I'm honestly confused by something here, and that is that, from what I'm understanding, there's a large, mixed group of heroes and villains attending a regular event, in which a general "truce" is called for the sake of dueling in an open zone. Into this event, some people are deliberately taking actions that some view as harassment, and others view as fair play in the zone.
So what I don't understand is, if there are a bunch of heroes and villains around, why does no one take it upon themselves to police their event? What I mean by that is this: I understand the argument about the Arena being too far, too annoying to set up, etc. Much easier to be in the zone, and just jump to a building. Whether or not it's accurate, I don't know, but I understand the point. What I don't get is how that many people can carve out something like Fight Club, which is not the "Vision" of the zone, and yet no one stands up specifically to say "Hey, I'll keep an eye out for those guys while the rest of you duke it out."
I can't help but see Fight Club as akin to frontier work: you're carving out a niche for yourselves in a place where that niche doesn't naturally exist. Problem seems like the attitude is that once it's been carved out, it should be left alone, and not doing so is wrong. That just seems... unreasonable, really, considering the obvious contention over the activity. I have no problems with Fight Club, but if it's a situation where it's the Fight Club community that feels that it's griefing, and not the designers, then it's the Fight Club community that needs to take steps to cope with it. Grab a Mind Dom, and peg em with a sleep, or a Brute with Hurl, and knock them out of the sky. If there are that many people just standing around waiting their turn, why not have some of them take up the responsibility of making sure no one charges the ring, so to speak? Maybe there's some reason this hasn't been done yet, and I'm just missing it...
There's clear disagreement with regards to Fight Club, and both sides are allowed their perspectives. That being the case, the only thing one can really do is to shore up your position. Make it more of a hassle to attack Fight Club than it is to not attack them. There's no way to convince non-FC goers that they are in the wrong to attack the group, or even just behave like morons towards them, just as there's no way that childish behavior can convince FCers to stop holding FC. The designers seem to hold the opinion that PvP in the zone is take it as it comes, and therefore there's nothing wrong with FC being disrupted.
So if FC needs this to stop, why not own it? You guys have come as far as to have it happen with enough regularity that it's a known factor in Champion's Siren's Call. Why not take it a step further? Get say, 3-4 people on a side, team em up with Tactics and keep the eyes peeled. I know in raiding, there used to be some that enjoyed guarding the raid group from monster-pulling griefers and the like even more than they enjoyed the raid. Maybe there are more of those in SC, willing to help keep something they think is special from being disrupted.

I've teamed with Cath before with his Scrapper. He was decent, nothing spectacular, and we were racking up plenty of bounties. Then he told me that he'd be right back with his Stormy because his bounty was on the FC roof. He didn't go check or attempt to kill his bounty with his Scrapper, and I never even went up there. I didn't team with his Stormy, so I don't know where it led from there.
If you don't like Fight Club, you could always do what I did one evening. I grabbed a couple SG mates and we raided the FC building whenever our bounty was up there. People whined, but we just killed our bounty and moved on. After 1-2 trips, we rarely had to go back because they knew they couldn't enforce any rules.
It all comes down to wanting to cause grief for other people or not. We killed our bounties successfully by taking the 5 minutes it took to put together a team. He apparently just flies up and knocks everyone around with no intention of getting a bounty. Our actions pissed a few off. His piss a lot off. I would say that he's shared here that he has no intention of compromising, and it sounds like the villains have determined that they will enforce FC if they want to.
Sounds like both sides have reached a solution. Good job folks.

It saddens me that My pals don't get along. And this can translated in the pve world. I have seen people leave a team becuz they just can't stand a person. This is just not what heroes would do.
I understand completely how CK feels. I used to hate FC. hated it hated it hated it. It ruinded the whole mood of SC. So what did I do about it? I joined them.
And occasion if I feel like Whooping some [censored] on top of the FC building I do it. I just do it for the kill and fun . I don't take FF and Hami punch every villian I see. That is no fun to fight someone who cannot defend themselves.
I want every one to enmasse Forgive Cath for his past actions and understand where he is coming from while at the same time asking him to stop with his behavior or alter it so that he doen't ruin every one's night. I have taken Force Master many nights and picked on a brute or corrupter or two while they were spectating at FC. You dont' see a whole forum of upset people at FM. Why? becuz I do it with respec for the game and the people behind the toons as well as not engaging the entire FC.

thats a bit different, if I attacked you first, then it would be the same, but tp foe is usually an opening move. Your not defending yourself then, your doing it cause you like to be nasty. sides, that wouldn't really do anything to me, other than get me to fling them on you.

Ironically enough Sleepy, that is defending himself. There's not a peace sign that you can be holding up, so therefore, there's no way for him to know that you won't start a fight by pushing him into mobs. Thus, he's pre-emptively defending himself. He's safer assuming that everyone he meets in a PvP zone is going to try to fight him than to assume no one is going to try to fight him unless he starts the fight.

I'm all for doing what you gotta do to survive. But thats just malicious and shows you have absolutely no respect for the people who play the game with you.
While I wouldn't tp you into npcs, I'd just kill you, but i wouldn't think twice about standing by watching others do it if you're going to behave like that.

In a PvP zone, everyone has to assume everyone's out to get them. RL != PvP zone.
And that's great, Sleepy. Get a team before you PvP. Otherwise you're just being a [censored] No petitions, no Red Names, no rulings needed.

i just got home from work so im not sure if this was covered or not. but you just shot yourself in the foot there machete. Thats exactly what is happening. except its the peoples whose idea of fight club is being imposed on the zone. and anyone who doesn't agree with those ideals is being labelled an [censored], a griefer and a ganker
