  1. Since the last patch that booted me out of a good afternoon of gaming, I'm still having problems. I can log in, but I'm lucky if I can complete a mission before getting disconnected. This is happening in the Praetorian zone specifically (Imperial City). I can't stay in the game for any meaningful amount of time. What's the deal?
  2. Heheh, it figures. I just resubscribed, on a whim, 2 days before I13 came out. Oh well, I'm still having fun...
  3. This guide brought a tear of joy to my eyes. My DB/Elec Brute just hit level 40, and I thought I wanted to shoot lightning when I got to 41. Your argument for The Fighting Power Pool is very convincing, though.
  4. Welcome Blue Steel! Grats on becoming a Red Name (I hope it's a promotion...=p)! Is it true that Chuck Norris wears Blue Steel pajamas? I read it on the forums, so figure that it must be true...

Blood of the Black Stream then sure, those are probably pipe dreams

We might actually get a BotBS EAT someday. At leasts there's invention salavage for them, so all hope is not lost.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I sincerely hope so. I've been looking forward to that AT ever since I first heard about it.

Seems a lot of people are worried about 50's not having any Arcs to do. Thus missing out on one of the four ways to get IO's.

So, why not just add in a level 50 Arc that can be repeated as many times as you like. Maybe a few of them, the shadow shard would be a good place for that.

It'd give 50's more content. And a way to get Story Arc IO's

    Just a thought

    [/ QUOTE ].

More high level content is always a good thing. If we can't get flashback (or a way to unlock old arcs), I would love to see extra contacts and arcs added. It would give us something to do as well as a chance at the stroy arc recipes.

I don't think that this is a DOOOOM issue, really, but it would nice for it to be fair for everyone.

The story arch inventions just won't work for us that have high level characters. I really like the sound rest of the system, but high levels--the ones looking for something to do and who would appreciate collecting these--are being left out.
Do we all have to start over from scratch for a chance to get full sets?

    "Moral Combat"

    [ QUOTE ]
We'll always be dealing with these hysterical knee-jerk types, whether it's axe-wielding prohibitionists, the Hayes Code, the Comics Code, Rev. Wildmon going after Mighty Mouse, Tipper Gore's lyrics crusade...but then, my years of playing D&D have surely turned me into some sort of debbil-worshipping baby eater, according to Jack Chick, so what do I know?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is soooo true. I hope that one of these days we can stop worrying about these self-righteous vocal minorities who react against stereotypes and take action without gathering all of the facts. My children grew up around their old man playing video games, and, as teens, they play as well. As far as I know, they haven't killed anyone, they do well in school, and they have healthy social lives. The "video games are evil" crowd are no better than the examples that TheMaskedShrike gave above.

    _Castle_'s short explanation Here .

    Good enough. Makes sense. Thanks.

    Why?

    WHY?

  11. You've done a great job here. Dang, it seems like you just got here. Good luck on your next assignment, have fun and make lots of dough!
  12. Thanks for the link and quote. It does clear things up a bit.

    A fond farewell

So long and good luck! I really wish it wasn't true.
  14. Alright, I must have missed something. Is there any stated reason why so many visible people involved in the game are jumping ship? Is there some kind of culling happening among the staff? Some kind of general unhappiness with the working conditions at Cryptic/NCsoft?
From my experience in the work force, an exodus of talent like this usually is an omen of unrest or financial difficulty. Of course, I know very little about game software development, and I suppose this could be normal.
I was really surprised to hear that Recluse left, and have been very curious as to the reason. Seems strange to me.
And now several others are leaving. Anyone have an idea why this is happening?
  15. Oh well, all the best ones have been taken. Here's the one I made with little or no creative exertion.

    Twas...

    Awesome! I busted out laughing!
  17. I don't really "get it" either. I don't feel like I'm missing anything in this game by not having crafting. The only helpful thing you would be able to craft is different types of enhancements, and that doesn't sound real exciting to me. It's more fun finishing a story arch for the enhancemnt reward.
They would have to make the system unique and fun for it to work well. Different crafting skills based on different origins and ATs, or something along those lines. And don't require spawn camping to get the ingredients.
  18. ((I don't know why, but I just love the fact that this thread is still going!))

there is an epidemic of altidis in this game.. moreso then in I've seen in other games So it wouldnt surprise me if there is fewer 50s then you think.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because the uniqueness of the Character creation is the #1 feature of the game. It feeds the creative drive in many of us. I don't play alts because I get "bored" with my higher characters. I play them because I get an idea for a character or storyline or I read something on the forums that makes me want to try a certain AT or powerset.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
One thing to keep in mind about the number of 50s is many people, like me have one and then about 8 alts on each server. So yes I have a 50 but I have a ton of non-50s that make 8% actually seem likely to me. Even on my home server I only have one post 40 and that's my 50. Everyone else is all over level wise. I come up with a story for a hero and I make him. I don't always play him far but I do have like 4 or 5 servers filled with sub level 10 guys.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ditto here. I have plenty of alts along with my main, and the one I play depends on my mood. We're not all power gamers.
  21. You've done a great job, Gil! All your hard work is appreciated.

Good luck in all your future endeavors!
  22. I really don't think this will change.

And most people are more than happy to invite you to their team just for the duration of the Monster fight. I've honestly never had a problem with this.

  23. Lovin' this thread. Great visual of a troll in an Elvis costume! Keep up the good work Fire_Wa11
  24. I just don't think of cowboys and superheores in the same vein. They're two different genres to me. But that is just my point of view, others may see it differently...and that's ok.

I guess City of Cowboys wouldn't be any worse than City of Elves/Robin Hoods.

Watch it once and demand your money back. It's a bad film.

Oooohhhh how you will be flaaaaameeeed.

I'd rather see something more classic comic based, but that's just me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Shadow knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men...

The Shadow is the ultimate Pistol/Dark scrapper (or Stalker, perhaps...? Mwahahahaha....)

He, above all else, is most definitely classic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Wow, going waaayyyy back...

Good point, though. What was that guy in purple.... "The Phantom"? He had a pistol too.

    Did Green Hornet pack heat?

And Roland of Gilead is very cool, if much more recent.

Putting it in non-anime point of view makes me a bit more intrigued by the idea.
