Be safe and careful coming into to town guys! It's a football weekend and that means extra cops and extra traffic on the roads.

Okay, I'm leaving now to go to Dave & Busters, but I have two difficulties I'm gonna have to get through first.

1. Photo ID. I'm 18, but I don't have a driver's license or anything like that. I have a Student ID, but it's not laminated, so it'll look like I just made it or something and stuck a photo on.

2. I didn't register. I tried, believe me I tried... but it was always closed. Anyway, Ex said that if you come early you can get in. So I'm doing just that.

Wish me luck!

So here is an update!

For any of you that didn't get on the official registration there is an undisclosed number of open tickets. Please show up early, not too early mind you but early to get on the wait list and hopefully you will be one of the open slots let in at the opening.

Cuppa hooked me up with the info!

Sorry Ex you were told wrong, They just told us that we can't get in and best to just come back at 7:30 and try again

Had a good time.

Got some swag.

Represented Pinnacle by getting a large mug of Guinness while waitin in line to get in. Had two more while I was there.

Met Ex and several folks I'd never met before which was groovy.

All in all, a cool time. Can't wait to see the pics, Balorn.

Be well, people of CoH.

Woohoo. I got in, and it was a great time. I didn't know there would be a huge amount of free food and drinks... extra bonus!

It was great meeting all the staff at PlayNC, as well as some players. Including, of course, the Defuser.

It was fun. Lots of cool swag and got to see cuppa, ex, richard and some players downing drinks. Ex pwned them all!

'Twas a lot of fun. I got to talk to Balorn, Bill, and Rowr again, and meet Ex...nice lady! And the swag was really nice (love the cape). Lots of folks from Virtue and Justice in residence.

Oh, and if hadn't been discovered yet, I think Lord British gave away Cuppa's real first name.

Yay! Had fun!
Great meeting everyone and hope to see you all at the next one!

Well, my camera was acting funny, but here's what I got:

<ul type="square">[*]The crowd got big fast. [*]General British [*]...with The Defuser [*]...again [*]Ghost Widow [*]...and again [*]...versus The Defuser [*]The lines for autographs

There was a raffle where lots of cool stuff got given away, including[*]wireless mice and keyboards [*]iPod Nanos [*]bags full of Tabula Rasa stuff [*]They even had Auto Assault game time cards! [/list]I must have hit the mode dial or something, which is why some look so different than others. I may do some better correction later to make them look nicer.

I also got a video of the Q&amp;A with General British, and I'll be posting that up somewhere once I get the chance. I might have to do some trimming to fit it on YouTube, as it's just a smidge over their ten minute limit.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and hopefully there will be more of these. It was nice to be able to see and talk to everyone in person.

Wow.

Yes there was the minor snafu of the unregistered's being told to 'show up early' and then told 'come back at 7:30 once the line's thinned down.'

Which meant I got to throw more $$ at D&amp;B's games. Whoopee.

Did NOT know about the food and such, thought this was just gonna be a meet and greet, not, yanno, like an NCSoft mini-convention.

Got to meet Cuppa, Rowr, BllZBubba, I think Balorn, the Defuser, probably lots of other people whose names I either didn't get, or promptly spaced... (sorry! I'm Old!)

... and of course when my chance came to talk to Ghost Widow... I flashbacked to the last STF I was on, where she pwned all of us, and got cold feet. Sorry GW, you're just TOO imposing in that costume. Maybe if you wore the red one? I o no....

OH yes... swag! I actually decided against getting the full bag o' stuff, cos, yanno, I didn't have a minivan to put it in.

Or a backpack.

So instead the hat, beanie, and Guild Wars expansion set went into the tankbag on the bike.

And the next time we do one of these, I'm coming down a day early, and leaving a day late. Riding there and back within 14 hours has got every muscle in my hands, feet, and rear end SORE -- sportbikes are fun, but not on long freeway rides!! But I made it home, with no mishaps.

Hello, everyone!

If you're still in town, some of us are meeting for breakfast tomorrow. We'll be meeting at the Dave and Buster's parking lot at 11:00 am. Look for us near the entrance by a blue flagpole.

Here's my experience of the event:

In true Pinnaclian fashion, I enjoyed my beverage of choice, Guinness (three large mugs, two of which were on a mostly empty stomach). I got some cool swag, I met various persons, including: Ex Libris, Cuppa, Crickette (sp?), Soul_Train, several people from Virtue, at least one person from Liberty, and from Pinnacle I met Moonlight Rider, Black Cat Coffee, and I tried to disable or incapacitate BillZBubba by inadvertantly(?) tripping him (I tried to swipe his Guinness but my ploy failed).

I know that I met some other folks and that I've simply forgotten their names/handles. I'm getting old. =(

All in all, it was a lot of fun. I didn't like the drive back to San Antonio, as that took the better part of two hours -- an accident further down 35 (past downtown) slowed everything to a crawl -- many Austin drivers apparently suffer from the chronic rubberneck malady.

I wish I could have met more folks, but I didn't read about the other local stuff that was going on until after the fact.

I took a few pictures, but I mostly stood around drinking beer. Anyway, here are the ones I took:

Crickette and Cuppa raffling stuff off

Another of Crickette and Cuppa

Defuser regaling listeners with tales of his heroism

Ghost Widow -- great costume!

Ex Libris, Ghost Widow, and Defuser

The big projection screen

I hope to attend more events in the future. Thanks to NCSoft for putting it on and entertaining us!

Apologies to Crickette if I misspelled your name!

Awesome time.

I got out there at about 5 PM, expecting there to be a sign up sheet for the non-registered folks. Just before 6, Cricket said that it looked the unregistered would have to come back at 7:30 and see if we could get in. Luckily, it didn't come to that, but that did piss some people off who had driven in from far away. Turned out that once they got everyone who had registered checked in, that there was plenty of space for the few of us there that hadn't, so we didn't have to wait *that* long.

Once inside, there were 5 tables each with a pair of people signing stuff. For most of the signing, General British was the third person at the Tabula Rosa table. For CoH, we had Ex Libris and the Defuser. The other tables were folks from Guild Wars, Lineage, and Dungeon Runners. I'm kicking myself for not watching Who Wants to be a Superhero this season. Defuser was really nice, and really personable. Everything about this guy is pretty cool, and meeting him and learning about what he does and the charity work he does, he had to be a shoe in for the winner of the show. If anyone gets a chance to say hi to him, do it. Very cool dude. Meeting Ex Libris was also really neat. She's a totally cool chick, and completely destroyed the six other contestants in that Irish Car Bomb drinking race (including General British and CuppaJo).

Some of us grabbed some drinks afterward. I have a couple pictures, but I'm too damn tired to post them now, so I'll probably do that tomorrow.
