Just so I get this right, thugs get their own leadeship abilities?

Enforcers (one of them, that I know of, at least) grant Tactics and Maneuvers to your henchmen, but not to you. They only grant one, until you upgrade them. Don't recall which and won't be able to, since I deleted my Thug MM to prevent me from going overboard on leveling it, instead of testing for bugs.

Just got my Bruiser today. Love it. Only thing, he doesn't benefit from tactics or manuevers unless with the enforcers. And typically you don't want to send in your enforcers really close. Maybe I might have to change my play style. I can't wait to slot some damage on him. And maybe one more accuracy SO.

I've found he's usually fine without your Enforcer's buffs. With his inherent resists, he can take a beating pretty well.

Maybe I was hoping that I could get him semi-invincible. Too bad you can't slot fo dmg resist. At least I didn't see it on the list...

i would love to see all pets slottable for +damres (or +def for ninjas). espcially the brusier and undead/ninja Lts

It sure would be nice if the buffs also worked on you. Gosh the Protector Bots give you some nice bubbles. Why not a little leadership bonuses from your henchies? Every good leader (or mastermind) should listen to the good advice of his subordinates.

Doesn't work that way and wouldn't make sense, especially in the villain world.

We as MM's give a buff to all our hencheman. The Enforcer grants a buff to those below him. Chain of command sort of thing. If you start listening to the Enforcer you may soon find yourself his henchman instead of him being yours.

You used to be able to however the game reads damage and damage resist as the same thing. This was an issue with beta when we were hit with ED first. The pets were being given wrong bonuses etc because of how the game treats dam resist/damage.

The current incarnation is actually better since it scales and doesn't cost you anymore slots.

BEFORE they had to change it yes, slotting made a difference but now you don't need to.

Seeing as how this is all thug-ish and gang related. Why not throw them a bag of Superadine. It might not give much explanation to having a second pistol, but at least its not the Mercenary animation

I have a question for all of you now experianced with Thugs, and hopefuly some of you have played mercenaries as well.

I have a merc/traps mastermind, as well as every other MM type 30+ now, 2 being 40. My merc/trap is definatly the lowest damage dealing mm I have.

Is Thug damage similier to mercenary damage? or is it slightly better? The 1 damage ticks from the minions really ticks me off for mercenaries.. I could get better than that from rain of fire:P

I mainly ask this question, because even if the damage is the same, I will still play as thugs. I just want to know so I can pick a 2ndary.. which won't be traps if the damage is the same.

Just noticed it happening today, but when my thugs fire, their guns vanish so that it looks liek they just squeeze their fists to fire. It then goes through with the redraw animation after every shot. MINE aren't going away, just the thugs' guns

[/ QUOTE ]

Just call them all Chuck and see the laughs roll in

[i]edit: I haven't played a Merc yet, but you don't get little 1's running up from your thugs...you get nice round numbers LoL. They don't get submachine guns (enforcers do, but that's at 12)..but Revolvers. So it's a single shot (or two with their Dual wield) for Instant damage, not DoT. With the third upgrade they get the Empty Clip attack, which is a Cone, 4-6 shot I think, but the damage is pretty good (from my MMs point of view, only made it to 18 so far)

The Enforcers Start with one Uzi, upgrade to 2, both of their attacks seem to be cones though (I'm not positive about that though)

Maybe I'll try a Merc later tonight...Start a Merc while my Wife starts a thugs and see how they stack up side by side

I know its style again. I thought the Enforcers were going to be wearing trench coats and sunglasses. I was very disappointed when I saw him in a short leather coat not looking at all like a cool "Enforcer". Even putting him in a suit and tie would be better than the current look. But then I am a big fan of most "waist coat" styles -Kalinda etc.

The bodyguard function will definetly make PvP a more viable option for my MM.

Ok....this is just a quick test I did...but Mercs vs Thugs...

No enhancements, straight to Mercy, no Training

Against a Level 2 Mamba Blade (Lt.)

Level 1 Soldier:
Brawl=8 damage
Burst=9 Damage (3 tics of 3 damage)

Level 1 Punk:
Brawl=8 Damage
Shot=10 Damage

Not exactly conclusive, but there's a quick run down for you. I had to go by the numbers popping over the Mamba's head...for some reason the damage does not show up in the combat log, so it may actually be the SAME damage. I.E 3.3 damage shows as 3 over the mobs head, so three tics of 3.3=9.9 etc....(I don't think they round up for the damage numbers that show over the mobs head.)

Posse thugs (Gang War power) will not attack your target unless he attacks you first. This has resulted in my posse standing around a bad guy doing nothing for their whole summoning duration.

This may be what is intended as it matches the behavior of controller pets, but makes the power limited in usefulness if you do not want to be hit.

Yes sir but controller pets attack if a enemy is in range like fluffy will hit any 1 close enough to him but Gang wars Dose nothing i found putting on body guard and attacking works good at starting up Gang War and your hench's but is still not the way it should work.

Another thing unlike other summons why dosent Gang War have a icon in the top right hand corner to show it's still summoned and duration flashing when it is almost over or all your pose has been defeated i think that needs to be put in aswell.

This is what I have found useful for my thugs MM level 25....When using Gang War, I spawn them on top of the baddie I want them to attack. The baddie then attacks me and that in turn makes them attack the baddie. Its working great for me. I will gladly take one hit for my gang war anytime to make sure they woop [censored] on the mob I've spawned them in.

From the Euro Patch Notes:

Powers - Players

* The thugs summoned by Mastermind/Thugs/Gang War should be more aggressive now.

I'll have to try it out and see how big of an improvement it is.

Posted

Yep. They're super-aggressive now. Upon summoning them, they'll immediately attack anything in the area. It appears that you still draw aggro from activating Gang War though.

I got my bruiser today and was using him out on the street and he was using ALL his attacks. I am not seeing the buggs with the bruiser that everyone is talking about. The only problem I see with them is that he has no KB protection and he changes target a little more then I would like. But overall I am gonna love having him in my MM set.

Posted

Wow. Can't wait for this to go live, dem boys look nifty.

Though I still wish we could customize the look of our pets.

Then I could have my Thugs MM Summon the bruiser that looks just like my brute, the mighty Lunchbox!

Wow, kickass on the 2nd upgrade costume changes! Thats fantastic stuff. But when are we player characters going to get long coats and clip belts? C'mon devs, give the people what they want! It's bread and circus time here!
