So do the upgrade costume changes randomly vary from summon to summon like the minions themselves, or do they remain the same each time?

Heh, not a problem for most people on the fourms. I saw this in another thread after posting in this one. Is there any word on if this will be included with I7, sometime during I7 as a minor patch (such as togas and laurals during the febuary event) or if it will be until I8 until we see them? Really, seems llike if you have NPCs wearing them that work off the basic player skeleton, it should be an easy thing to insert, the hard part was making/animating them. Hope to see them (realitively) soon!

The upgrade costumes only vary in color, from what I've seen.

...this begs the question - what were those guys from the i7 trailer that looked like cowboy bankrobbers, with trenchcoats, dusters, masks, and dual ingrams?

OK, I'm not sure where you guys are coming from with the whole "everything is good enough" attitude. The animation speed sucks. Period. I hate how it takes at least half a second to aim before firing the MM pistol(s). This may not seem like much, but that's a half-second longer to use inspirations, a half-second longer to activate another power... it adds up. Why cant the single-shot be like the pets'? Also, I would appreciate greatly a choice of weapons at the beginning (a sub-power set menu) so you could choose from a variety of different weapons (pistols, automatic pistols, uzi, sniper rifle, rocket launcher[may be a bit too powerful for starting weapon], nail gun[Like the one in F.E.A.R.], MAYBE A LAPTOP GUN! COOL! sentry turret and machine gun in one!, etc.)
IF pistols are the only choice, they should be a bit beefier in damage, or at least give all powers in the set slight chance to knockback (would give impression of more stopping power)
Would it be out of the question to choose different weapons? Like maybe at lvl 20 get another gun?
If you only can change one of these things, definately beef up the pistol dmg, sound and knockbackness. Thanks

Yes, it would be great to grab a machine gun firing rocket launcher at the start of the game, but there is the issue of balance to keep in mind. All the MM sets have only one choice for a weapon, pluse laser gun has its two blasts and AoE grenade, Mercs get their SMG thing, again 2 blasts and a nade, Dark gets its dark blast powers lifted from the def set, Ninja get its bow and so on. MM's don't have the power slots left to throw in a snipe, another AoE, more blasts ect.

As for the animation time, its not that bad. Seems about the same for any other weapon type power (bows, AR). I like to make powerful characters too, but lets not get so fixated were down to counting seconds on powers that arn't really the MM's primary method of dealing damage.

I'm not sure if this is just my imagination but...

When my thugs show up (without upgrades) they seem a lot brawnier then they used to be. The shirts stick to their abs and their arms seem thicker.

I agree, Raindog. Thugs MM attacks line up well with the animation times of existing sets.

Knockdown would be cool, not knockback. I'm an avid pistol enthusiast and most pistols really don't knock someone flat back. They'll spin/falldown, but the discharge to mass ratio at impact "usually" isn't enough to knockback.

And don't spout Kasul .454 or DE figures at me, i own them, and know what they're capable of :P


Don't have time to sit and read the forums much. usually only at work, which means i can't take the time to just keep browsing them. That being said, QUESTION:
Have they addressed teh slow thuggos yet? (slow to respond to order, slow running etc) or is that still on the list of things to accomplish?

Also, would knockdown be too much? Having a 40 Merc/Dark MM (and the ONLY attack she has is Slug, at it has only it's one slot, she's heavy on the soldiers/dark/pool side) She's still a PvE powerhouse, and I guess the only reason I'd like to see knockdown is cuz the knockback from slug can mean instadoom to whatever poor sop i TpFoe into my minions

Skip....the....spitting.....poisons.....umm....Tha t'd be, I dunno, crazy LoL. Envenom and Neurotoxic Breath are awesome. Maybe a little harder to fit with the drugs concept...but doable with a little thought.

While I don't agree with Rage on the animation time of the pistols, I think they're really fast and stylish.

I do agree we NEED a different Pistol for our MM. It was itching at me for a long while, and I just realized why I don't like our Pistol for Thugs MM. Whats the problem with it you say? The pistol is LONGBOW STANDARD ISSUE. Every low level Longbow minion uses this exact gun, and it is eventually faded out of use.

So, I have to wonder, why is my Thugs MM using a Standard Issue that is only used by low level Longbow? And why the heck am I using Longbow weaponry anyways?!

Otherwise, I am LOVING the Thugs MM Set to death.

That would be because often models are reused. Take a long hard look at the machine gun used by the 1st tier Mercs and then go look at the one used by certain Council operatives. They are exactly the same. It's not a dig at Cryptic/Play NC btw. This is pretty normal for most game developers.

Oh, I'm not complaining that they're reusing models. Just, I'd have prefered something not belonging to the Longbow. It just doesn't seem, right. lol I dunno. I would actually love to have more of a Revolver like the tier1 Thugs pets, that is if they fix how the Revolvers eject casings.

The Mercs MM got a new gun, and so did the Robots MM. I was kinda hoping for some new flashy Pistol (Or a Malta Gunslinger Pistol) for the Thugs MM, instead of a pistol that lv9 or lower Longbow use.

A couple of things:

1. Crey agents were using the pistol model thug MMs get long before Longbow ever existed.

2. A semi-auto, magazine-fed pistol makes more sense for an urban thug than a revolver. Why they went ahead and gave the tier 1 pets some odd dirty-harry monster revolver is beyond me - they should have given the thug MM and the tier 1 pets black 9mm's and be done with it. At least, then, they could have the mag-tossing upgrade make sense (except for the bruiser, who doesn't use guns).

3. Reusing models and animations just make sense - but at least give us a recolor (like having black pistols instead of silver). It's also a videogame staple (Scorpion and Sub Zero, anyone?)

4. Where are the f*&#$ing trenchcoats!!?? *takes a deep breath*

OOO! OOO! Brainstorm! Give them retrofitted Lugers! Those would look super cool! Or maybe Mac-10 automatic pistols. I would LOVE burst with those!
