And force them to read a comic, gamer grrls are like sponges just ready to absorb other nerdery.

This is true. I didn't read a single comic before I met my boyfriend; now I have quite a few favorites, although I'm pretty picky (Vertigo FTW!). I even get to be the first one to read the new "Fables" each month.

Still can't take Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, or Star Wars though (aside from the original and Empire Strikes Back, of course). And I will watch any number of Warhammer/Warmachine games but will never get into those. I am only a certain amount of spongy.

My fiancee is the one you guys all have to thank (or curse, your choice) for having me around. I swore up and down I would never get into one of these "pay to play" games until he convinced me to sit down and make a hero.

Mistake: I got hooked. The rest is history. In fact I got hooked to the point that I took over the communal account and he started over with a new one. The name on this account is still his

We played together until our RL friends wandered off and tried WoW. I had Ion Force to tie me to this game, he was more of a peripheral member and didn't feel as tied to it. For the last month, he has come back and we're back to gaming together with Villians. Forgot how much fun it was to play together like this.

My Girlfriend and I have been playing together since she started in late may of this year. She now has characters at a higher level than I do.

Kryptowife wants to play and likes to watch, but gets motion sick from video games. She lives vicariously through myself and our sons. For reference, We've been together 21 years, the fellow hero/villains amongst you are controlled by our 19 and 15 year olds. She does, hoever, MUSH and Tabletop alongside us as one of the group, including in our 21-year-old D&D and Superhero Tabletop games.

I am lucky enough to have a wife that plays CoH with me... I've been slowly corrupting her over the years with various nerdery... Star Wars, she loves D&D now and even played some Call of Cthulhu, etc. She loves action adventure sci-fi fantasy horror etc. as much as I do, if not more.

In fact, she even got a character to 50! I haven't even accomplished that yet!

Seriously... if you are a gamer like the rest of us (and if you're even reading this, count yourself in) try your best to meet a significant other who's also into it. It's a wonderful thing. If you're already involved, try to get him or her interested in as nice a way as possible, find ways to make what you do look as appealing as possible, without shoving down their throats You might be pleasantly surprised.

(edit) in response to the original poster, my wife and I play together most of the time, we have a controller duo on Guardian, both (as of this posting) level 26. We share similar costumes, but different powersets, origins, and we chose un-related names. Let me just tell you, duo controllers ROCK. Her controller is Illusion/Kinetics and mine is Ice/Empathy. Makes a great combo.

I've got a gaming partner, lo it rocketh.

He tends to be much the powergamer, and so he usually outlevels me quickly. This put a heavy crimp in our gaming together in previous games. But with malefactoring/lackeying, it won't be a problem here *glee*

I have, however, pretty much given up on playing girl 'toons. They seem to draw idiots like stray cats to gravy. Even sane, normal, usually intelligent people start acting stupidly around you. It might be different here - the playerbase seems a lot more polite - but I'm not risking it for a while. I'll play my big, mean, beefy Huge instead. *flex*

More fun anyway. SMASH!
