Aha! I think you're seeing a manifestation of the knid bug. My 15 equifax (orthogonal/wavelet) had been on a team with a Widdershins (the inverted form of a turnbody) The thing is, I had been on teams with Widdershins before, but this time, the Whid grafted me with a bulwark protrusion capsule, not the standard. This time, we got a dentrid. Did something like that happen?

"Board wisdom" states that you have to have a LPS of the correct abule type to match your current squalor level (in your case the abule type would be fulgrid, no, no thanks are necessary.) The reason for this is that people think the LPS is needed to protect against the fragmentary damage that the Granalian temple guards of the 7th deceit level.
Except, had you actually read the saga of briefing from S'aran T'aal the Questmistress, instead of just blundering on like an XP lust crazed PL'er, you would have known that the <gasp> scum seed pods dropped by <wait for it> GRAVID MULTORN RAVAGERS provide an inherent vibratory resistance, which DOUBLES AGAINST FRAGMENTARY DAMAGE.
Besides, people only want the Post-Albunian helmets 'cause they like to show off the bangle-horns to the newbs. You'll get a much better protection value from either a a) Sor'talian skull cap or b)Trellian tiara based off your color scheme. If you are a cyanotic, well, sorry that the tiara is kinda lame looking, but that's what you get for going for the color scheme with the maximum refractory value.

I was on a team with one, level 49 or so. The things he did put my level 55 Sulphuric Cloud/Solar Meld Graver (With Shadow Dabbling no less!) to shame! Honestly, I've never seen anything like it, that guy tore apart Rashids my level and above without even dropping below 3/4 health! I can only do that with some serious Soma backup, and this guy, six levels under me, does it EFFORTLESSLY! There is no excuse for that!
Either nerf Spotters, or give Gravers some kind of boost. I hear that Earth Meld is kinda gimped, which might explain why we don't see too many of those around the Orrant Orchards.
On topic though, you should see the later missions with the Mancusans. If their info doesn't tell you everything, I'll let the map open your eyes.

So, I was part of a pickup team the other night, fighting Frozen Chrysalis in a door mish over in Devon Downs. Mainly the Wingwalker minions, with a few of those nasty Umbrial lieutenants, but no sign of the Crushed Tarsis bosses.
I was playing my level 12 Spotter, with both Sever and Mandated Insignia fully slotted for Transience, and a full tray of Cognizance and Protrusion insps.
We also had a level 11 Cracker (Invention/Mandibles), a level 13 Soma (Density/Polarity), and another Spotter, but level 11 Adhesion/Tension. Nice rounded team, right?
We clear out a room on the third balcony, go up the last ladder, and there's a Mancusan Dentrid, bristling with shiv-shooters, and we're like Huh? The Soma went down after one swipe. I laid down Submersion to buy us some time, but the Cracker and the other Spotter hardly had time to get in one hit before they got wiped too. I headed for the ladder, but face-planted before I took two steps.
So, is this normal? Do you usually see Mancusans on this mission? Is there some connection between the Frozen Chrysalis and these guys? Or was it just some random event?

Actually this is a bug. Mancusans are only supposed to spawn in Telenphier Conax missions. It will be resolved in the next server fission.

Awww, man, they're nerfing the Mancusans?! I've been farming those guys for the Advanced Axon Nodes for my Neuromancy crafter. There's no other place to get those unless you go all the way out to the Spineshadow Reach, and that place is just fraggin' nuts, even with the shortcut through the Den. How's my Neuro going to keep his squad buffed if he can't make Bypass Boosters?

You don't want them. They have a very short duration and have a tendancy to cause you to misfire painfully.
On Justice
Protrusion Inspirations are double-rare drops. Although if you see Meik Interra (just beyond the Saffron Curtain in the Verdanx Sector) she will give you a temporary Mantle of Succor and send you on a short instanced mission inside Kyoo's (?) Soul.
The Mantle gives you a huge buff versus the Soul Mites, and they drop Protu Insps like crazy. Of course, you'll use half of them before you get to Kyoo's own Chrysalis. But if you're smart (and bring a good Runner, or in a pinch a Blambost will do), you should end up with 3 or 4 in your inventory.
I'm glad to hear that the bug will be fixed. I saw a team of Blombosts exploiting the hell out of it in Ghandu.

I use them all the time (and I have a secret source I'm not sharing :P) and I never misfire. You just have to wait until your mana bar is in the pink and then they work fine. If you hold out to purple, you get double duration and +8.6% to your Fer. attribute (MkH Planner v2.7)

CuppaJo, you rock! The Mancusan bug caused our Tri-Team wipe during the Bugblatter Taskforce. Resolving this will help out us Soma players a LOT!
Of course, fixing this completely nerfs Ice Tankers who don't hex-class into Polarity (at least to get Magnaline), but who cares about them? 
(Seriously though, awesome thread, and awesome reply by Cuppa. It's my new sig file.)
I think you meant spanners. Ice is a tertiary set for tankers, and only if they cross over from the PvP servers. Unless you're using tank-hack mod off of Ninezener's World? If so, I wouldn't brag. It could get you banned.
When the LSD wears off, then maybe this WON'T make sense
