Wow! How many couples are in this game?
My girlfriend and I actually met playing CoH over 8 months ago. We were apart of the same supergroup and still are. I helped her achieve her first level 50 character by staying up with her until 5am in the morning (eastern time) for a week straight and we just grew to like one another. We talked for months on end and after a long wait we finally got to meet each other (we used to live 800 miles apart) and it was all love from there.
Funny thing is, we're not the only one to meet through our supergroup. Our SG/VG has five couples in which four of those actually met through the SG. My girlfriend and I are the latest addition to that number.
my wife and i play together alot.
my sorta plays.... hey is one of those Atlas people. oh well.

Bah, say it twenty more times and it won't help. They have to have the guts to approach that gamer-grrl first.
My 13-year-old and I play together, but thus far no one is man enought to join us. *mock mock mock*

My wife and I have been playing CoH since Beta (and CoV now), and her parents both play as well.
Yes, I play CoH/CoV with my in-laws. This is, at times, a bit disconcerting.....

Arie and I have been married for 10 years this past June. We play regularly together (when we are not working ). My father and my brother also play (much to my mother's dismay).
My wife and I play. We have a few characters each. We just decide on playing our high, mid or low characters. We both made female characters for our mid level characters. I just tell people she is my life partner.
I wanted to get our roomate to play also. She is our age and likes these types of games. However, her computer has some issue with COH and it won't work. So we all got Guild Wars. Unfortunately, my wife never got into that, so I split my play time between them on different games.
You know it's odd. I did have a girlfriend for a while that I played COH and WOW for a while. Honestly .. I didn't like it. I always thought it would be cool to have a SO that would game with me, but when it actually happened, I didn't like it at all. It was like .. the games are my personal thing .. my personal space .. and having her in there kind of took that away.
Bizzare thinking maybe but .. I'm *glad* I dont have a girl that games with me anymore.
I think my wife has an evil plan to destroy COH/COV and anyone who gets in her way, watch out Austin .
For the first couple of weeks she was an addit like me then she realized how much fun I was having and she just couldn't let that go by unnoticed. Now COH/COV is servered with a cold dish of sarcasm when played at my house. Good thing Hooters down the street has free wi-fi (i'll be burned at the steak if i'm found out)
I even have a second account now (not a pleasent topic) and she wont even consider playing as it's such a waste of time... The TV shows Charmed, Median, ER, etc... is apparently much more productive. The productivity apparently stacks as my attenance is HIGHLY recomended.
My boyfriend of two years and I play COH/COV together all the time. We have a set of characters on each that are designed to be played particularly with each other. In fact, I was the one that got him hooked on COH to begin with!
My fiance and I play this and many other games all the time. She's a hard-core gamer through and through, plus she makes a wicked-good cup of coffee. Who could ask for anything more?
Meet my characters: Marqaha's Managerie
Adversity/Animosity: Strength through Diversity. Respect and Fun.
I know two married couples that play. One couple is in my main's SG, the other couple is on a different server with their established SGs and only come over to Liberty on very rare occassions.
My wife and I palyed for a little while, but Life got in the way. She says she got bored. Of course, it didn't help that these sorts of game give her mild motion sickness (she can't play *any* FPS), we're working radically different shifts now, and (most recently) our 2nd computer died. Oy. I guess it wasn't meant to be.
Oh well.
In a few years our son (almost 3) will probably start playing. He loves watching me "play momma" (we made the super powered versions of ourselves, you see) and "get the bad guys".
My GF and I play together. She hated video games and comics until I had CoH a week then she wanted to play. Now a year + later we have a home network and we play together very often. It's great fun, plus being in the same room we don't have to chat type to each other. I'm sure our neighbors think we are crazy, "Watch out. Freaktank REZ!!! Don't aggro that 3rd group yet!"
I suppose I'll probably get in trouble for "outting" them, but they shouldn't make so much fun of me.
Reknown Virtuite Movie Makers Doc Trauma and Miss Abyss have been happily married for several years now and almost always play CoH together.
In a group we make up the Holy Trinity of
The Power Gamer - Miss Abyss
The Number Cruncher - Doc Trauma
The Artsy "Theme" Builder - Me
My gf (9 1/2 years now) has been playing CoH for over a year now. I played since CoH beta, so the reason it took a bit was that we moved together last summer and after watching me play for about a week, she created a char on my account and 1 day later insisted on her own account.
We still play daily, RP a lot and have lots of fun.
Poison Sabbath
Ravenbane and I have been a RL bf/gf for years, and more or less all of our characters are linked in some way, be they married, college or highschool sweethearts, hero/sidekick, , etc. That goes for heroes and villains.

