You know, he didn't exactly say that regen scrappers are too strong here. Maybe what he is refering to is the tweak many of us regen scrappers have been hinting at for a while. You know, where Fast Healing actually becomes worth something and IH isn't the only power anybody cares about except for Integration? More like a rebalancing than a nerf. At least I hope that's what he's talking about.

For many blasters, "3 hits" is 1 more hit than is typically required vs. +2 minions (LTs and Bosses are a different story). Unless mob HP increases substantially and/or mob AI improves, that will continue to be the case in the future.

Now if you mean, taking Instant Healing from level 28 to the level 35 power. That seems ok. It would mean 7 more painful levels for regen scrappers, but woudl be more acceptable than a nerf of IH.
I already need 3 end reducers, Quick Recovery, and Stamina to keep all my toggles going, please don't make IH use more end, or heal less. Without having other powers like Stealth, Tough, and Weave. We'd still be torn apart, but we have to take those things to balance it all out.

If he had specified a power I wouldn't be so worried; but he didn't, he mentioned the set in general, and generally the set IS that power.

[/ QUOTE ]As someone else said..maybe that's the point. Right now, I have 3 powers in my secondary set that I consider necessary: IH, Integration, QR. The last being necessary for the other two. FH is worthless. Resilience is a drop in a bucket. Revive is pointless, MoG is broken. Recon is useful only in the low levels, and DP is useful but not required. It's jsut handy if you have an extra slot.
Maybe they'll wean us off IH by boosting some of our other powers? For a slight drop in IH's power, I'd be OK with that.
Statesman, Electric blasters are fine. If you want to see one in action please let me know and I'll take you on a mission with me as a observer any time. Also, the regeration line is ok if you ask me. Course I'm only one person.... Invul and the rest could use some love to make them as effective as they should be.
I hope you'll take me to task for looking at my Electric/Electric Blaster.

My question: Why ruin a good thing? Especially when so many people have found it to be so useful when combined with power pools?

I trust Statesman to know what he's doing, but I don't necessarily agree with him. Especially when he talks about Invuln being fine [ Per se, don't say I quoted him, but that's what I got ], and Regen is getting a tweak.

Even in the low level missions? I'm very concerned about new players facing orange Mortificators (often in pairs!) at levels 3 or 4. That's a tough fight for veteran players. I'm sure anyone who's made a new Science hero in the past while can back this up.
That's some funny stuff. True, albeit I'm sure it's still annoying for States. Sorry to you, States, but really; The Starting post was to clarify matters of what was being worked on, and then he generalizes Regen by saying " It's a concern ", with a follow up being " Concern = Small Tweak ". .. That's not really specific; especially when you place it next to " DA, Ice, and Stone are all getting their Armors stackable ". You know Exactly what is going on with that.
Perhaps if you wanted to make it a " mystery ", I could understand.. but it's still nerve-racking when you post " Invuln Scrappers can't meet the same Resist as Invuln Tanks " next to " Regen is a concern ".
Otherwise I would have no problems. That's why I worry.
I guess the real reason I worry, is that right now I am having a lot of fun. I don't feel overpowered. I feel just right, and it is fun. I have nutured my little scrapper since day 1, and I am only level 43. I have put a lot of work into her to make sure she is well rounded. And I'd hate to suddenly lose all that.
I still have to be careful what I fight. I need to keep close eye on my END, cause if I run out or get too low, I am most likely toast. I need to be very wary of Sappers and some Carnies, as even -1 or -2 level ones can cause problems because of their end drains. (I for one don't mind 2 sappers in a group, it makes me cautious).

To move things *away* from the Regen scrapper debate:
1. Is Flight speed being looked into at all? I know someone told me you had answered this once, but I scoured the Dev Digest to no avail.
2. Is the Energy Blast powerset being looked at? There was a great thread about this a little while ago, but there was no Dev commentage.

Oh thank GOD. You mean you're going to turn my AOE damage up so I don't get my [censored] handed to me by the remaining twelve 1hp enemies? That would be nice. Or if you gave me a secondary effect.
In fact Fire blasters need to suck a lot less right now. We need a secondary effect that isn't just "more damage" so that when all the other blasters complain you don't take away everything we have.

You said from your testing, you said Scrappers can not meet the same amount of Resist that Tankers can. There are many, many people who would disagree with this statement. Can you either show us how you found this out, or take the research someone made of a Scrapper meeting the same damage cap that Tankers can get to, and show us how it's not valid?

i do hope you understand that ice armor needs a lot more than just stacking armor in their current state.Such thing will change absolutely nothing in our current weakness.
To sum it up really fast :
-no sleep resist , we are currently totally useless and defendless against all group using sleep attack.
-no usefull resistance giving us no way to mitigate alpha strike making us the weakest tanker primary, we have no way to tank hard hitter, well built storm defenders are close to basic ice tankers in the tanking departement because of that.
Hey States...
Just wanted to ask how you guys are thinking about changing AOE... While I don't completely rely on AOE, two of my most damaging skills are AOE and being a Blaster, it's either kill the mob fast or get a hospital bed...
Also, if I may I'd like to draw your attention to the link in my signature... If you could find a spare moment to look it over and maybe leave a comment (no matter how miniscule) a lot of us would appreciate it...
I'm going to have to agree with what someone else said: no need to waste time looking into elec/elec blasters. Sure, I don't kill/arrest as much as fire or energy blasters, but I don't think I'm gimped at all.
Question : You mentioned at Wizard the possibility of expanding powerpools with new powers, and mentioned a "Teleport to Map Point" power for the TP set. Would there ever be a flying attack-like power added to Flight? Or what kind of fifth power are you considering for that, if you have even considered it yet?
They're probably changing AoE for the same reason that they changed provoke before, because every blaster is complaining about fire blasters.
If they're going to take away our AoE, they HAVE to give us some other kind of secondary effect (other than the apparently nested provoke we have in every AoE attack).
Thank you for keeping us informed Statesman. Just another question for you though. Mobs that are level 51 and higher are currently immune to knockback and knockdown. Are there any fixes in the works for this?
