Kind of a sad question to ask, but: How do the sign ups actually work?

My dad ordered the 2 LAN events first (of course, after registering for the store). Then afterwards he bought the 4-day badges for the two of us.

How do they connect the events to you? Do they send you something? (and concerned)...

[/ QUOTE ]

All the purchases are tied to your account at the GAMA store. When you arrive at the con, head to the pre-reg desk and tell them your name. They'll have a packet for you with everything you purchased. At least I hope that's how it works, since I bought things across 3 different sessions in the store, but the text they pop up as you're ordering indicates it's something like I described.

PERC Supporter
La Pucelle (BS/SR)
Miseria Bella (Sonic/Dark)

Coldsmoke (Ice/Dark)
Saber Maid (BS/Regen)
and others...

Ah. So the event registration stuff is essentially buying tickets?

Hoody-hoo! Just got my final order confirmation from GAMA (only took a month for processing) but I'm in. I'll be Pla...er, Gaming with a Creator.

And I even got in with Monte Cook's game as well. (Woot!) I think the gaming gods finally took pity on me for all the hel my finals put me through...

See you at the Gaming Table, Statesman.

I've played since Beta and I don't have one single lvl 50 toon. Is it because I'm deeply philosophical and believe life is a journey, or am I easily distracted by shiny baubles?
You decide.

Should be quite curious as to what rule system you have used with this PvP RPG.

I still think HERO 5th edition is the way to go though... 10 years of Champions revisions, updates and fine tuning makes for the BEST PnP system out there.

Besides there is NOTHING like rolling 20D6 when you are about to splat a hero with a uber power Energy Blast!

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe that the CoH RPG will use Eden's Unisystem mechanics, as also seen in All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Witchcraft/Armageddon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel.

There's an ape RPG in there as well, I'm sure of it.

[/ QUOTE ]

What he said.

The Unisystem is pretty flexible, but it sadly you onl;y roll a single d10 to resolve anything istead of fistfulls of dice.

The Absolute best thing about the unisystem is it actually has rules to cover groin shots, steaking through the heart, and decapitation. The rules are quite easy to learn but detailed enough to allow some pretty complicated interaction. A very solid game engine, COH RPG will not dissapoint.

Oh, the planet of the apes game is called Terra Primate

Terra Primate and Angel both have rules for superpowered individuals.

The Unisystem is skill based system not a Level Based System like COH is, so it will prove interesting to see how they handle security clearance and power allocation. Personally I hope they keep it skill based. I would hate to GM for my group if all they want to do is PL by street hunting. =)

Whoever plays with...er games with Stateman please post about the RPG game when you can.

Oooo...I just have to say before I post everything else...

MAISE AND BLUE FOREVER!

Ok, now that that's out of my system, I'll hopefully be at Origins. My boss is being an idiot, and I'm reduced to begging. *sigh* But mark my words, I'll pl...GAME with Statesman someday!

Is THAT all you Americans are interested in, plunging wooden stakes into peoples chests and cutting their heads off. *sigh*

I still think the Champions system would be a better base to run the PnP game on.

As for gaming with Statesman, I would say no... However I would like to throw dice at him, I've got a set of nerf dice I can use too.

My only question regarding the LAN events is...

Who's playing the Fire Tanker and what entertainment is planned for those who aren't playing the Fire Tanker...

Sorry, I'm afraid you'll just nerf everyone who plays with constant "balancing" issues. Hopefully the RP was better designed than the MMO, this stuff is ridiculous. Yeah, I'm looking for another game, this one is just not ran that well.

Sorry, not trying to sound too rude I guess, but seriously, that's how I feel.

I notice you didn't mention Guild Wars, WoW, or any of the upcoming games. Also, aside from some lame graphics in combat, haven't heard anything bad about how MXO is run. THe half-[censored] planning and running of COH has even killed my buzz about COV. You know, the whole "Fool me once, shame on you.." thing.

I know I hope NC Soft is at Dragon Con this year.... If they work out a deal with the higher ups, I already have a good floor plan in Hanover Hall. This year they (the higher ups) might only give me C,D,E,F, and G... but within the next 2 years.... Muhahahaha....... Sorry... as Director of Computer Gaming at Dragon Con I sometimes get delusions of dominating all of Hanover Hall... right now I have to share the space with the LARP crowd... sigh..... some day.... some day....

Trust me... as soon as I know more... ya'll will now more about NC Soft coming to Dragon Con in Atlanta, GA... that is, unless they tell me I'm not allowed to say anything and force me to sigh a NDA... Weep....

I know... alittle dramatic... was that too much???? I think it might have been too much....

Peace all...