There might even be a few red names who play CoV/CoH with thier significant others...my husband and I play all the time!

I think quite a few do, myself and my wife included.
I play CoH/CoV with My Love I Love, almost daily.

My wife and I have played since release... (though I did get into beta first, so I can hold that over her whenever she questions my judgement)
Honestly we both seem to play together, including some of our RL friends on the occation, almost exclusively. I've sorta given up on soloing since the devs hate me (well, maybe not me exclusively, apparently some other people were affected by ED and various other nerfs as well)
Anyway... She usually plays some kind of tiny but insanely tough chick (melee type) while I stand in the back and try do deal with the insane things she does quickly enough to keep us alive... Fun for the whole family...
My husband and I play together a lot. He got CoH when it first came out and tried to get me interested while I protested that it "wasn't my type of game". Then I got hooked into watching him play. Then I played with the character creator when he wasn't playing (we only had 1 computer at the time). Then I made a character, "just to try it out". Then we started "arguing" over whose turn it was to play. Then we started "arguing" when 1 of us got to far ahead of the other. Then we bought me my own computer to replace my dead one and my own copy of the game.
We made a lot of characters that would duo well, but rarely made linked stories. He did at one point make a character to go with Navy Wife (yes, based on me ) but he couldn't get into it and ended up deleting him. We now have too many characters to count across 3 servers.
Then I got into CoV beta before he did, and boy did that cause some tension! But luckily he got into beta before we filed for divorce . If we didn't game together, we'd hardly get to spend any time together.
We have also gotten so many of our real life friends into CoH/CoV that we can have 2 almost-full teams of people we actually know. And that includes 2 more married couples.
My wife and I went to Gen Con for our Honeymoon in 1988 and game together all the time.
I play with my partner all the time.
It holds the mouse
Hubby & I also play together. He currently has a stalker at around 25, while my brute is at 17. On the hero side, we each have a lvl 50 and all of his are higher than mine (at least on one server <evil grin>.
If you take time to help others, you help yourself grow.

Dude that's just wrong on so many levels.....
My wife (Radical Girl) and I both play, and often team up together. Not all of our characters have connecting backstories, but a couple here and there do, just for light RP fun.
At the same time, she's got friends that she teams with, and I have some friends that I team with, and we have some mutual friends we both team with. We know of two other married couples in the game, and went on a "Double Date" teamup evening once, the four of us chatting on Teamspeak as the four of us scythed through missions. Great fun!
Most often online as: Onmyouji (Triumph, Defender), King Kaizoku (Virtue, Mastermind), Sister Samedi (Freedom, Scrapper), G1 Shrike (Pinnacle, Defender), Kinetic Rex (Virtue, Blaster), El Santo de Aguilas (Virtue, Peacebringer), Hecate (Exalted, Controller), The Mask of Legend (Exalted, Scrapper), and Star-Ranger Green (Exalted, Corruptor)

Same situation, same view.
My wife and I have forged several storylines together, pairing up several of our characters. Scrapper/Scrapper, Blaster/Defender, Defender/Defender, Stalker/Brute, and Corrupter/Dominator, off the top of my head. What's great is I never have to ask her to play. She's usually already in-game, asking me to join her.
The only problem I have is that she she always waits for me to give commands, when we're paired as a Brute and Stalker. =P It's like I've gone from Stalker to Mastermind. "Woman! You're a brute! I save your butt from the big guys and you take aggro off of my squishy rear and build fury!"
gWrath and Golden_Ace,
My wife was the same way. Played games like Sims, but in no way interested in MMOs or "action" games like CoH.
Then I used the technique suggested here last year to get them to just "make a hero", "try the different costumes". Then after that, she of course had to see what her hero looked like "in the wild". Shortly after that, she was hooked.
Not wanting to sound like its a stereotype, but most women do love to play "dress up" with CoH's impressive costuming app. After that, the hook is set .
Unfortuately for me, that turned my house from an all-Mac domain (with my CoH computer being the one Windows box I used for website testing) into a two Windows house so I (Trick Dacy) can team with my wife (Dacy's Trick).
We both have several alts scattered throughout the servers, and play just about every night.
(Liberty) Trick Dacy - Forge Steel - Hypother Mia
(Freedom) Folgus Sprit
(Infinity) Marcus Solomon
(Protector) Thylacine
(Justice) Ashkicker - Revile
