Bonus points if you know where the micro dot is, Who Warren R. is and could make the duck looking dragons kill themselves by putting the arrow looking sword in the middle of the room and getting them to chase you. Double bonus if you ever realized you could use the magnet to move the bridge and simply move down from screen to screen or used the Bat stealing behavior to win the game by making it fly into the golden castle for you.

In the same vein... when you team with somene named John Smith and they don't get the lines" He's on the Jazz" or "I love it when a plan comes together..."
Also you know youre an old gamer when you can remember when Battletech was an RPG, NOT a click GAME....

You remember that Chainmail was the rule set that the Grayhawk books where taken from and those would be made into AD&D then back into the boxed sets.
You look at the boxed set play testers list and know some of those folks.

But have you seen _the_ doctor in a Sinbad movie? (Golden Voyage in this case) My dad took me to all 3 of the Harryhausen Sinbads in the theater. Wasn't until years later I realized it was the doc. Tommy plays a great villain.
And once again, the old gamer thread comes back to haunt me...

Damn AirWulf, your memory recall is way better then mine. I have all those names and more stuffed in my head somewhere, just trying to pull them out is like trying to find a 3 eyed Bee in a Bee-Hive....if one existed. Anyway, major kudos to you for that, hell I own Devastator and can't recall their individual names....so depressing.
Don't think I ever paid mind to the City-bots, and my friend knows the Aerial-bots. Oh man, now I have to go pull out my seasons and watch them all.
I know from one of the movies there was Hot Rod who became Rodinus Prime (reading Ultra Magnus' name brought that to mind). I can't recall those Transformers that they ran into in that movie though...on the garbage planet, and who could forget the massive Unicron lol.
Oh ya, I only asked ya for the names of those from the series...not the movies...oh well, consider them bonus material

Even though the Go-bots came first, Transformers was way better...until they went all Beast Wars back on Energon, the very last series of Transformers to have existed before they came up with the Energon saga. I hate Go-bots.
Good Guys
Leader-1
Scooter
Turbo
These were the three main ones on Earth. The ones they ran into on Gobotron I have no hope of recalling.
Bad Guys
Cy-kill
Crasher
Cop-tor
For the Transformer movie... One of my favorites:
HotRod/Rodimus Prime
Ultra Magnus
Blur
Springer
Arr-Cee
The previously named Dinobots
Cup
The Junkions (planet of Junk) led by Wreck-Gar
Galvatron
Cyclonus
The Swoops
If you want to get into the later series...
You have the earliest Predacons that combined to form Preda-king.
Aerial-bots... Hmmm. Formed Superion. There were 5 that if I recall. Silverbolt
Air Raid
Fire Flight
Skydive
Sling Shot
Beast Wars I happened to like because it tied in the origanal series so much. I actually have the entire series. The others, Energon, Armada, Cybertron, and the Combiners series I've kept abreast of but didn't really watch. I just love the old cartoons. I'm surpirsed I recalled all the names I did.
OH YEAH! Omega Supreme
The Stunticon
Combaticons
Damn you! Now I'm thinking of more! Brain...melting...morphing...*erie transformer like sound*
Ahhh damn. I'm a TV.

The Internet was dial-up only BBS's. 2400 baud with text compression was the bomb. That sometimes you had to switch the modem to function as a rotary dial phone and needed a handset adapter.
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually setup my own 8-line BBS and had people calling me from all over America to find out how I, at that time (late 80's early 90's) set up an 8 line BBS using 1 PC with only 4 serial ports. This was pre-email days and I was just starting to incorporate e-mail from the internet (another amazing process for that time) onto my BBS. A combination of my ex-wife and I buying a house and the emergence of the World Wide Web killed our, and most other, BBS's.
BTW, I'd also like to say that at 48, I'm probably one of the older members of this thread, but I am enjoying it immensely. The memories!
Has anyone thought of maybe starting a Super Group of "mature folks"? The Elder Statesmen or something like that? We could have chapters on each server...
have ever played any of the Zork games or recall them even . . .
still have in your possession a Vic 20 or a Commodore 64 . . .
remember the show Space 1999 or ever owned some of the toys like Moonbase Alpha or the Eagle? . . .
remember getting your 12" G.I. Joe's "hair" wet and having it all fall out? for the Joe's with the fuzzy hair that is. . .

This is just from memory at the moment with no googling...
Optimus Prime
Jazz
Bumble Bee
Cliff Jumper
Iron Hide
Ratchet
Wheel Jack
Sun Streaker
Mirage
Brawn
Hound
Perceptor
Blaster
Ultra Magnus
Hoist
Prowl
Sideswipe
Trailbreaker
Huffer
Grimlock
Slag
Sludge
Swoop
Snarl
Thats really all I can recall from the origanal series. There might be more, like the Aerial bots and the City-bots, but its been so long that I think those were part of G2.
Decepticons:
Megatron
Star Scream
Soundwave
Rumble
Ravage
Ratbat
Laserbeak
Thundercracker
Shockwave
Skywarp
Ramjet
Insecticons:
Kickback
Bobmshell
Shrapnel
Venom
Constructicons:
Formed Devestator
Long Haul
Mixmaster
Hook
Scavenger
(one or two more. Can't think of the names)
Thats it. My brain is now sufficiently fried. I haven't had to think about Transformer names like that in a long time. Was fun. Can anyone add any without googling? I know there are a bunch from season 3 and on but this is all I could recall of the first season or two.

...you find you are able to wait patiently for an update like I7. It gets here when it gets here. In the mean time, Im still mainly having fun on the hero side and I have all this content left on the villain side I havent gotten to yet as Im only lvl 14 as a villain. There's still got to be 4 or 5 zones in CoV I havent ventured into yet.
