I know this is somewhat off topic but I learn quite of bit watching these creative people breeze through these TF/SF missions. The game has taken a shift from developing and learning to work with different play styles to only playing for gear (so-to-speak), doing the absolute minimum necessary in the shortest amount of time.

I'm one of those old fashion, ball-and-chain, old school players who still do story arcs and level up characters the way people use to.

To each their own.

That catgirls are drooling I'm sure...I guess that explains why Virtue has taken the population lead over Freedumb.

I really expected this to be about a chick being left over from the night before - you know, surprise, surprise I'm 16. Something like that.

Hey look! I'm replying to myself...again!

I was able to get in after those steps above.

Personalities were always the hardest thing. There seems to be more internet cupcakes and internet tough guys than those that land in between.

Now I just login and play - kinda nice. SGs/VGs are moot where I play. Everything is ran on globals.

I tried again for shlitz and gigglez, it's fixing my install - maybe it'll go through this time.

24 minutes and counting...gonna go tag the wife, bblkthxbai.

Get this error after logging into CoH client, click on any server - most notably Liberty, then I get the error: No response from this server. Try a different server, or try playing this one later.

I rebooted, restarted the client, reverified files, tried safe mode. No dice.

Any other ideas?

My main was an alcoholic - but for good cause (or so he thinks). His powers were only sustained by his binge drinking. Science Fire/EM Blaster.

He quit drinking for his true love then eventually became a normal person.

Hey, Peterbilt. I've enjoyed Liberty in my short stint. There are some very, very good players here.

Not sure what happened to my old icon or even which one.

I know this one guy named JimBobLugar. JimBobLugar plays CoH/V and has played it since launch. JimBobLugar has left the game two or three times and has come back and is currently active. I know...sounds familiar, right?

A few weeks ago JimBobLugar became privy to a mission that made leveling advancement extremely easy and efficient. He took advantage of this and leveled 3 or 4 of his characters by 10 or so levels and even got to 50 with one of his characters who was level 45 beforehand. Now that said mission has been fixed, Bob has explained to me that he's finding it very difficult to login and play. JimBobLugar told me he's trying to rationalize how he can spend all this time playing a game where advancement now seems so slow and is now perceiving playing the game as a waste of his time and money.

I've explained to JimBobLugar that he seems to enjoy leveling his characters, soloing, teaming, etc. - this is his favorite aspect of the game, in fact. Furthermore, because JimBobLugar used that mission to hurry his advancement that his poor decision to overplay that mission has now ruined the very reason he plays the game.

So the reason for my post is to convince you to send words of encouragement and support to JimBobLugar to change his name because I'm so effing tired of typing out "JimBobLugar".

I made a come back myself several months ago. The game has really changed quite a bit - even the preference of being in a SG/VG has changed and may not be necessary anymore.

I found it easier to join the Liberty Channel (and eventually got invited to a few others, Robo Lounge, one of hazy's other temporary channels - can't remember the name).

I also built up my global friends. My point being joining a SG/VG when I came back was unnecessary.

I used to have a reputable SG/VG on a different server and found the management of it to drive me away from the game. I quit the game and switched servers, mostly.

I remember logging into the game and just doing tells for the first 30-45 minutes - managing personalities, arguments, etc. I hated it! I just wanted to play!

Anyway, welcome back.

The last few teaming sessions on the Kin teams have been much better IMO - regarding your Speed Boost comment.

When we did Hess on Monday, I was SB'ed so much (stacked 3 or 4 of 'em), I couldn't control my character trying to pull down the AV from scaffolding above. Everytime I jumped, I'd ended up on the other side of the room in cave.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have SB stacked 3 or 4 times than not have it all.

I'm going to be late tonight IF I even make it on tonight. I did move my guy over to blue side. I'll holler when/if I login.

I'll go ahead and move over to blue side so we have a presence there in case a couple of others do it and expect a team.

May make sense to keep a small contigency of us gold side but it's your show and your call.

I think about 1/2 of us are lvl 20+. So the question came up about leaving Rogue Isles. I couldn't answer the "when" questions. Can you address this hazy?

I'm not sure I know how to leave the Rogue Isles as this is my first time playing there. Any inputs/suggestions would help a Fan out. Thanks.

Crap...how did I miss this? Back on my Champion days, I had loads of followers that would read my character stories I would post.

Loads being about 3 people.

Kidding aside, it's one of my life long goals to write a book. Some day...

Had I been more observant, I would have entered the contest. Oh well.

Many of the folks last night got to level 12+.

I only died 13 times on my tank. New record.

I'll try and show up when I can (stupid RL comittments). Because I won't consistently be on time/present, I'll try and stay a bit ahead of the curve level-wise.

I held up a couple players being able to ITF with the frads since I started a couple weeks late...I don't want to put anyone else in that position with this group.

Welcome back. I took a two year hiatus myself and I've been back since March. I'm still learning/getting caught up.

The game is completely, completely different than launch. It must seem all new to you.

Novel idea - drink and play. I may have to try that sometime.
