I can stop Hurricain from messing up FC

It would be completely different in Sirens if there were still street fighting going on even though some people were up in the FC building doing 1vs1, but there arnt so I have to go to the building to even see any villians. Blame all those heroes and villians who promote going up there just to chit-chat and rep farm!

No harm done.

I understand why you have a problem with him. I'm not saying that his behavior is exemplory. Im more concerned with people calling in petitions because he wants PvP rep and isnt willing to conform to the people who enjoy FC. I also understand the frustration it causes people who do enjoy SC. I like FC....sometimes, but would much have it removed from Sirens Call because i feel it degrades the quality of the bounty system, and its getting rediculous that people are flaming some dude in a public forum because they are too lazy to move it to a safe, organized area, such as the Arena.

Its been said before a hundred times, as we are once again beating a dead horse. Will somebody Please actually TRY doing it in the arena, before saying how bad it is?

once you find enough people that are interested in FC in Siren's you have to zone out of Siren's...run/fly/jump to the green line or yellow line...hit talos or galaxy or PI...get to the arena, set up the match...wait for everyone to join...start the match...and then 30 seconds later....the match is over...taking 5-10 minutes to zone and zone and zone and set up...just for a 30 second match?? That IS a hassle...FC Matches are MUCH easier to set up...where there is already a large group of players interested in FC right in a zone where you only have to move within a single zone...jump fly, or tp up the side of a building...

people like to see other players ... no one is going to stay at something when it appears that no one is there...on transit from Siren's to the Arena players can get lost...they can end up at the wrong Arena if everyone is meeting at a certain one...then arriving at the wrong arena, that person would get discouraged and just simply head back to Sirens Call...

Every time you plug the Arena, it bugs me because you guys don't UNDERSTAND why the Fight Club was made in the 1st place and WHY the Fight Clubs have been so popular...and you don't understand why the PvP Zones are so much more interesting....I"m not going to spend precious time to set up an event at the arena for a match to last 30 seconds...to get a map that I can't even choose...Not when I can stay where I am...and have a nice simple duel once in a while without getting ganked on several times...I can do that without having to zone out of Siren's...

And who's to say there won't be people following the mass of folks to the arena just to interrupt the 1 v 1 matches...(if a 64 man event was going down...) People might get restless after waiting a few minutes and decide to beat up the losing side to every 1 v 1 match...so no...the Arena wouldn't solve any problems...it can just as easily be interrupted or "griefed" on that would probably turn a lot of people away...

In all honesty, I know that Catholic can attack people in FC,and while that bugs me..alot! I know it is an open pvp zone.

But what I really dont like is his giving players debt. There is NO excuse for that and very much deserves a petition.

Gumbo

1 1/2 cups Medium Dark Roux, see How To Roux, recipe follows
2 cups diced onions
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced green bell pepper
1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
2 quarts shrimp, crab or chicken stock
1 pound andouille sausage, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds, browned in a skillet, and drained on paper towels
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Dash hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 pounds medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 teaspoon cajun spice
1/2 pound lump crabmeat, picked over for shells and cartilage
1/3 cup green onion tops, chopped
1/2 cup coarsely chopped parsley leaves
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup file powder, or to taste
Steamed White Rice, for serving

Heat the roux in a medium-sized heavy stockpot over medium-high heat. When hot, add the onions, celery and bell pepper. Stir mixture until onions begin to brown, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and continue to cook for 1 minute. Slowly pour in stock, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Add the browned sausage, bay leaves, Worcestershire, hot sauce, cayenne, salt, and pepper.

Bring gumbo to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer until gumbo is slightly reduced, about 50 minutes. (Gumbo should cook long enough for the roux flavor to mellow and for any floury taste to dissipate.)

Season the shrimp with the cajun spice in a small bowl. Stir in the seasoned shrimp, crabmeat, green onions, parsley, thyme and basil. Cook until shrimp are cooked through, about 5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings, if necessary. Sprinkle in file powder and cook, stirring, 2 minutes more, or pass file at the table for guests to thicken as desired. Remove bay leaves before serving.

Serve in warmed soup bowls over steamed white rice.

How to Roux:
3 cups vegetable oil
5 cups all-purpose flour

Place a heavy, iron Dutch oven, (or iron skillet with deep sides) over medium heat and heat the oil until just smoking. Whisk in flour, a little at a time and cook, whisking constantly, until roux becomes smooth and thick. Continue to cook, constantly stirring with a wooden spoon and reaching all over bottom of pan, until roux darkens to desired color. Be careful not to produce specs of black. The roux must remain an even color throughout process. If specs appear you must start over.

Dude, you're delusional! The only person that you're harming is yourself.

Anyway, I like Fleetwood Mac too...did you see their reunion looooong time ago? The best part, to me, was when the USC Marching Band came out to do the Turk song...it was great!!!

See you in the battlefield...

I already gave two solutions, Get phase shift for your villian so when you see him coming you hit the panic button, or move the fc near the villian drones and tp him into them as soon as you see that cloud coming. Villians could as well just have me phase them if someone spots him. No biggie. i just want his behavior to be more freindly.

If he was, infact, getting kills. I would have nothing to say as his points would be completely valid and irrefutable.

However thats just not the case. He's going up there with the goal of disruption and causing debt. The first part is fine, but the second, and I don't care WHO posts on this, is griefing. Respect.

