Infiltrator, ShadowBlade, or NightShade?
ShadowBlade. Left Axe FTW !!!
From Memory i beleive our AT REP was a ShadowBlade as well.
Infiltrator.
I leveled him from 1 - 47 completely in RvR (when they implemented the complete set of battlegrounds and XP in RvR). That was definitely a fun experience.
Even though I left DAoC for this 'non-PvP' game, I'm definitely going to play a Stalker, for at least a little while. Y'know, fer ol' times' sake.
I'm not sure if any powerset has claims of being better, but there are tons of cries fer nerfs on Assasin's Strike. (The 'backstab'-type attack, if you are not aware.)

I assumed that Assassin's Strike was closer to Perforate Artery .
But, without buffbots, will Stalkers ever become what the unholy trio became to DAoC?
I'd say infiltrator. We're all about the front end damage. It was nice last night 2shotting an Oj con boss. Even with 3 DOs and build up and a damage insp. I couldn't one shot him. I was lvl 12 btw.
I played a shadowblade on percival :P level 50 pre TOA...I plan on playing a stalker in cov as well.
Most definately a CritBlade. Played one on Gawaine, and absolutely love it ... well 'till it got nerfed into oblivion and I took my leave of DAOC. I have great hopes that this will be the game that DAOC could have been.
B.
Shadowblades.
Cause they will be so good they need the hardest nerf (LA oh and the str based slash spec didn't help em either )
Welcome to the boards.
Muhahaha.
hehe thanks .
Long time DAoC PvPer so these stalkers are my current target to play and master.
Heh, Stealth Minstrel was my cup of tea. Bors Albion was a hard PvP school (% .
Not sure what I like the look of in the Stalker sets, I guess I will have to give one a go.

Two Hand Crit Shadowblade build followed by a Shadowzerker build after that got nerfed.
-looks around, coughs nervously, looks around again-
Bow spec'd Ranger, pre TOA. -cries- Ye foolish assassin's ne'er knew wha' a true nerfin was, I be tellin ye!
And, they at least told you when they nerfed you!! Most archer nerfs were unannounced...several were even denied for awhile.
Played a dark spec RM since the game came out myself. Very suprising how it went from being derided to being considered one of the better caster sets ... without the spell line ever really changing.
On the other hand, a very good friend of mine had a five spec shadowblade that he started back when they were going to get illusion spells. The memory of the nerfage still makes him cry.

Ooh, I forgot about the "Illusion" spells. That I felt for the shadowblades over. I also always felt sorry for the Hunters, but at least they eventually got some loving. Then I hated them!! Or at least going up against them hehe. Insta-summon pets that can't be outran really blew.
I normally played a pac healer (when in danger when in doubt, mez it and run in circles, scream and shout) But I used to enjoy taking stealthers to the BGs. Stalkers dont remind me of any of the three specificly- though I do at times catch myself lining up AS as if it was a positional
Remember the days of 2handed PAing a caster and staying sthed.
Ahhh the memories.
edit to add rangers just got the sweetest bow available to hibby land in DF so lies to your nerfs. but yeah i felt that the rangers were hurting, but this archer debat would best be talked of else where.

Bow spec'd Hunter, pre TOA...
Why, when I was a youngster I had to respec uphill on the way to the frontiers. ... both ways!
Heh, oh I was just posting my stealther type. I haven't played DAoC in about 2 years though, so I couldn't say what it's like now. I stopped right as ToA was coming out.
Trust me though, taking a Ranger to 50 and refusing to bot wasn't fun.
Bit OT, but I played a wizard, fire spec, but sheesh, did I hate the buffing that the rest of the group kept asking for.
However I'm sure that buff got me into groups tho O.o
It was really painful being the lowest level by quite a margin and doing naff all damage to the target, then getting told to save my mana for the buff *cries*
On Tristan I started off with my Hunter, and really earned the name:
Spreadeagle
I enjoyed the heck out of being a Midgard hunter the first few months of the game. Soon hunters just became fodder for other classes to farm ream points off of, heh...
Nightshade since before 2.2 spec and the instant DD spell. And I was violently opposed to buffbots, and did my best to build myself so that I could take out people with buffs. Tons of DoTs and that DoT-crit RA (Wild Arcana?) were the key- lay it on them, then kite. Viper if you have it.
I'd say a Stalker most closely resembles a 2-hander Shadowblade. It's all about that massive opening shot, the damage after that takes a significant drop.

Ditto.
I was a Nightshade on Pellinor. Hit 50 before TOA, but never could get the time or the energy to get any MLs. Luckily I got a COH Beta invite and really never looked back at DAOC.

48 2h critblade shadowblade, Pelinor, Craal Grimstalker, quit daoc after the nerf. But yah I remember the good ole days of catching an orange caster sittin. Roll right over the top of em with PA and keep going. I always kinda wondered what they were thinking just prior to being put face down. Or that brief instance they caught my faded outline approaching for a frontal PA.
I also remember the days of finding a sittin warrior, nail PA with poison only to have him stand up and commence an [censored] wuppin on me
Def. gonna give stalker a shot... see if the feel is close
So, did anyone play any of the above in DAoC?
Which one do you feel that a Stalker most closely represents?
Has any one powerset been declared as better than any other, and have people asked for it to be nerfed yet?
Thanks for answering these burning questions!
