FAULTLINE!
There was at one point a planned TF for Faultline that would have taken place in the area that you are talking about. It was never put into the game and as far as I know there are no plans to do so.
To elaborate a bit:
There was originally supposed to be a Trial (rather than a TF) set in the Faultline dam. This is why Faultline is a trial zone, with the attendant boss-heavy spawns. It was going to be similar in principle to the respec trial, with the team defending multiple support structures for the dam against waves of attackers. The trial was scrapped, but the site was built into the zone, and the description made it into the Prima guide.
With the revamp of hazard/trial zones Posi has hinted at, the trial may finally make it into the game around Issue 9. There have also been hints that there will be a trial at the crashed ship in the Rikti Crash Site (another currently trial-less trial zone).

Somebody posted some pics of that area. It seems they had found a way inside, and explored. It was really cool, with a dam and a river, as well as a very cool dam-support-structure thingy.

Issue 9 will include a rebuild of a couple of City of Heroes zones of which one is getting a major face lift. I can give you a hint though its the one we never play (Faultline, -ed).
So, Positron says one zone is getting a major facelift, and the editor (and most other folks) believe he is referring to Faultline. I think I9 would be coming sometime around February.

Well the one "we never play" is only one of two zones, Faultline or Boomtown.
Atleast Boomtown has Babbage spawns for badge w/o having to do Synapse trial...
I'd like to see Faultline get some love...well...and boomtown...I think those two zones should get refurb'd first, they're both directly connected to decent "safe" zones and both are pretty [censored]'d time to fix em they aren't THAT dangerous...RCS still has 40+lvl rikti in it everywhere...trial would work though I wouldn't expect any kinds of urban renewel happening there...if nothing else I think we should see some rikti inspired tech appearing in there and Rikti structures...bout time they started to take that zone for themselves...not like any heros ever go there

Says that you are suppose to protect 4 pylons from being attacked by waves of minions and LTs. You must successfully defend 3 of the 5 structures (pylons and building itself, I'm guessing) for 45 mins. Reward is a medal on you ID card, exp bonus, and a special enchancement that modifies 2 or more powers/effects and is valid at +/- 5 lvls instead of 3.
My friends and I thought this trial would have been cool if it was released back when the tfs first came out (can't remember what issue it was, probably I2 or I3). No one that I play with ever ventures to Faultline unless its for the badges (good spot to get the embalmed Vahz badge).
I hope they do plan on releasing this trial, this would be one of the tougher ones I imagine, but fun.

Faultline matches that description better than Boomtown. Several contacts send you to mission doors in Boomtown. There's only a few kill X missions in Faultline.

Hmm, so the Faultline is still useless?
What a shame, that zone has soo much potential.
The Activist outside the cityhal in the game regularly blurts out various things which essentially are reflections of what players have been saying. In a way, its kinda like a little joke but also the devs letting players know that they have heard the community.
One of the things the Activist shouts is asking the city to begin to rebuild Faultline. Meaning the devs are no doubt looking into revising the zone.

He's obviously not planning on being in the construction crew that goes in there to get started. Hope they get good hazard pay.

I think I only ever racked up DEBT in Faultline. Imagine a "Hunt 15 Vahz" mission, and every Vhaz minion conning blue/white, with at least 2 bosses in every spawn.
I do remember attempting to streetsweep with a group in Faultline ... once. Vahz are not a good MOB for that. It was worse than being level 7 and hunting Hydra in PP.

As I recall the devs mentioned they were thinking of having rebuilt hazard zones being changed by player actions. Basically heroes would need to defend the construction sites from villainous attacks kinda like pillboxes need defending in RV. Failure to do so makes the zone more dangerous and look like the hazard zone as it is, the more the constructions are defended the more rebuilt the zone becomes. Hopefully one way we'll see zones like Dark Astoria and the Hollows turn into city zones to represent the city's regrowth.
I think I've seen more people post on this threat than I've ever seen in the Faultline.
Including all my characters, I've been there 3 times. Once for a hunt mission; once just to check out the Dam; and once to hunt Winter Lords.

Whats with faultline i just saw a post about I8 and i was wondering maybe Faultline, it has nothing there. Its hard to navigate thru and nothings there. But if you go all the way down the map, there seems something passed the War Walls. I dunno what it is but on Vidiotmaps (shows where badges are and stuff) it shows something new down there has been like that for some while. Supposed to be new TF or sometin. If Anyone has details PLEASE POST.
