I think the world ended and was spontaneously recreated at the same time. I need to read up on more quantum physics and multidimensional creationism before I can be sure though.

Just an aside, but I re-read that interview, and Voss comes right out and explicitly says Faultline is getting rebuilt:
[ QUOTE ]
Is there a plan to eventually re-design all pre-I3 (ie Striga Isle) CoH zones to include the newer zone features?
Sure, there are always plans. As we move forward on future expansions, redesigning and updating zones is a key element. An example is the zone events. I can tell you that currently the city planners have decided that with the Rikti now quelled, and Arachnos identified, that it is time to rebuild. Faultline will be the first project, along with zone clean ups in Boomtown and expansions. It's safe to start bringing War Walls down.
Approximately when should players expect to see the next completely new zone for CoH/V? I8, I9, the paid expansion or some other time?
I am not sure how to answer this without giving too much away
so I wont. You will understand once I8 comes out. Suffice to say that the next few updates/expansions are very closely tied into one cool story. Faultline's rebuild will be a whole new zone in its own way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Emphasis is, of course, mine.
i cant wait till they update Faultline, it was one of my favorite zones. To bad there was nothing to do there, except WL!

You know what, based on his comments, I think Faultline's War Wall on the dam will be removed, and we'll get to play in that zone along the whole area. The dam will just be a structure in the middle of the zone.
Could be neat. As other ocmments here have indicated, the geometry is already done. Some I7-ish touch-ups, and the zone could get interesting. VERY interesting.
Picture the chasms and such as still being there - the tops of the various "pillars" of ground being levelled off, with buildings rebuilt atop them. Bridges between pillars, and even between buildings at different elevations. The chasms only partly filled in - enough to allow for some narrow parkland areas and/or major roadways, with stairs (and maybe elevators) up to the top of the zone.
Thus, you have the same vertical "wow, that's neat" effect of the current Faultline ... but ... you no longer have the "AAAAH! how do I get back out of this pit!" problem of Faultline's vertical nature.

If you all want, I'll upload a video of me exploring the trial area. It's pretty cool, mainly because almost no one goes back there.

All of the zones need to be redesigned along the lines of Striga. Each with their own contacts, storyline and missions and probably Task Forces or Trials.
[/ QUOTE ]
I completly agree with this statement. All the zones have stories behind them so why can't we add in some contacts and TFs/Trials to make the zones more interactive, and make it so more people know the stories.
Personally the Dark Astoria story is my favorite, it's so sad.
One thing. In beta Babbage used to spawn in Faultline, and I believe that zone was more popular than Boomtown (as I recall - it's been awhile). When CoH was released Babbage was moved to Boomtown.
Boomtown and Faultline are the biggest, visible offenders when it comes to not being used.
The Abandoned Sewer Network, The Shadow Shard, Dark Astoria, Perez Park, Eden, and the Rikti Crashsite aren't exactly brimming with activity(or activities to do, heh.)
But as for Faultline and Boomtown, I'd think that Boomtown would be the reconstruction zone. For one it's the bigger zone, which means more opportunity to fight for neighborhoods. Second, it's geography I imagine would be much easier to switch on the fly than Faultline's. Third, Faultline is just too uniqe a design to be changed into a "normal" city zone. The Boomtown look, on the other hand has already been replicated on outdoor mission maps. Nobody misses anything if Boomtown goes clean.
EDIT: Okay....maybe they are fixing Faultline....
I will say this. Boomtown looks like it's going under construction. So you'd think it is the one that is going to look rebuilt in I8.
Faultline looks like construction has stopped for awhile. I don't see any _constructive_ change to Faultline in the near future.....
I for one do like spending some free time in faultline. Like many others I skipped it entirely with my main and only went there with my alts when I had to. Though when my main was getting up in lvls and finally hit 50 I decided to finally get all the exploration badges in the game. It was then I finally went to Faultline and was amazed at how well the zone actually looked. I spent a few hours just exploring the zone once the badges were added and the plaques read. Now that I am hero of the city I still go there to patrol and try to make a difference in the zone.
