You know you're an old gamer when...
Remember praying you'd get the Bionic Woman action figure doll.
Remember going to the movies to see Jaws when it first came out.
Then seeing Star Wars when it first came out at the theatre.
Listening only to AM radio.
Being impressed with a boy because he owned the Pong game.
Your first crappy job was at Burger Chef.
When SG mates celebrate their birthday and moan about being 18 or 22 and you think to yourself...I could be their mom.

Whenever I start to feel old in this game I shall come back to this thread and revel in my fellow fogies. Lol this thread makes me feel young at 31 but the Nostalgia was great. And to the guy who named all the G1 Transformers, you rock. I actually went out and bought all three seasons on DVD... I'm such a dork. Anyways forgive me for skimming but some that might have been mentioned...
-Remember the Challenger Exploding.
-Wanted to be Wonder Woman when I grew up.
-Literally jumping up and down as you got a Commodore 64C
-Wanting Mathew Broderick's computer in War Games.
-Wishing aliens would come recruit you for your awesome arcade skills (The Last Starfighter)
-Thinking that it was perfectly reasonable for Kirk to get alien booty on a weekly basis (granted re-runs )
-On the same note thinking that big foam rock looked /really/ real and that poor ensign who's name you never caught.
-watching the animated Star Trek series.
And many many more.

Then what am I? I remember:
The Apollo 1 Capsule fire
Wanting a Flying Sub
Paying $125 for a 4-function calculator. And $25 6 months later for a Commodore Scientific Calculator to replace the 18" slide rule I used for functions the $125 calculator couldn't do. (I still have both the Commodore Calculator and the Sliderule. Although I realized recently I no longer remember how to do anything but multiply and divide on the slide rule.)
Being thrilled by the scientific accuracy in the space scenes of 2001.
Being completely hopeless at Pong.
Watching Kirk get his smoochies first run. In black-and-white.

Yes, cats can swim. But I'm still not going to try to take a bath with one.
