isolation at the time it was the easiest way of doing it).

The Nazis sought to find legendary artifacts, in the hopes of claiming such things were created by the Ayrians (real name of real people, but used to create something new), who they claim were the direct decendants of the Atlanteans and the direct ancestors to the Germanic people.

In the movies and comic books, these items had powers (not that the Nazis ever really did get any authentic artifacts in the first place in real life). It could very well be that when the Nazis were loosing, they took some of these artifacts with them when they went into hiding.

Maybe it was one of these items that created the alternate reality. Maybe it's the only thing that can bring it back to normal, even if it wasn't the cause in the first place.

I think that maybe whoever changed reality may have done so with good intentions. Was it the right thing to do, though?
