And guess what, folks! Check the current training room patch notes. Super Speed and Super Leap have a -%50 accuracy, in PvP and PvE, the same as Flight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hover doesn't have that large a penalty, and Hover gives the same vertical capability as does Flight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hover may give the ability to reach the same vertical capactiy as Flight, but I don't think anyone will be escaping melee combat by hovering out of range...
(Note: You could six slot it, but that's a lot of slots to spend on Hover)
[/ QUOTE ]
And yet its reasonable for someone to say "Super Speed has an accuracy penalty? Then six-slot sprint!"? -
How? Why? How did he even post in a thread this old?
-
I'm so glad that my blaster is 50. I don't ever have to worry about any changes to blasters.

2. Burn can be used to make enemies stay as far away from melee as necessary to shoot you in the head

You had a typo. I fixed it. -

rigggggght....
gambit is a blaster.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I personally believe Gambit is a Scrapper. While he does have a ranged attack with his playing cards, cards are not exactly an aerodynamic missile. Therefore, I would expect them to only be short range, like Spines.
At this point, however, I think that everything I'm replying to is degenerating, and no one is paying attention to what I am saying overall, merely taking statements out of context. So I am out of this thread. It's late anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
You too have been fooled by the cards. His real mutant power is super-cajun seduction. So he's a mind controller. -

Try to think of a single team, a single situation, a single time in game where a team trying to decided between two potential teammates would say "No, lets not take the scrapper, let's take the blaster!"
[/ QUOTE ] Arakhn. You were trying to make a point that I'd like to agree with...but you overdid it a little.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why? AoEs? So in effect the scrapper will die as fast as the blaster? I'm still not seeing preference.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, Arakhn flies. Hovering scraps exist, but we aren't common.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to admit I haven't done her yet, but so what? She's in an outdoor map or something? Or a cathedral? What prevents the scrappers from superjumping up to her? -

I honestly don't know why it isn't:
Controller: Control/Buff
Defender: Buff/Ranged
Blaster: Ranged/Control
[/ QUOTE ]
Because ranged/control is flipping overpowered.
At the moment its ranged/utility, with some sets being utilized better.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why is ranged/control overpowered? We're talking about blasters being to controllers as controllers are to defenders.
Is ranged/control any more overpowered than ranged/melee (regardless of how you want to dress it up) like it is now? -

Here's how you can tell blasters are generally useless. Try to think of a single team, a single situation, a single time in game where a team trying to decided between two potential teammates would say "No, lets not take the scrapper, let's take the blaster!"

What would be the opposite of radiation blast anyway?

Bryan Gacha, graduate student of justice, has a few patents on life-saving medication. He also has a cancer drug in the works (the one that gave him his powers in an early test run) called Pyromax. He uses the money from these to support himself and pay for graduate studies in Biochemistry.
He has a nice Penthouse apartment in founders, which has an attached tech lab for the creation of his crime-fighting devices. -
This is a thread to post your poetry remembering the 5th column and how great it is. And how sad we all are now that our favorite villain group has become COBRAAAA.
I'll start it off.
I have been one acquainted with the nacht
Adapted from Robert Frost
I have been one acquainted with the nacht.
I have fought on through pain--And felt their pain.
I have outfought the strongest they have stocked.
I have lived through the saddest change of all.
I have passed by the Archon on his beat
And dropped my eyes, the sight of him appalls.
I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet
When from away a battle cry
Came over houses from another street,
Best not to call it back or say a good-bye;
And further still at an unearthly height,
A strange new sentry patrols the sky
For this my favorite villain group was hocked,
I have been one acquainted with the nacht. -
My favorite reference, and it may have been mentioned already, maybe even by me, I don't know, has always been the reference to Strikeforce: Morituri at the end of the Manticore TF.

See a pattern? -
They're probably changing AoE for the same reason that they changed provoke before, because every blaster is complaining about fire blasters.
If they're going to take away our AoE, they HAVE to give us some other kind of secondary effect (other than the apparently nested provoke we have in every AoE attack). -
"The massive AOE Alpha Strikes will be addressed shortly after Tankers get their due."
Oh thank GOD. You mean you're going to turn my AOE damage up so I don't get my [censored] handed to me by the remaining twelve 1hp enemies? That would be nice. Or if you gave me a secondary effect.
In fact Fire blasters need to suck a lot less right now. We need a secondary effect that isn't just "more damage" so that when all the other blasters complain you don't take away everything we have.
