_Castle_ Can you at least tell us this?
Castle, you know now that you've posted in two threads with this title, it's going to appear in every AT forum on the board right?
Also, go look at Arc-Salvo's thread about snipe's in this forum. We're tossing some ideas about them in there.

Many of the powersets need a complete redesign - I hope the Devs are aware of it, and will acknowledge it should be adressed when time permits.
Thanks for the heads up _Castle_. It should keep the whiners under control for at least a week.
Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

Actually, you're right. I think it's also against board policy to 'call out' a dev in your post title. I think that means I've been bad by actually responding. I'll have to stop doing that.

Look what you did!! SEE?! THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!
Awesome, thanks for the public response, _Castle_! Now I don't have to write out what you said in your pm to me (in respone to me pointing out my Snipe idea thread), because you've given out that info (plus some details) here.
Anyhow, more thanks once again, for all your hard work!

Aw c'mon, it's not gimp when you've got a good team! Fire Breath + Fire Ball + Fire Sword Circle does BI equivalent to Thunderous Blast, and all 3 attacks fit in the aim+buildup time window.
And you can pull off thi combo at level 16 with both aim and buildup for preternaturally good AOE damage, although unless you have a Tank and a Controller Backing you up, you usually end up dead if you try it.
Anyhow _Castle_, if you're still reading, any opinions about the idea to give Blasters range in their primary? 20' attacks to 50' for example.
Howabout my idea to add one SO's worth of recharge to every single target ranged attack (or most of 'em anyway) to allow for easier chaining, given how Blasters can usually only get 3 non-situational single target attacks (not counting aoe fillers) to chain pretty much period?
I'm of the opinion that a range buff to the 20 footers + a recharge buff would solve many of our "we don't have range!" complaints, along with much of the "our ranged damage sucks because we don't have good ranged attack chains" issues.

Listen to Arc Salvo! <,<;
Wouldn't solve the secondary problems; but it'd be a huge leap forward for the primaries, and likely would make the secondaries much more livable.

Sigh mine was(is) too. And yet I have made countless other tcharaters gotten 3 heroes too 50 an a villain to 40 but that poor fire/fire has been sitting at 38 for ever, and I made her during the first day or so of CoH launch
Maybe once we can crossover i'll turn her into a villain so she can have revenge for lack of attention from her creator.

Are we finally going to see some Blaster fixes after I7?
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixes, yes. Complete redesigns of several powers and/or powersets, no. Unfortunately, what a lot of you are looking for is the later.
I'm (ever so slowly) going through the list you guys put up a while ago. I've referred a couple things to animation for bug fixes. Many things, I'm still scratching my head of how to fix in such a way that they are useful -- snipes are a good example of this. Simply increasing the base damage is dangerous, and we can't make it exempt from ED. So, I'm thinking of workarounds, which I will toss upstairs once fleshed out. Then, if it is approved, I'll be able to make the changes.
That process happens with each and every change (read: not a bug fix) I do.
EDIT: Adding a couple things.
I put in a fix for Endurance Drain that I think you guys will like. It is in I7, because it was a huge amount of data changes.
As for changing secondaries, when I was interviewing for this position over a year ago, this was the thing I mentioned I wanted to 'fix.' It's still something I want to do, but there are a couple technical and design philosophy problems to overcome. The design philosphy isn't easy to change, but it's hardly in the realm of impossibility. The tech side, though, is very much non-trivial. Since I've no control over programming schedules (for good reason, I might add) it is something I cannot do much of anything about.

then you know that /fire is [censored] garbage. It's the absolute worst pile of garbage to ever grace the game. No disrespect.... but how you guys can give so much attention to claws.... which is used by classes with mitagation options beyond anything a blaster can manage while leaving /fire alone is beyond me. You get right down to it and concern for melee AT's trumps blasters every time. In fact..... we've been getting back burnered behind EVERYTHING. Some sets might get by with "tweaks" but /fire won't. for that matter devices has been largely neutered.
Oh and by the way..... not to sound ungrateful.
We've been made to put up with your endurance adjustments for weeks now... and you got a fix coming in i7.... that's nice. would it have been too much to ask you guys to roll back those changes untill i7 instead of making us put up with this garbage for so long?
Always looking out for the players. That's what I love about you guys.
Oh and btw.... I don't believe for one second that the sideways NERF to energy drain was "an unintended consequence." I can live with the changes but once again this sounds like you guys "spinning" when most players would have accepted a much simpler explanation. Personally knocking a boss down to nil endurance with 2 powers was a bit much.
_Castle_, we do, and forever will, love you. thank you for the update.

oh ya, and just so everybody knows, i think that tanks need a lot more help than we do, they seem like crappy scrappers nowadays.
@TheBro

Pft.... they'll NEVER get tankers right. might as well give it up. Of all the AT's tankers have been tweaked the most. All they really need is an upward adjustment of the defense/resist numbers they got handed in i5. In fact they should just roll the damn things back, ED was enough of a gutting.
but they won't....

lmao. It's so true. Half the people who post on the WoW boards just quote the OP and say "l2p". I was talking about this a while back on Triumph: the WoW boards are so hostile and nonsensical. At least here, the soapboxes aren't made of soap.

But seriously, I don't see what you guys are having so much problems with in the Blaster Secondaries. My stinky AR/Elec blapper can solo Unyielding and I don't even have FullAuto yet. If you want to talk about a hodgepodge of melee/blasts that are truly underpowered, then you guys need to give a Dom a trying out. They even make frikkin Energy-Melee feel weak and uneffective. My Blapper is twice the dominator my Dominator is...bonus points for having more Health on top of it.

It depends on the secondary you select... The problem is that the RANGE between what is good and what is bad is incredibly huge. Some blaster secondaries are so good that they can be played AS a primary (how this is not game breaking I have no idea) instead of supporting the primary. The other problem is that certain secondary sets (fire for one) offers little to no synergy to ANY of the primary blaster sets. The fire secondary in and of itself isnt THAT bad. If it got a bit of a damage boost. And mabbe SOME kind of defense aura that was useful at an early level (THAT more than anything else is what I think the secondary sets need)...
Play any fire secondary for awhile and see how different it is. Try to even utilize that secondary and youll see how often you end munching on a dirt sammich

Hey Castle....Thanks for the post.
This part bothers me.
"design philosophy problems to overcome"
When managment buys their own hype there is an issue.
Want some reality for this?
Round up 50 12 year olds, let them have free copies of COH/COV and turn them loose. Listen to what they think is an issue, then fix it.
Thats round #1
My son played (played mind you) COH/COV with me for a while. He played a Blaster.
His frustration was simply that he couldn't understand why his attacks weren't as good as the enemies attacks in many cases and the attacks to him seemed identical.
His final moment of play came when he was face planted by even con minions he had already "killed" (I.E. The attack that killed him was initiated while the target was being killed/knocked back.)
His quote was "I thought Knockback interuppted attacks, this is dumb dad."
And he quit.
I will note however that he took an AR/ELC Blaster so he wasn't having any easy time right out of the gate.
Thanks for the feedback _Castle_.
