Will Godzilla or Rodan ever terrorize Paragon?

Well even though we may never see Godzilla or Rodan or their buddies. I would sure love to see a special map incorporated where anything can and does always happen. Especially if buildings were set ablaze and toppled by huge monster beasts. Now that to me would be dynamic super hero, saving the city playing at it's best. Laterz.

Take a look at the Hive and Monster Island in PI.

More monsters then you can shake a stick at.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

The really strange thing is, the night before you posted this, I had an odd dream that the devs were adding kaiju as an epic AT.

When the Clockwork manage to build their Paladin, that counts

I think the Kronos Titan's big enough to count. ^^

The Paladin? Dinky. Babbage? Small, not uber-terrorizing. the giant frickin' robot in the Hess TF?

Now we're talking. But it needs to be... bigger.

FYI - I'm a HUGE kaiju fan (giant monsters).

I collect all the figs, the theatrical posters, etc.

I've got Godzillas from the past two movies all around my office. And a Godzilla: Final Wars mousepad (theatre only).

As long as Marvel doesn't own the rights to Godzilla, a giant anything may be okay..

The new CoH theme song should be "Save the Earth". The Japanese version, preferrably.

The Crystal Titan vs Hess's giant robot in Atlas Park, winner take all.

Then the folks at Magi could save the world for a change (instead of letting something loose from that insecure vault) and bring the Atlas statue (or the Talos statue) back to life to fight the giant monster in a 2 on 1 tag team match.

(Bonus points if the devs can work in the Macho man with a folding chair screaming "Can you dig it?" "Oh Yeah!! somehow.

We have had Giant Monsters Attack Paragon City Already.

Giant Pumpkins, Winter Lords etc.

Now you may see something "kindof" like Godzilla or Rodan, someday in the future, but it has to be something different enough, or we have the "Marvel" situation all over again.

The giant squid is about the largest physical monster in the game. It's as close as we get to Godzilla right now (unless there's something in the Shard I haven't seen yet).

Anyone recall the American "Godzilla" movie? Toho holds the reins on Godzilla, etc. pretty tightly. Of course a few changes here and there and a reasonable non-actionable fascimile could be made.

There's an easy way to do a Kaiju fight - You go to an instanced mission with a new tileset - "Tiny City" where everything under your feet is the scale of the tiny buildings in an Ultraman episode or Godzilla movie. You also get a temporary power like "Throw Building" or "Throw Power Line" that works like Throw Boulder. Voila : Monster Fight!

I think I remember making a similar suggestion around the end of Beta- only this was an actual villain (who was more or less Godzilla-sized) classified as a "Giga-Villain" who would stomp around Atlas Park/King's Row/Steel Canyon and brag about how invincible he was and how no single hero could ever hope to best him.

Defeating him would consist of one or two methods- 1. Hold him off and stop him from attacking key places (shelters, Police stations etc) until either the Freedom Phalanx or a "Giga-Hero" in the vein of Atlas or Talos shows up. or 2. All players work together to win this impossible battle until they defeat him (much like the Winter Lords or Pumpkins). Oh, and in any case it would be a Dev controlling this character, so it'd be something more than just a giant NPC.

Though I will admit, a giant monster attacking a popular city zone would probably be even better, though it should be something other than a giant lizard or ape (come on, think of something different).

Forget Rodan, we need some Gamera in Paragon!

Personally I would love to see another Rikti Invasion Type of event. That was by far one of the most memorable things that I have experienced in a game.

Wow. And we could finally see cops running from a REAL threat that deserves the famous 'limp wrist dash'.
