Consolidated list of TF/SF betterment suggestions
Would this be a good place to put my ideas for updating the Manti TF, based on the recent Posi updates? Or shall i start a new thread?
Allow SOME TF/SFs/Trials to be unlocked for soloing. Modified reards (maybe no merit/respec w/o teaming). Spawns at whatever the min amount of players is, but perhaps a very slight tweak (if necessary) tot he end boss for possible completion. Yellow or White/Red or Purple EB.
Still a dubious challenge, not feasible for farming since hte rewards are nerfed, and allows soloists and casual players to enjoy the content and get a badge that is required for a good accolade WITHOUT forced teaming.
Allow us to Solo TF/SF, Please pretty Please, . Maybe even update them to work like the Oro type TF were we can set difficulty, temp/no temp powers type thing.
This was actually inspired by something Bill Z Bubba said in another thread, so he deserves the credit (or the condemnation :-).
When a character reaches 50, she unlocks access to TFs/SFs and other team-exclusive missions through the Flashback system. However, the Flashback versions have no minimum team size requirements and the difficulty and reward levels are reduced to the level of story arcs.
The purpose of this is to allow players who simply prefer to solo or who for some reason can't schedule the time for the regular TFs and SFs to still play through the content and enjoy the storylines.
This seems like it would have little to no negative impact on the current TF/SF system. The actual TFs and SFs would remain exclusive, special content, with high-level rewards, both in loot and prestige, for those willing to dedicate the time and effort to them. The Flashback versions only provide easier access to the story content.
An added benefit is that this would also significantly expand end game content, at least for those players who didn't do the regular TFs (which I'm thinking is at least a large chunk of the player base, if not a majority). And best of all, it does so by using the wonderful powers of the Flashback system to recycle existing content :-)
I actualy had an Idea about using the prison in Bricks for a Trial or TF. We have a little used zone with a giant prison in it. Might as well use it. They fixed the Positron TF to use the Damn in Faultline. So I know this can be done.
As a villain, I'd love to assault the Terra Volta reactor and have waves of heroes trying to defend it.

I think its sad that this next moths weekly strike targets have the ice mistral tf on it twice.
To me this denotes the need to add a few more SF to red side as to make it more interesting. You have so many great charectors on redside that making a few decent beliveable ones that span a few level ranges seems like a semi simple thing to try.

I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but ever since the Fifth Column came back to Boomtown and started putting the smack down on the Council there, the "Defeat Council in Boomtown" mission in Numina's TF has been a lot harder to do; it's tricky to find enough Council before the Fifth Column mobs defeat them.
Solution: make it "Defeat Fifth Column or Council in Boomtown." (They're going to have to change the TF anyway to take out Galaxy...)
I'd love it if we had an option for more of an experience boost as a reward for doing TFs and trials. I know I probably wouldn't farm as much if regular content gave me an option (and yes, I know about WSTs) to help level my characters a bit faster.

I want to see some more high end task forces. At the moment, with all the iContent there should be a bit more high end stuff. In total, we have 4 TFs at max level on each side, but max level is the paragon level, where everyone aims for, so more content there would be nice.
How about a Nemesis one where we have various missions, and each time we do one we have an oh damnit moment, as we realise Nemesis has played us for a fool, until we have an eruka moment, do something that isn't a Nemesis plot and give him a suprise. It is, of course, a Nemesis clone, but make it feel like we might have a chance to pull one over on him.
We got into some really good discussions in the other thread, there were a lot of good ideas getting tossed out, so I thought I'd list them all. *note* some of these were thought up by people I have talked to in game.
1. An in depth description given before forming the TF that describes what enemies you will be facing, what levels you will be fighting, a recommendation for the team make up, and an approximate time range in which you can expect to finish it. 2. Make the TF mob levels spawn according to team average and reputation setting. 3. Make the TF work on the Rikti Invasion code. 4. Auto adjust the TF participants levels using PvP code. 5. Add temp powers to the TF's to help with resistance/defense or damage/accuracy depending on the TF. (ie temp powers that do large amount of damage to a certain mob type like the ones given in Croatoa) 6. Change TF's so they are harder due to challenges instead of just because you are fighting higher leveled mobs. 7. Change the minimum requirements. I think I got them all. If I missed someones suggestion/idea I'm sorry, please add it to the list. On that note, lets see what else we can come up with and lets discuss (*cough*not argue*cough*) them. Maybe we can come up with a cool idea for a new TF along the way |
As a vet, I find #1 to be a bit pointless -but, not everyone is a vet, so it's ok by me.
Number 2? What's wrong with going off the leaders difficulty? This way, only one player has to change it instead of the whole team.
Before I can endorse number 3, I'd really like to know what you're talking about! Why would they not spawn to be the same level as the characters that are in the tf? (unless they wanted it to be more challenging and had the leader set the difficulty accordingly.)
#4 - You want to take my ill/rad with perma pa and reduce my recharge with PvP code? For reals? What's the reason/logic behind that?
#5 - I don't understand - take the Katie Hannon TF - (only one that has Croatoa mobs) - you want a special temp that will do extra damage? There's no need for this. This is arguably one of the easiest, shortest tfs in the game. We only get 9 merits for it. I have no problem with making it even shorter, but I don't understand why you want a special temp.
#6 I think I can understand this one - instead of gigantic hitpoints on the baddies, you'd like something like blue or pink patches to drop from the sky and cause undefined damage type DoT while you fight the big bag of Hitpoints. I'm ok with this.
#7 Change the minimum requirements - you refer to team size to form up? You want to raise it for some? Lower it? if that's what you're talking about, please elaborate.
I realize that you just compiled the list - but I'm sure wherever the list came from, someone can elaborate.
Oh, and please understand, just because I don't like an idea, that doesn't mean anything. Just my two cents, that's all.

I just finished a UGT - and I had about 4 people get caught up in the Will of the Earth.
My suggestion would be for the player warning to be a little larger, and linger on the screen a little longer. For whatever reason, a lot of my teammates were having trouble seeing the whirling circle at their feet. I don't know if it's a graphic issue, but if it could show up in a dark red font about 3/4 inch tall, it might help.
I know I could just choose folks that are literate, but the smart folks really don't always tell the best jokes. :P

Eden Trial: Make the four rescued heroes be follow-pets, like the cops in Safeguard missions or the jailbroken villain in Mayhem missions. People could rescue the heroes first, then have the heroes help in clearing the room or fighting the Titan.
Eden trial - bump the level range. Make it 39-50, or 35-50. I absolutely -adore- the map in the Titan mission and it would be awesome to take a full team of incarnates down there and clearing the place. It'd be great for shard farming, at the least. Plus, 39 - 41 is such an odd and extremely narrow level range >>
Unlockable costume pieces for every tf ala katie hannon. Synapse's speed aura, moonfire's sash etc.

I just wish we could have the minimum required to start lowered to 2.
I enjoy duoing with my RL buddy and it's annoying to have to try and find 2 or more people willing to join and then log off...
I understand 100% why it's not soloable, being a task force and all implies more than one.
But we're Heroes, When Superman needs a little help he turns to Batman and the two of them can achieve amazing things. He doesn't say, Hang on Bats, lets stand around and see if we can find the Titans and maybe Flash before we tackle this threat.
Scenes like that are reserved for the really big threats, planetary invasions and the like.
Since they altered the difficulty settings maybe this is possible down the line.
