I kind of wish there was an in-game feedback form like in beta but I guess all I can do is post here.

I play alot of characters so I've seen all the lower level missions many times. I'm just doing the 'Clockwork Captive' arc with one of my alts and noticed some great changes in Lou's Garage.

For one, the sign as you first enter. Then there's the checkered flag stripes on the wall and even on the tops of the hanging lights. The auto racing artwork on the walls is a great new touch as are the tire racks and car lift.

I'm not sure where else other than the general forum to post this and I fear it will scroll away before it can be seen, but I just wanted to let you guys know your efforts are noticed and appreciated!

(Edit - ooops! I forgot there's a 'feedback and suggestions' button to click on the Petition form )

Wow..they changed this? his garage was an office building when I did it...vey disappointing.

Yep - we've been going back and customizing a bunch of early level stuff. One of the big assets to City of Heroes is that players LOVE to roll up and play tons of characters. As a result, I want to make sure that the old content gets freshened up.

To sum up: on every expansion, we'll be customizing art & software for many pre-existing missions. So sometimes, you'll see something new in something you've done before.

Heh... don't feel bad, I've actually filed "bug" reports just to praise the devs for something really nifty. Then I found the feedback button.

I was truly amazed by the Hellions mission with the smoked out office building. Burning walls, alters to unknown gods, and a thick smoke pervaded the entire zone. It was truly marvelous.

I couldn't agree more. That mission has terrific atmosphere that I can only hope (not hop ) will eventually be used in other settings as well.

About your avatar...where have I seen those spooky little critters before? "My Neighbor Totoro" is the first thing that springs to mind...

Close. That was also a Miyazaki film. Try Princess Mononoke.

Yeah, that was great when I saw it. A couple of other "new" and cool low-level warehouse missions: Skulls drug lab mission with boiling vats, vials of Superadine, green haze in the air, and so on. A 5th column mission with control panels, 5th logos and color-scheme (like high-level 5th missions), crates with 5th logo, gloomy dim lighting instead of regular warehouse lighting, and so on.

Very good changes. Thanks Stateman! I am an alt-junkie (18 characters and counting) and it was fabulous to enter the same old beginner missions and get these surprises. Excellent!

I used the Suggestions and Feedback option in the petition tool for it. Got a nice response from a GM too.

Yes, this mission is much better looking now. Originally it was in an office building, which didn't make any sense at all. The Clockwork prince parked near the garage equipment seemed to fit right in.

So, I and 4 friends who play together a lot decided to make up a whole new set of charecters and a themed SG and start from scratch, more or less, just because, well, levling in your 40s is painful.

We can't get -over- the new missions. You do a 5th mission and it's got nazi propoganda broadcasting, logos everywhere...the doors give the whole thing different looks and feels, the destructable crates........

We love it. It has honeslty changed the feel of the lower levels, when there really aren't more than 5 or 7 maps that you seem to see (at the upper levels, the larger levels and more tilesets do make them feel different).

Seriously, I'm very glad to see more content go in for the lower levels (though the placement of some of the level 5 contacts is just -mean-), and I will continue to be baffled by those that powerlevel.

What is disappointing? That they make constant changes to their game or that you are able to make a new Hero and check the changed mission out?

im pretty sure is disappointment was when he first did the mission. since the first time he did the mission it was an office building, which ruins the immersion. not everyone is trying to tear the game down.

I especially liked the changes to the 5th column missions at the early levels. ESPECIALLY the added touch of the ambient sound of propaganda over the loud-speakers.

GREAT touch. Something I hope to see (or rather, hear) more of, is more ambient noise that suits the individual missions.

[/ QUOTE ]No, the old mission was disappointing, cause I had hoped for soemthing like this. Now that it's here I'm happy.

I also love the new Teh P0z-whosawhatsit map.. that would be what I'd expect a Freakshow hideout to look like. Awesome work on that too..

While not "art" related, really loved what you did with one of the find a clockwork part maps where the "pile of parts" kept spawning gears... Man never thought gears a threat until there's like 20 of them.. lol.

ditto what the OP said. and can we get some extra toon slots? PLEASE? or an ETA on moving toons to other servers. I want to play every single AT and powerset and play them with my friends.

I hate to kvetch, because I love the new artwork and models, but I had to bug one problem with Lou's back room:

There is no way for the parked truck to have gotten into that room unless he assembled it there. All the doors on the wall are loading docks, not garage doors. It could not have been driven in, and there is no way to get it out without disassembling it.

Other than that, I am a huge fan of all the work that has been done on maps like that one, the Frostfire map (!), the superadine factory, the Pwnz mission, and more. Kudos!

My favorite is the hellion or skull first door mission, the burning building one (magic origin gets it). I wish I got to do those on my characters now heh.. the atmosphere in that place is great!

Note:

He very well could have brought the car in, in pieces. Lou could just be running diagnostic tests on the engine, who knows?

Anyway...the Hellions' mission was nice. I especially enjoyed the Sigil of Baphomet (read by someone else as "unknown gods"), which meant they were serving the Great Goat of Mendes, more trivial information about a gang used as cannon fodder by the Warriors for me!

As for Teh Pwnxxor! mission? I should need to check this out!

While I do LOVE what's being done to low level content, can we get some more stuff for other areas as well? I'd love to see these kinds of updates being applied to mid level content as well. I don't know if it get's better at higher levels, but fighting Raiders and Family in the same office buildings gets old fast. As does fighting DE and BP in the same caves, Lost in the same sewers, etc.

I love the Outcast missions with the ice on the floor (that you can slip on!) and even Ice slides that you could slide from an upper level to a lower one. There was one that could be used like a halfpipe. Great touches.

put a huge ice slide - as tall as a building - in a zone and I'd bet very little crime would be stopped ever again
