One of the things I noticed while testing i8 is that Lusca was frequently appearing near the tailor and the tram. Since only one Lusca can appear at a time, and can appear in an area where there's a lot more hero-traffic, I'm hoping that it will mean more frequent Lusca-fighting groups.

I'm thinking Lusca groups aren't easy to find because the silly thing was appearing with such frequency that most people have the badge and have downed Lusca so many times that they're just not interested anymore.

The only ones of these I've really had problems finding are Kraken and Jack , but I still welcome the adjustment. Easier spawns is always good for us.

I've been playing this game for 28 months. Several times, I have spent an hour or more rolling around Perez Park trying to find the Kraken. Never once have I seen him.

Last night I found him 30 seconds after I entered the zone. On behalf of long-time casual players everywhere, I sincerely thank the devs for this gift. Between this and the tram changes alone, my enjoyment of the game has increased palpably.

Although the buttcapes are nice too.

I also like the idea of faster spawn types...and I've pretty much defeated most of 'em. Now the big thing on my mind is...more/new monsters? I've played a bit of CoV (more of a hero myself) and I've literally run into a few of their monsters. They seemed really cool. So...yeah...I've said my peace.
And in response to tram comment...I LOVE IT! I7 seemed to screw up the tram a bit, but now things seem to be back in order

Did they change this? I have FREQUENTLY seen multiple instances of Lusca in IP at once.

Yes, they changed it. Lusca can only spawn one-at-a-time now.

The next change is to make the reward worth the risk for fighting these monsters. There should be an accolade for defeating all of them, IMO.

You can die a lot to some of these (Lusca with a small team), and the exp doesnt come close to covering it, and there isnt any other reason execpt a badge to fight them. There would be more participation if the team got a nice chunk of exp for defeating them.

I can think of a couple of good reasons, and they're the same ones for why a lot of people will take out a grey-con mugger, even one 30 levels below them:

1) Atmosphere. Oh no, the city is being menaced by giant monsters! The lower-level heroes in the area are sorely pressed, and need help! Heroes of the city, rally 'round!

2) Community. Think the above, in meta-game terms; these people are your potential teammates in the future, help them.

A role-playing reason, and a pragmatic one; what more do you need? Instant personal gratification?

Yes, what about the extremely elusive Arachnos Flier?? Only time I know of it EVER showing on Protector was from the help of Ghost Widow herself. Myself and I'm sure many other players would love you for fixing that sometime very soon

The Arachnos Flier spawned on Liberty yesterday. Unfortunately, people were so shocked to see it that they forgot to attack it before it flew away.

I've been playing a few lowbies (less-than-20) recently...so I've been spending a lot of time in Perez, Boomtown, and such.

I've run across the Kraken in the N area inside the wall of Perez Park 3x now...also, like one of the other posters, been playing for over 2 years-came across him ONCE in that entire time in Perez. So good change there!

Babbage? He was already spawning fairly often, but it was in the faaaaaar N central area of Boomtown. Not too many people trudge up there, since Boom can be kind of hard to get around in sometimes. Not so sure if an increase in his spawn rate was REALLY critical or not. Besides, you can always get his badge from the Synapse TF. Meh.

As to the others-if anything I think Paladin is spawning too OFTEN. Also seeing multiple occurrences of him in KR lately, in the far N area just below the elevated central highway area, off to the W side. I'll report back on Adamastor once I get up there a bit more and wander around in DA. I have been hearing multiple reports of Jurassik being up on Guardian from my sg mates. Again, appears to be having the desired effect, heroside.

Can't comment on villainside, don't play there atm due to Grandville lag on my DECENTLY EQUIPPED, NON-LOWEND machine.

:THREAD HIJACK ON: Just to put a little monkey wrench in the works here-after having fought several of these guys now, in the I7/I8 world, I still think y'all need to revisit and revamp a little of the regen rates. Perhaps, if coding would allow, try to tweak it downwards a touch on the guys that are SERIOUSLY damage resistant already, and leave it the same on the ones that are not. I think this would better 'balance' the AV/GM experience for players. :THREAD HIJACK OFF:

But as to simple spawn rates-yup, appears to be having the desired effect. Good work on that aspect, carry on!

Basically too many 50's to count, but I'm generally a brute/scrapper/tank kind of guy.

It's not that we want more Paladins running around... We want longer, more often, times for the construction of the Paladin (hey, it should take a long time to build a giant, hulking, sentient robot... never mind the electricity bill! ). I'd actually PREFER if he despawned after sitting, unloved after 2-3 hours. Droning him with my troller is hard work. That, and 1 minute to 36 hours is a bit much (How about 1 minute to 8 hours?). I got my first site construction running for presents in Kings Row, after EASILY stalking him for 60+ hours.

Yup. Without a -regen debuff, or a bunch of Fulcrums going, it's damn near impossible to take bown a GM. AVs? Remember, it has to be doable by 8 people, max!!

I recently ran into a double spawn of Paladin in KR. Not 2 paladins in separate places but both Paladins in the same place. Side by side. 3 - 8 player teams were repeatedly wiped and yes there were 2 rads debuffing.....

And as a side note I haven't seen Lucy in several weeks though I have checked about every other day.

[/ QUOTE ]Paladin often triples-up in the trap (a vaguely U-shaped piece of geometry just south of the Galaxy tunnel.) The only way for another Paladin to attempt to spawn (you get the badge for preventing the attempt, not the GM itself) is to either defeat them or drone them. Paladin's prereqs and worthless rewards for defeating the GM easily make it the least attempted GM in both games (H/V).

[/ QUOTE ]Lusca. I've seen her multiple times, and fought her twice. She has two new spawn points, one far north and one far south, which you may have missed.

Noticed this Today after a long hiatus away from the game. Jumped down into the park, totally prepared for Vahz or Skulls, and right into the face of two paladins.

No sir, not me. I stuck around to get some screenies, but bolted to my next mission.

My bad. I meant Sally in Croatoa.

[See it's been so long since I've seen her I forgot her name]

Well Sally still appear about every half hour....and it seams she gets killed alot by players so if people are not seeing her...thats why.

Anywise The only one i have trouble finding is the paladin construction and thats probably becasue it appears at weird times and does its construction into a giant monster fairly fast.

As for Jack and Eochai someone mentioned not seeing them....well they appear alot as well....although the new areas they appear in...and the places they move to are under trees sometimes whihc stops the targeting from working all the time.

So the increase in the monsters is kind of nice....a bit troublesome with the paladin...but over all still nice....

Now if only the Archanos FLier onthe Villain side would appear normally.
--------------
After second thoughts i figured i would add this little bit in to help people having trouble with giant monsters.

For Crotoa i made some macros:
/macro Jack "target_custom_next Jac"
/macro Eochai "target_custom_next Eoc"
/macro Sally "target_custom_next Sal"

That will when you press the grey button make the targeting reticle try to find the next target with the letters in the name.

As for why i used 3 letters....i like to change the letters to different things depending on where i am....and 3 letters are easier.

For example in Dark Astorie I use Ada
In Kings Row i may use Pal

Yes these will target other things that use those same letters.....but who cares...it makes it 100% easier to find the monsters.

So anywise i hope this helps.

not so much a "Spawn time increase" topic... but this is the closest place I could find to something applicable:

new idea for a GM:
All the GMs I know of are on the ground for ease of... something or other.

Make a GM that's up high... where there's no room to stand so only fliers can get to... then give the GM an AoE immob. MWAHAHAHA.

Now, that'd be a challange.
