i made it last year and got to meet you, but wah! i can't make it this year! Hubby is in Iraq and there is nothing in this world that can entice me to attend a gaming con with three young kids in tow and no other adult help!!

I've been signed up since almost the first day of registration.

Can't wait to see you, States.

can't make Origins but I'll be there at GenCon again this coming year. Wonder if they will demo the CoH pnp there. If so do they need demo GMs? The other question is whom to contact you guys or them.

Probably a bit far off to think about that but would like to help if you guys need it.

Yow! Statesman is coming to Columbus! Glad I live here. 8) Now I guess I'll have to go get that DVD edition so I can have the Heroclix for States to sign...

GAH!

Origins has been a small tradition of mine, living in Columbus, but this year, I didn't know if I could afford to go... now... States... GAH... to be able to meet you... you make it so difficult to resist now.

Perhaps your reply should not have included the original title?

Go to the Eden Studios website and look in the CoH forum there for info about demoing and playtesting the game.

I'm going to be demoing at Origins as well.

Damn. All full up.

Ohhhhh well. *hangs head in sorrow*

I would go, but hardcore nerds scare me. I can't even walk through the local comics store anymore. Thank God for mail order.

The Ohio convention would be a longshot for me, living here in TN...; my best bet is DragonCon 2005 in Atlanta, GA during September(which I already plan on going to in order to see musical artists Tom Smith and The Great Luke Ski)...; any idea if you'll be heading there, States?

I sorta met you (Statesman) at last year's GenCon and will be at Gencon again (Indy) this year. Looks like there will be CoH RPG games; they're listed in the events catalog. As usual, Gencon registration is a breeze.

I can't make it to Origins, but will send the player of Ascendant in my stead. Be gentle with him.

I wonder what type of UniSystem the CoH rpg will have?

Will it be closer to Witchcraft or Buffy?

Should be quite curious as to what rule system you have used with this PvP RPG.

I still think HERO 5th edition is the way to go though... 10 years of Champions revisions, updates and fine tuning makes for the BEST PnP system out there.

Besides there is NOTHING like rolling 20D6 when you are about to splat a hero with a uber power Energy Blast!

I believe that the CoH RPG will use Eden's Unisystem mechanics, as also seen in All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Witchcraft/Armageddon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel.

There's an ape RPG in there as well, I'm sure of it.

Quick hijack, brought to mind by seeing Ascendant's post:

Was at the Bricks hospital the other day, and overheard an NPC on the phone saying "Ascendant who? I'm afraid you have the wrong number." Don't know if that's new or not, but there you go

</hijack>

The PnP session with Statesman was already sold out when I tried to register for it last week, but I'll point out that there are a whole slew of CoH RPG sessions *not* run by States for anyone that wants to give it a try. (Events 6950-6989, I think)

Quick edit: The LAN /w Statesman sessions are Events 410 and 414, and take place at 2pm Fri and 2pm Sat, respectively.

Like last year, I'll be attending the FANTASTIC Origins convention in Columbus, Ohio (June 30th - July3rd). It's a convention devoted to "hobby games" - roleplaying, collectible card, board and miniatures games.

Unlike last year, the good folks at GAMA (the people who run Origins) have asked me to be a special guest. What does that mean? Well, it means that I'll personally be running RPG events - specifically an adventure for the forthcoming City of Heroes RPG by Eden Studios. I'll post more details about this as soon as I know details.

So, if you're interested in gaming with Statesman, take a look at the Origins site and come to the convention!
