clues to future epics?(spoilers)
Hm, you make some really good points, Settch. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

So it would be like prechristian rome where all the temples pulled that sort of thing? Or some Leiber stories? or discworld....

Hey, I have nothing against Discworld. I love it! But it's really not the kind of flavour I want seeping into City of Heroes.
Now a Discworld MMORPG sounds like a pretty fun idea! Hmm...

I'll drop a hint: the name of an upcoming Epic Archetype.
Incarnate.
Heck - I'll do another....
Coralax.
Happy Saturday!

i think states ability to toy with us is one of his benefits. He gets a crappy dental plan but every few hours he gets to make our heads spin in weird circles.
I'm placing my money that Coralax is the winged AT. There are a number of words that start with C-O-R that derive their meanings from 'bird-like' or 'raven'.

Well alot of discworld's humor comes from treating fantasy cliches with a dose of realistic reaction. That's why I brought it up.
Anyway t he point is moot... Incarnate sounds like something godliing oriented..
incarnates!!=keldhians?
coralax prolly the shapeshifting AT we heard about. But its not what well expect it to be.
Bullies need to be ignored...they will stop teasing you if you don't pay mind to them...damn you and your power Statesman!
So Corlax is like a Pokemon?
What about those shadow shard guys (Faathim the Kind, Ruludakk the Strong, Lanaru the Mad). sure they're 20 feet tall but cryptiv has to be going somewhere with the whole shadow shard thing.
Sorry if that was already metnioned.

Cor- \Cor-\ (k[o^]r-).
A prefix signifying with, together, etc. See Com-.
Cor \Cor\ (k[^o]r), n. [Heb. k[=o]r.]
A Hebrew measure of capacity; a homer. [Written also core.]
Cor
This Hebrew word, untranslated, denotes a round vessel used as a
measure both for liquids and solids. It was equal to one homer,
and contained ten ephahs in dry and ten baths in liquid measure
(Ezek. 45:14). The Rabbins estimated the cor at forty-five
gallons, while Josephus estimated it at about eighty-seven. In 1
Kings 4:22; 5:11; 2 Chr. 2:10; 27:5, the original word is
rendered "measure."
lax
adj 1: lacking in rigor or strictness; "such lax and slipshod ways
are no longer acceptable"; "lax in attending classes";
"slack in maintaining discipline" [syn: slack]
2: (phonetics) pronounced with muscles relatively relaxed
(e.g., the vowel sound in `bet') [ant: tense]
3: not taut or rigid; not stretched or held tight; "a lax rope"
[ant: tense]
4: lacking in strength or firmness or resilience; "flaccid
muscles"; "took his lax hand in hers"; "gave a limp
handshake"; "a limp gesture as if waving away all desire
to know" G.K.Chesterton; "a slack grip" [syn: flaccid, limp,
slack]
5: tolerant or lenient; "indulgent parents risk spoiling their
children"; "procedures are lax and discipline is weak";
"too soft on the children" [syn: indulgent, lenient, soft]
6: emptying easily or excessively; "loose bowels" [syn: loose]
Lax \Lax\, n.
A looseness; diarrhea.
Lax \Lax\, a. [Compar. Laxer; superl. Laxest.] [L. laxus Cf.
Laches, Languish, Lease, v. t., Leash.]
1. Not tense, firm, or rigid; loose; slack; as, a lax
bandage; lax fiber.
The flesh of that sort of fish being lax and spongy.
--Ray.
2. Not strict or stringent; not exact; loose; weak; vague;
equivocal.
The discipline was lax. --Macaulay.
Society at that epoch was lenient, if not lax, in
matters of the passions. --J. A.
Symonds.
The word ``[ae]ternus'' itself is sometimes of a lax
signification. --Jortin.
3. Having a looseness of the bowels; diarrheal.
Syn: Loose; slack; vague; unconfined; unrestrained;
dissolute; licentious.
Cora
n : (Greek mythology) daughter of Zeus and Demeter; made queen
of the underworld by Pluto in ancient mythology;
identified with Roman Proserpina [syn: Persephone, Despoina,
Kore, Cora]
So depending on how you break the word up it could refer to anything from a Daughter of Zeus and Demeter to "with diarrhea". I still think the winged or shapeshifter is more likley, just pointing out the ambiguities of the sitaution
Ummm....
Corlax sounds and looks like Gorlax...the lazy sleepy Pokemon!

Solo Space
My guesses for the record:
Incarnate: "carn' being the operative syllablye I'm thinking a shapeshifting carnivore like a werewolf. In-Carn-ate is a clever enough play on words to cover that. Evil inside anyone?
Coralax: Water-based powers Coral -Axe. Don't over-think this stuff, it'll make your brain hurt. While I recognize the whole cor-cora references, these are SUPERHERO names, not in-game races or references. Ideally the name is something the Character would be able to think of. Just because Jack can name 15 different obscure sumarian cities doesn't mean that his character can, or would want to.
Just my thoughts..if I'm right I want a no-prize..oh wait that's probably a Marvel copyright too..
Coralax... Hmmmm...
Oh yeah, that's what my Grandfather has to take when he doesn't get enough fiber inhis diet.
Sounds like some regular hero types to me

The second I think and nearly as blatant is Statesman and his awakening to human potential. This has been mentioned in the past as coming out after city of villains. I personally think Statesman's route will be the only route to this exaltation...

Statesman has already said in an interview that Statesman's powers is an Epic AT and it will be put into the game in a few issues.
As for the Coralax, being a long time player of White Wolf, I have to say, the Corax are the first that I thought of So, i'm voting birdie's/winged too.
Well i have my fingers crossed that it is the winged AT because that is the one im looking forward to the most.

I know its goiing in, but I suspect his method for becomiing will be the only way, perhaps even being only open to naturals..
My calls: We know two upcoming Epic Archtypes. And these names match them well enough.
Statesman: Incarnate
Merpeople: Coralax.
Dudes, Coral-ax. It fits.

Corollax is referance to a mytical bird of some sort I believe.
From Angus McQueen's story arc we know that peace is being formed with one of the Rikti factions so maybe we'll be allowed to play as a Traditionalist Rikti. Angus McQueen himself is also another clue, he's a lost who fought back from becoming one of them and maybe a halfbreed mutant thing like him will be playable, someone who had the willpower to resist the change but keep some of the abilities.
Unrelated hint, but may lead to something nasty to fight is in the letter Hamidon sent to Tanya. It says one day he'll rise up from his lair, imagine Hamidon moving and hunting people. Scary.
There is also the Tielekku (sp?) story arc in the late 20s, if you did it (spoiler space)
A powerful goddess owes you a very signifigant favor - maybe the/a source of the Incarnate option.