Yes you do. I love Kung Pao, so I'd definately give the recipe a shot as long as all the ingredients are relatively easy to find.

I got this recipe for Pad Thai that I really wanted to make, but a couple of the ingredients were exotic imported stuff i couldn't find, so I had to order them off the internet. 2 weeks later they showed up and I made the Pad Thai. It sucked.

YUMMY!!!! Gumbo is right next to Jambalaya in my all time favorite food. I could eat either every day of the week. I still can't tell the difference, they look and taste so much alike.

Honestly, its no more of a hassle to go to a PvP zone, and jump up onto a building. Setting it up takes seconds. Its much more controlled, and you can get 64 players in there at one time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry I disagree. That's why the arena is dead snd Sirens is active. However, if they put aa Arena dorr in Sirens that would help.

Like MB said:

Meanwhile we have people here calling someone out in a public forum..which is ALSO against the rules. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I never outright Identified the player until he posted and I responded to his post.

im sorry, but catholic goes to the zone more than to just "grief" i have teamed with Catholic multiple times and we have gone out bounty hunting as well as hotspot fighting. he doesn't go there just to grief.

I defend his right to hunt his target. I defend his right to get spectators. However, his sole intention is not to hunt, BUT INSTEAD to disrupt others. To ruin the fun of other players.

Next time a thread gets uppity, I'll post my Crawfish Etouffe recipe. That's a good one, too. Particularly good if you have a stream nearby where you can catch fresh live crawfish. Just be sure to "purge" them.

Purge - The act of cleaning live seafood. Place the critters in a big bucket full of water. Every night before bed, dump out the water and refill it. Do this for three days, and the critters can be eaten without fear of contracting some nasty bacterial infection (as long as you cook it thoroughly).

actually not neccessarily. yesterday afternoon Catholic came into the zone, came up to fight club - no hurricane running. he immediately gets attacked by 2 stalkers and a MM.

all he did was set a single foot into FC and he was ganked. Is it griefing no, but according to a lot of posts here it could be harrasment

What are you talking about with this 30 seconds stuff. you can customize it a lot better than that. There is plenty of room to do more than one battle at a time. People aren't going to go out of their way to grief a fight club event in the arena...if that is a problem, there is an invite only option.

People dont have to communicate in Broadcast in Sirens. there is an arena tab that anyone can see in both games, or any other zones.

request that they ask for an invite for FC, in which the person setting it up, can leave out the known griefers.

Fight Club was not much more than an Idea that was sparked here on the Forums. Theres not much more to understand about a bunch of heroes and villains standing around picking their noses while 1 battle is going on without insps or repel powes, all while people are getting shunned because their bounty is "off limits". Sorry, but before i knew what FC was, i got scremed at when on a villain chasing down one of my bounty. If anyone that was being harrassed, it was me, or anyone else who didnt know what the heck was going on up there. I did a little chatting with people, understood what they were doing, and in good consious left them alone. But its not right to expect everyone else to feel that way.

Villians, when you see the Knight coming, call me and I'll phase shift you. The other thing is to to get phase shift for yourself. It will certainly help you in PvP anyway and you can watch a match on FC in peace.

i haven't read the entire thread yet. but i did pm Cuppa yesterday about this.

here is the pms we exchanged

[ QUOTE ]

Sent to: CuppaJo

hey Cuppa im not sure if your the right person to ask about this, and if not can you direct me to the right person to pm but here goes.

i am sure you have noticed a lot of flaming on champion for sure about Fight Club. if you didn't know Fight Club is basically a 1 vs 1 duel on top of a building in Sirens Call. Everyone is up in arms about people who come to the top of the building to attack people there and they are considered griefers because of it.

The people on the roof believe that since they are having 1 vs 1 duels that they are safe from attacks and that anyone attacking them (while they are fighting or watching) or disrupting the fights in away are griefers.

i know for sure that on Saturday a person on the Champion forum playing a illusion/Storm controller was interferring with Fight Club was supposedly petitioned 3 times. Judging by the fact that he does this a lot i doubt that these are the only petitions against him. This leads me to belive that it is not considered griefing.

What would be nice if it is entirely possible would be for a red name to post whether it is griefing or not, or even if it has been decieded on whether it is or not. I am pretty sure that other servers have their versions of Fight Club just as well as champion.

i do know for a fact that a official post on the issue would stave off some of the flame wars in our forum for sure.

If you can answer or direct me to someone else who can answer this it would be greatly appreciated

It's a PvP zone - it's not griefing - is there a post on this that you think would be a good one for a red name post? send me the link...

therefore whatever catholic does is not griefing.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry TA, this goes to show it's all in "how you ask the question" I do not dislike him due to the fact he attacks spectators. It is due to the fact he is harassing other players, affecting others who are trying to collect bounty, causing debt on purpose, with NO INTENTION to collect his own bounty.

Hmm well its kinda hard to kill a person when your being attacked by 10 other villians just becuase you go after someone who happens to be on the fc building.

How the hell did you know that I pick my nose...who have you been talking to FF? Darn, I've been discovered, I need to be more careful next time.

On a serious note, I like to go to FC not only because you can do 1v1 matches (yes, I know, Arena is great for that too...I just think FC is a bit more convenient AND with greater rewards) but also to watch my future oponents and learn their tactics -- yes, I'm talking about you Dinah! Seriously, it's great to see how others use their powers.
