There is a log for storage use. A pain to search through, copy and pasting into word would help.
I wish we had a 'notice board' feature too. Might have to try the dot writing .... -

Quote:Ten months of the year, it is only once a week.As a new player i think poorly of all these 'Weekly' updates which are more like daily.
Six months or there abouts, typical maint starts at around 10:30pm aus time, much more bearable than the 8:30pm.
For about 6-8 weeks a year, its just about impossible to get on in Aus evenings - before and after big issue releases etc.
And there's always going to be emergency situations.
Also, welcome to the game. -
Quote:I meant duping rares only works if you've gone to the americansI imagine the server farms were localized at that time. But if the Euro servers ever experienced that oddball rollback, then on-hand character inventory very well could have been duped via transferring to market or e-mail storage.

Quote:That very much amuses me.Great, had to make a facebook account just for an emote -.-
Why?? I like my privacy as it is... privat.
funny thing, entering random (read fictional) facts about me... employer: Crey Industries... I found two other CoX Players
Particularly that you and two others took the time to enter pseudo details -
Why would the leader in 3) sort teams when 9/10 times they get jumbled after the queue?
1) would annoy me into quitting, 2) sounds like an unexperienced leader.
Too many people state looking for any trial and then complain about how the leader wants to do it (eg keep them seperated)
I think you should start leading teams. It seems you are more than happy to complain about how poorly others do (this is repeat post theme by you) without being willing to do it yourself.
Calling the people who are willing to do more than "/b looking for trial' the bottom of the barrell is hardly going to encourage people to excell.
Its like PUG teams, dont like the ones you join? Make your own. -
I also use it for 'stealthing' missions.

I like the fame strings & putdown strings redside a lot

I recommend trying out MIDS (www.cohplanner.com) when looking at IOs and characters. It takes the guess work out, and you can better see benefits of different IOs and Benefits of sets/frankenslotting.

Quote:Incorrect. NCSoft, in the interest of making money will pick times that causes the least amount cancelled subs. This may be the same as the least amount of people, but doesn't have to be. eg annoying 70% of your userbase 10% of the time may be less disruptive to the incoming subs that annoying 10% of your userbase 70% of the time.NCSoft, in the interest of making as much money as possible, and pleasing the most customers, will ALWAYS, if given a choice, pick the time that inconveniences the least amount of people, regardless of where they live. You said yourself that your money is the same as ours, so a customer is a customer is a customer. They pick the same times because that's what the numbers say, and if you happen to want to play during those times more than any other, you will be inconvenienced more. There's no way around it.
There are also many people that can only play in the morning times here in the States. They are also just as inconvenienced as you by morning (for us) maintenance. They're not just picking on Aussies.
I personally feel that NCSoft has done a lot to reduce downtime for Aussies from what it was when I first started. If it was like it was a few years ago, I wouldnt be playing/paying anymore. I couldnt even recommand the game to people back then, as there was no expectation of being able to play - it was awful when it was 8:30-10:30 every week night.
They changed it from every day, all the time in a peak time to typically once a week.
More recently that staggered the tuesday morning patch time to be a bit later - that was great - 10:30pm shut off is way nicer than 8:30pm.
Another factor is the daylight savings changes - that also changes maint from mildly annoying to in your face downtime.
It would be nice if unexpected maint was announced ahead of time too of course /straightface.
There are times when its simply going to suck being at this stage of daylight savings and the higher amount of downtime. I expect it to be bad during Freedom release too. -
Played gauntlet in many a lock in session (all night at arcade, games are free after you pay entry).

I like the intangibility on crate spawns idea, might have to try that.

Quote:Craft and sell drops. You should get far more than 150 million that way by level 50.Not for me, it won't. My wealthiest character has just over 150 million Influence. Which means I can't even buy a single purple IO.
I literally have no idea how people earn billions of Inf. Farming, I guess. There was one girl on here who played the game 8 hours a day and was complaining about the Inf cap being 2 billion. I'm never going to see that much across all of my characters no matter how long I play, because I'm lucky if I get in 8 hours a week. That means all these super-powerful goodies are forever locked to me. -
I'm pretty sure you will drop to two character slots open, regardless how many you have made.

The good vs evil jump pac lets you do massive, 30 seconds long turbocharged ninja jumps.
Iertia reduction should work somewhat too, but the jump pack lets you 'start' jumps mid air so you can climb high very quickly.
The steampunk jetpack should do similar, but irrc doesnt look as cool as its animation replaces teh ninja jump one. -
Quote:Not so long ago, in a thread very similar about naming purges, a red name (Zwil iirc) popped in and said something similar to 'for reasons I can't explain, Paragon wont be running a name purge script in foreseeable future".As much as I would love to see it, I highly doubt that a feature like this will be in for the launch of CoH: Freedom or even in any upcomign issues post CoH: Freedom. Seeing as Freedom is in open beta right now, or VIP beta as the devs like to call it
, and a change like this isn't even in it. I just don't see it happening in the forseeable future for this game. Then again, the devs still might have a trick or two up their sleeves, but I honestly think the content we have in beta is the content that will go live when CoH: Freedom launches.
My guess at that statement is that there might be another name convention that makes purges a waste of time.
Of course it could also mean, 'suck it up buttercups', the name system is here to stay and we wont be purging names.
Or after the merge of EU and US servers, they might consider it too dangerous to go any where near that codebase again.
But my 100 inf bet is on it (naming system) changing within 12 months. -
A shivan each would most likley turn it into a cakewalk. Thats the easy answer

This time of day is always possible chance of maintance.
Offically its only thursday, but as said, patches and extra maint is often on tuesday.
Of late, when its been on tuesdays they had been running it a little later - which was really nice for those here in Aus - server maint at 10:30 pm is big difference to 8:30pm.
What really bugs me if that its the wrong URL on the launcher text. Thats most unfriendly. Either make http://www.cityofheroes.com/servers/index.html a redirect to the right page, or change the text box for the heroes program.
