I repeat my previous post, and add this addendum: you crazy sumbitches (I can just tell they're going to find some way to use that in this excersise in madness...).

[/ QUOTE ]

Sshh, man! Do you want to get NDA'd? The Sumbiches are an integral part of the new Warpath coming in Issue 57, The Glory of Clawshrimp! That's all I am allowed to say...

Ah, the Clawshrimp Initiative. I'm really looking forward to the Mollusk Tentacle Brute class they are adding with that. Those psuedopods are going to rock!

Ok, I know this thread is supposed to be about the Mancusan bug, but since others have felt free to go off on wild tangents I'll take this opportunity to vent about my pet peeve.

Notice how the OP says "Nice rounded team?" Oh, well of *course* it's a nice team, it has a */Polarity Soma!

Soma is my favorite camp, and I have like 4 different toons, but you will *never* see me take the Polarity secondary Matrix. So many players out there come from other games where a Polarity type character is an absolute requirement. I can't tell you how many "r u p01?" /tells I've gotten. It makes me sick! Everyone thinks that Clade Reconstruction is the only way to protect the team... I've tried to tell them that it's just a small part of what Somas do, but no one wants to hear it! Hell, 3 whole Matrices (Plasmophage, Golom, and Truth) don't even have access to Autosomal Clustering!

Seriously, the other sets can do a much better job of Clade Drift mitigation if anyone would give them a chance. Why reconstruct when you get prevent the Drift in the first place?

Well, I just wanted to get that off my chest. If anyone wants to team, my main is a Coherence/Plasmophage Soma on the Gurdnik server. What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment!

You took COHERENCE??? My god man! You don't even get a good power until phase level 18 with that! I mean, sure, Metaphase Splines is nice, but it doesn't provide ANY protection against the null field zero point (NFZP) generators that are so prevelant in the early levels.

Me? I took Dissonance / Golom. I really like the early Repusion Amplifier / Dopolganger combo you get at level 10... it did require that I delay taking stochastic amplifier until level 12, but most teams don't want me to use that power anyway... something about a graphics bug when used on a team with more than 2 Spotters... (don't EVEN get me started on their problems...)

This really makes me rethink my racheting Plenum of Rectitude, especially given how expensive the Heliotrope Veracity assets are. I may just option Spice Miner the next time I metamorphose.

Posted

Whoa, boy! Don't give up on PoR just yet. Miner's might look attractive now, but wait a few level and the HV costs will normalize more in tolerance with KYN. Once you see how well PoR meshes with the Gloom, Parity, Datchet, and Radiowave sets, you won't be so quick to metamorphose.

I have played a Coh/Pol Soma since I started playing the game. You have to understand I am not a big gamer and I just came from that other game (you know the other big one) where I was playing a Hun Japlek (level B-28), which is about the same as a Polarity Soma, and I was kinda used to him. So I decided to make a Polarity. But I just made the Studunda Trial and changed my powers from the secondary matrix to remove Clade Reconstruction. People think it's absolutely necessary for the Polarity set but really it isn't. And now I can see if a team really is worth it. If they don't complain too much, they truly know the role of a Soma.

See, the thing about the Mancusan (and for the most part, the entire Synergistic Spectrum changes planned in Modification 15) is that there are those of us who have been playing their Beetleknockers as if they were Kravitzes all along. If the DEVs had wanted us not to do so, they would have prevented it in Modification 14, wouldn't they?

A quick poll of Beetleknockers (sample size 30) shows that there are three main ways of playing them:

15 play Beetleknockers using the Wingspan approach
10 play them as Kravitzes
5 use the WeldonBangers to give themselves Inequity.

So, the "supposed nerfs" will remove some of the abilities of the Beetleknockers, however, it should move them more towards the DEVs' original vision prior to their severe mistake in including the unenhancable portion of Alacrity in Modification 5.

I just wish we could get a word from the Devs as to when the Skeleton Customization will be available. We know they wanted to include it at launch, but lately we've been hearing MOD12 of Fission 4, or MOD 1 of Fission5!

My concept requires an asymmetrical limb restructuring with an elongated reticulum. It's immersion-breaking to leap into combat and only swing one Kartolance while standing on "feet".

So c'mon Devs, when are we getting SC??

((Me too))

Here we go again... someone had to bring up the dang Bettleknocker crap again... Look, would you guys mind to terriblly sticking to your own thread?

And while we're on it... what made you think you should be playing like a Kravitz in the the first place? Umbral Synergy? Sychronometer? You DO realize those powers are only %75 effective for this Matrix class right? RIGHT???

If I have to read one more "I'm a Kravitz with more Umbral Distortion!" from some Kravitz wannabe Bettleknocker...

I for one will be enraged if they put in SC before they address the fact that there is no discernable differnance between the up-lepton Soma and the meson-quark Soma's. I mean come on ... how hard is it to come up with a new proseon-veta set that will let you tell at a glance who is upspinnning a boson and who is right adjusting a megasoma.

Bad news: I just read the new patch scroll, and it is official that the Mancusans have been fixed.

On a higher note, my Quellscec (Procrastination/Ridicule) just hit Squadrant Elchiiz, and levelled to 99!! I can now mine for Spice Fish in the Cavern of Cinnance atop Mt. Nuerfe. They give an awesome boost to my Hyperventilation Eighth Matrix, because Spice Fish were also changed in the latest patch! Hurry to the Grumroll teleporter so you can get some before the Jidichlory Men spawn and burn them all!

((We should retitle this thread "City of ????" ))

They put Jidichlory Men on Mt. Nuerfe??? I Am SOOO going to quit if they burn all the Spice Fish before I collect enough to upgrade my seventh matrix level powers...

On a happier note, I did finally get the Crystalline Allignment Paradigm for my Soma... should make those Dissonance powers a heck of a lot more effective... Umbral Splinter Zone here I come!!!

I presume you mean Spatialy Aware Lower Optomoligists ...
Honestly, all you guys see is a Delta-37 "Sploot" as you put it rip through the Forest of Clave and Clay and you get jealous.

Let me ask you something. Ever wonder why you see so few of these "overpowered" Sploots in the forest?

Well I gotta tell you, if you spent 1 measly hour as a Delta-PI "Sploot" you would NEVER, NEVER suggest they are overpowered. You have to go through 15 side managers for every delta, and that is 15 gruling, grinding managers at that. None of those cheesy pop-over managers. Compared to just rolling a Navagation/Isolator Soma, Sploots are a nightmare to gain deltas.

So, I was part of a pickup team the other night, fighting Frozen Chrysalis in a door mish over in Devon Downs. Mainly the Wingwalker minions, with a few of those nasty Umbrial lieutenants, but no sign of the Crushed Tarsis bosses.

I was playing my level 12 Spotter, with both Sever and Mandated Insignia fully slotted for Transience, and a full tray of Cognizance and Protrusion insps.

We also had a level 11 Cracker (Invention/Mandibles), a level 13 Soma (Density/Polarity), and another Spotter, but level 11 Adhesion/Tension. Nice rounded team, right?

We clear out a room on the third balcony, go up the last ladder, and there's a Mancusan Dentrid, bristling with shiv-shooters, and we're like Huh? The Soma went down after one swipe. I laid down Submersion to buy us some time, but the Cracker and the other Spotter hardly had time to get in one hit before they got wiped too. I headed for the ladder, but face-planted before I took two steps.

So, is this normal? Do you usually see Mancusans on this mission? Is there some connection between the Frozen Chrysalis and these guys? Or was it just some random event?

Just curious.

Your first mistake was having a Soma on the team, they're useless, you should have gone with a Deriver to cover the net gaps.
