The busiest servers tend to be Freedom and Virtue. You don't see a lot of people outside nowadays due to it being mostly instanced content (along with the myriad amounts of teleportation tools making it seem like "no one's around"). It would be best to find your server(s) Global channel (look around or ask at the particular server's board) for better contact information for teaming, etc.

EDIT: If you're still around, anyway. I didn't notice the question was a month old.

Dec out.

Ahh, I'm new to this COH thing but I'd really like to know, is there gonna be like a combination pack where I can get COH/V and GR in one big purchase? Or am I better off just buying the COH/V arch ed and then GR?

All the editions kind of confuse me.

You're looking for City of Heroes: Going Rogue Complete. That version is released tomorrow.

Created a new toon in GR last night. I'm a 72 mo vet and none of my vet rewards are available to me. Is this a change or a bug?

ElectroBlaster, did you go into the Badges window and claim your Veteran rewards?

I made a Praetorian character last week, and as expected, I got over 25+ badges at the screen load, including Veteran badges. Of course, those don't do much until you go in the Badges tab and claim them for the temp powers, etc.

Since this is my first post for COH, I am obligates to say "thanks Devs for making a great game."

I was happy to recently find out about the new Incarnate alpha slot -- Yes, I realize that it has been out for a while but I missed it -- and, as my first character approaches 50, was glad to hear there was a provision for expanding characters abilities at the current max level.

So, I went nuts seaching forums for information related to "alpha slots" and "incarnate alpha" and so on. Finally, I found a link to the wiki site
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Alpha_Slot_Abilities which answered many of my questions regarding it.

This immediately raised additional questions regarding why it was set up the way it is. Can anyone point me to any discussions or announcements from devs explaining this? Since, I am not yet 50, I haven't run the game content so if it self-explanatory once you see it in action, I guess I will get it at that time. It just seems to be to be a bit complex and I am uncertain as to why the benefits in question were grouped together and am curious if any explanation was given.

My (naive) viewpoint is that it might have been simpler to allow character to construct something similar to enhancements and slot them into the character (instead of a power) and then allow you to select your own combination of effects. Of course, I understand that there may be some game balance reasons for excluding certain combinations (such as recharge and endurance reduction or even accuracy) but am less clear why combinations such as recharge and hold or sleep duration are not appropriate.

In fact, I was disappointed when I saw what the possibilities were since, as a Mind/RAD controller, my main interest was to get recharge reduction, with some combination of hold or sleep or confuse but these don't seem to be available. It seems as if I will end up choosing recharge reduction and then going all the way to the paragon level to get the 2/3 ED bypass without getting additional benefit from the other bonsuses.

This is actually not a complaint (since, as I said, I have yet to use the content), just a request for [a pointer to] more information if it exists.

Thanks

The reason is indeed game balance. Basically, they want you to be able to go for one of the major categories (Damage, Acc, Endurance, or Recharge), but not be able to get any combination that includes two or more of those. Doing so would create a large amount of balance problems for the Devs to solve in later content.

Thanks for the quick response. I figured that the reason they had four separate categories was to keep damage, acc, endurance, and recharge separate. I am still interested in finding any information as to how it was determined what other enhancements to pair with each -- i.e. why not pair holds with recharge rather than immobilize or whatever was selected?

If you are referring to "crafting" a recipe: recipe + salvage = enhancement. Go to the 'University' in Cap Au Diable (via ferry) and head inside via the main doors, there are clickable tables that pop-up giving you a list of crafting choices. For non-standard Inventions (Those with peculiar names) look for 'Inventions' under this menu.

You will require the recipe + salvage + crafting cost.

There are also Abandoned Labs in Port Oakes and St Martial which works virtually the same as the University

In general, characters are not deleted. You may not be looking at the correct screens however. Also, did you at some point have a US account using the same login? If so, you will need to either add EU_ to the front of your username or _EU to the end of the username. I can never remember which it is so hopefully someone with the correct information will spot this add note which is correct.

Did you check all of the pages of characters on each server? You should be able to scroll through those pages using the arrow keys on the botton of the character list.

The characters may be on a different page than the one you are looking at.

When you find the page with the characters on them, you will need to unlock the characters you want to play. The icons at the top of the character screen will show how many unlocks you have available.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

i have a quick one, i havnt played coh in a good min when it became free i jumped back in and started trying to play with my lvl 50 ice/ice tank. I got defeated pretty quickly when i dont recall it being that easy to defeat him by pve enemies. When i looked into my set bonuses i noticed that they were not all there, meaning it used to be a good amount of regeneration bonuses and recovery bonuses when now it's one of each. Also i recalled my hp being at 2400hp and when i would use hoarfrost it jumping up to 3200hp. I asked the in game support and they wouldnt answer my question of "what happened to all the set bonuses that i had" and reffered me to the forums. Now i have looked am i just not finding it? can someone just point me in the right direction?

I'm guessing you don't have IOs "on" since you aren't a subscription player and probably haven't played enough before to have them permanently unlocked. They are there, just greyed out and non functional.

I suggest you check out the following topics at ParagonWiki.

Account - as a former subscriber you are a premium player

Paragon Rewards Program - Lifetime unlock of the Invention System is a Tier 7 benefit (27 or more Reward Tokens)

Reward Token

Also you can choose to spend 160 Paragon Points to buy a monthly unlock of the Invention System. The Auction House is also off limits but in unlocked at Tier 4 (8 reward tokens) or by spending another 160 Paragon Points for a monthly unlock.

Another thing you could, assuming you hadn't used it already, is to switch to your secondary build at a trainer and build a SO only version of your character. This way if you resubscribe or activate the Invention System in other ways you still have your IO build.

Of course resubscribing reactivates everything.

Can anyone tell me where the Rocket packs have gone? I have had one everyday since I bought them every 30 days. But now it simply has disappeared from all of my toons! I have looked and looked to try and buy them again but with no luck.

You post is a little confusing, but I'm going to guess you mean that you kept buying the Game Card, which looks like this:

And that you can't find them in stores anymore? As to where the cards have gone, I haven't seen them for awhile so it's possible they aren't printed up anymore. The LKT-1700 Rocket Pack that comes with the card only lasts for 30 days real time. You can purchase one through the Paragon Market for 200 Paragon Points (about $2.50). Or you can just go to Grandville or Firebase Zulu and buy a Raptor Pack from the vendors for only 10K infl.

If none of this answers your questions, you'll need to be a bit more specific.

Yes, to do the various invention system stuff you have to either be VIP, buy a 30 day invention license, or be tier 7 in Paragon Rewards.

Hi there,

I haven't played in quite some time and decided to come back and check out the changes to see if I want to subscribe again.

I've come across two different missions now where I can't defeat the elite bosses due to them putting me in a status effect that reads "Only Affecting Self", where I can move around and use Inspirations but can't attack. This is on a Stalker with the Integration and Resilience powers active. Break-Free doesn't work, either. The effect lasts a very long time and makes it impossible to survive despite numerous self-healing powers, even on the lowest difficulty setting. Dull Pain and Reconstruction wear off and then I'm toast.

My questions are: What the heck causes this status effect? Is there a way to avoid it? Is it now impossible to play solo outside of broker missions?

Thanks for your help!

It's always been possible to play solo outside of broker missions.

What missions/contacts are they?

You should have no problem surviving this situation, because when you're affected by "Only Affecting Self", nothing short of Hamidon can hurt you. What is happening is that you're being placed out of phase. The only way to avoid it is to pop some purples (defense inspirations) before you fight the EB.
